NOTES ON THE CURSE OF THE LORD TOWARD THIEVES AND LIARS WHO VIOLATE HIS COVENANT: FINAL WARNINGS TO THE MENDACIOUS MAGAITES – (WITH VIDEO)

THEOLOGY

SCRIPTURE. “Again I looked up, and I saw a scroll flying in the air! And the angel said to me, ‘What do you see?’ And I answered, ‘I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty cubits (thirty feet) and its width is ten cubits (fifteen feet).’ Then he said to me, ‘This is the curse that is going out over the face of the whole land; for everyone who steals will be cut off according to the writing on one side, and everyone who swears [oaths falsely] shall be cut off according to the writing on the other side. I will send the curse out,’ declares the Lord of hosts, ‘and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name; and it will spend the night in that house and consume it, both its timber and its stones.’” – ZECHARIAH 5:1-4, AMP

KEY TERMS:

THOSE WHO STEAL ‘Ganab’ [גָּנַב]: “A primitive root, ‘To deceive; carry away, secretly bring or steal away or get by stealth.’” NOTE: “גָּנַב (‘ganab’) denotes taking what rightfully belongs to another by stealth, fraud, or force. Scripture treats the act not merely as a social inconvenience but as a ‘Breach of Covenant Fidelity against God Himself,’ the ultimate Owner of all things.”

THOSE WHO SWEAR. ‘Shaba’ [שָׁבַע]: “A primitive root, ‘To make complete or seven oneself (by repetition); to adjure, charge by a [solemn] oath [to God].’ NOTE: “The Hebrew verb שָׁבַע occurs 187 times, stretching from Genesis to Malachi. Its basic sense is ‘to swear’ or ‘to take an oath,’ and the contexts cluster around Covenant Ratification, courtroom procedure, political loyalty, worship, and Prophetic Promise. The term appears in every major corpus: Torah, Historical Books, Wisdom Literature, and Prophets, demonstrating that Oath-Making is a thread woven through the entire Old Testament narrative.”

COMMENTARY. “‘The Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are Rolls, in which God has written the great things of His Law and Gospel; they are Flying Rolls. God’s Word runs very swiftly (Ps. 147:15). This Flying Roll contains a Declaration of the righteous Wrath of God against sinners.’ Oh that we saw with an eye of faith the Flying Roll of God’s Curse hanging over the guilty World as a thick cloud, not only keeping off the sunbeams of God’s Favour, but big with thunders, lightnings, and storms, ready to destroy them! How welcome then would the Tidings of a Saviour be, Who came to redeem us from the Curse of the Law, being Himself made a Curse for us!

Sin is the ruin of houses and families; especially the doing hurt to others and false witness. Who knows the power of God’s Anger? God’s Curse cannot be kept out by bars or locks. ‘While one part of the Curse of God ruins the substance of the sinner, another part will rest on the soul, and sink it to Everlasting Punishment!’ All are transgressors of the Law, so we cannot escape this Wrath of God.” – MATTHEW HENRY, Exposition of the Old and New Testaments, 6 vols., 1708-1710; edited

II. TEACHING

WRATH! This a Biblical Concept and Truth that has largely been expurgated from the Evangelical Church of today. It has no place any longer in the suffocating Politeness of the Seeker Friendly Doctrine. Indeed, in this heretical contemplation of God’s Canon, He is no longer angry with sin, only forgiving – with or without compliance to His Commandments or Repentance for one’s wrongs.

GENERAL USE. There are a variety of Hebrew terms for this concept, but only one word in the Greek idiom that encapsules its heart, and that is, ‘Orgé’ [ὀργή]: “Violent Passion or Justifiable Abhorrence leading to punishment; anger, indignation, vengeance.” NOTE: “The term ὀργή occurs thirty-six times in the Greek New Testament and gathers into Two Broad Spheres: (1) The settled, righteous opposition of God to sin, and (2) The moral emotion of anger in people, which Scripture repeatedly warns must be restrained. In every setting, ὀργή reveals the Character of a Holy God and calls His people to live in light of both His Justice and His Mercy.”

DIVINE RETRIBUTION. “The Septuagint frequently renders Hebrew words for Anger (especially חֵמָה and אַף) with ὀργή, linking the concept to ‘Covenant Faithfulness’ Divine Wrath falls on ‘Idolatry’ (Exodus 32:10), Injustice (Isaiah 10:5), and ‘Covenant Breach’ (Deuteronomy 29:23). During the Intertestamental Era, Jewish literature began to emphasize a ‘Final Day of Wrath,’ a theme carried directly into the New Testament. ROMANS crystallizes the Doctrine. ‘The Wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the ungodliness and wickedness of men’ (Romans 1:18). ‘It is not capricious rage but God’s Settled Antagonism toward Evil, culminating in Final Judgment’ (Romans 2:5; Revelation 6:16-17).

THESIS. Beloved, my sense of this passage given to me early on the morning of July 10, 2025, bathed in a Full Moon, expresses this: ‘MAGA Insurrectionists have but minutes to Repent. And then: Destruction to all who Lie and Swear Falsely, violating the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the very last time.

Selah. Selah.

III. WHY GOD HATES MAGA

“These six things the Lord hates, indeed, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look [the spirit that makes one overestimate himself and underestimate others], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies [even under oath], and he who sows discord among his brethren.” – PROVERBS 6:16-19, AMPC

Based upon what I have written above as a Theological Beachhead for what follows, I will specify FIVE REASONS for my claim that Almighty God, by His very Nature and His Word, considers Maga Christianity His avowed Foe.

After a review of a number of articles dealing with this admittedly explosive proposal, I settled upon a superb OP-ED piece from the award-winning newspaper, the Milwaukee Independent, titled, “A Faith Hijacked by Hate: Why Maga Christians Are a Cult of Power Disguised as Religion” (Mar. 16, 2025; edited).

INTRODUCTION. “Many residents of the United States have long projected an Artificial Image of living in a Christian Nation, where Faith serves as the Foundation for its moral and cultural identity. Political leaders invoke religious language, and millions of Americans openly declare their devotion to Christianity. Yet, the actions and rhetoric of many of these self-proclaimed believers Contradict every fundamental teaching of their Faith.

The most recent inconsistency of this Ideology is visible in the modern MAGA Movement, where hatred, cruelty, and exclusion define the behavior of those who claim to follow Jesus Christ. In their world, Christianity is not a message of Love but a weapon of Division. It is not a call to serve the poor, embrace the stranger, or turn the other cheek. Instead, it has become a banner under which they justify their anger toward immigrants, LGBTQ individuals, racial minorities, and anyone who challenges the ‘Dominance of the White Race.’

Their leader is not Christ, but a political figure who represents the Opposite of everything Christianity was meant to stand for. ‘A Man’ defined by greed, vengeance, and self-interest has become the moral standard for a Movement that still insists on calling itself Christian. What should have been a Religion of Humility and Sacrifice has transformed into an Ideology of Conquest and Resentment in America.”

A NON-SECULAR FAITH HIJACKED BY SECULAR WHITE NATIONALISM. “MAGA Christianity does not exist to spread the Gospel or bring people closer to Christ. It exists to consolidate Power, embedded in Hate. Over the last several decades, Christianity in the United States has undergone a Radical Transformation, merging with White Nationalism to create an entirely ‘New Belief System.’ This New Religion is not defined by Scripture, but by the idea that America is a Divinely Chosen Nation under threat from outsiders, secularists, and non-believers.”

THE POLITICS OF RESENTMENT AND AN OBSESSION WITH REVENGE. “MAGA Christianity is not driven by Faith. It is driven by Resentment. The Movement is defined not by love, forgiveness, or service to others, but by an unrelenting belief that they are the Victims of an America that no longer belongs to them. This ‘Grievance Mindset’ has become the Core of their identity, shaping every aspect of their toxic worldview … What they Resent is that they can no longer impose their Will on others without Resistance. This sense of Victimhood has led to an Obsession with Revenge.”

SELECTIVE MORALITY AND THE ABANDONMENT OF CHRIST’S TEACHINGS. “MAGA Christianity operates under a system of ‘Selective Morality.’ It holds others to impossible standards while excusing any sin within its own ranks [cf. Matthew 23:1-36 re: Jesus’ public Rebuke of Religious Leaders]. This ‘Hypocrisy’ is not incidental — it is Central to how the Movement maintains Power. The same people who demand Moral Purity from their political opponents have no issue supporting a leader who has been married multiple times, engaged in financial corruption, and built his career on deception. They claim to stand for ‘Family Values’ while excusing infidelity, dishonesty, and even criminal behavior when it benefits them politically. Their morality is not rooted in Scripture — it is Weaponized to target anyone who does not conform to their Ideology.”

CHRISTIAN IN NAME ONLY. “By every measurable standard, the MAGA Movement does not embody Christianity. It has abandoned love, humility, and service in favor of conquest, grievance, and retribution. Those who claim to follow Christ have built a Movement that worships itself rather than the Teachings it pretends to uphold. A real Christian Movement would reject cruelty, division, and the worship of political leaders. It would care for the sick, the poor, and the marginalized. It would prioritize peace over conflict, justice over control, and grace over vengeance. But MAGA Christianity does none of these things. It does not exist to serve — It exists to ‘Dominate.”’

WHY MAGA CHRISTIANITY WILL NOT FADE QUIETLY. “It is too deeply entrenched in American political and cultural life, too invested in its own mythology, and too dependent on the structures of power it has co-opted to crumble overnight. The Movement’s leaders have spent decades indoctrinating their followers into believing that any challenge to their Dominance is an existential threat. That ‘Paranoia’ will drive them to escalate their tactics, ensuring that the next chapter of American life is defined by deeper divisions, greater cruelty, and a continued Rejection of Christian Principles in favor of political conquest.”

CONCLUSION. “But even as they consolidate Power, the Foundation beneath them is already crumbling. The younger generations are walking away from organized religion at historic rates, rejecting a faith that has become synonymous with bigotry and hypocrisy. The more MAGA Christianity attempts to enforce itself through ‘Coercion,’ the faster its moral credibility erodes. It will not disappear anytime soon. But the Future does not belong to a Movement built on fear and hatred. The only QUESTION left is how much Damage it will do before it becomes nothing more than a bitter footnote in history.” Selah.

IV. LAST THOUGHTS

As I close our discussion for today, I offer you this discernment of what I believe to be GOD’S INSTRUCTIONS toward the United States in the days and years immediately ahead. This after ten years of intense study, reflection, and assessment of the National Trajectory since the arrival of Donald Trump on the American Scene in June 2015.

They are found spelled out in a classic passage from the Book of Deuteronomy under the Title for that chapter: “BLESSINGS AND CURSINGS.” They are severe, precise, yet hopeful regarding the Consequences of Obedience versus Disobedience. This from the God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

BLESSINGS FOR OBEDIENCE

“And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all His Commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. The Lord will command the blessing on you in your barns and in all that you undertake. And He will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. The Lord will establish you as a people holy to Himself, as He has sworn to you, if you keep the Commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. And the Lord will make you abound in prosperity, in the fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your livestock and in the fruit of your ground, within the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. The Lord will open to you His good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the Commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them, and if you do not turn aside from any of the words that I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

CURSES FOR DISOBEDIENCE

But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all His Commandments and His Statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you. Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the field. Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.Cursed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.

The Lord will send on you curses, confusion, and frustration in all that you undertake to do, until you are destroyed and perish quickly on account of the evil of your deeds, because you have forsaken Me. The Lord will make the pestilence stick to you until he has consumed you off the land that you are entering to take possession of it. The Lord will strike you with wasting disease and with fever, inflammation and fiery heat, and with drought and with blight and with mildew. They shall pursue you until you perish. And the heavens over your head shall be bronze, and the earth under you shall be iron. The Lord will make the rain of your land powder. From heaven dust shall come down on you until you are destroyed.

The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them. And you shall be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth. And your dead body shall be food for all birds of the air and for the beasts of the earth, and there shall be no one to frighten them away. The Lord will strike you with the boils of Egypt, and with tumors and scabs and itch, of which you cannot be healed. The Lord will strike you with madness and blindness and confusion of mind, and you shall grope at noonday, as the blind grope in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways. And you shall be only oppressed and robbed continually, and there shall be no one to help you.” – DEUTERONOMY 28:1-29, ESV

TODAY’S CHURCH? The Question: ‘Does this apply to the Christian Church of today?’

There is no consensus here, but I choose the conservative hermeneutic that I call ‘The Narrow Road’ view as over against one the more popular contemporary view known as, OSAS: ‘Once Saved Always Saved.’ The latter of which I have done devastating challenge to in several past Commentaries.

MATTHEW 7:13-14: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad and easy to travel is the path that leads the way to destruction and eternal loss, and there are many who enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow and difficult to travel is the path that leads the way to [everlasting] life, and there are few who find it” (AMP).

So do I close with this well-reasoned assessment from the EDITORS of Watermark Waves Blog (ret. July 17, 2015; edited) that leaves room for one’s personal leading by the Holy Spirit.

I have told you frequently of my view, but you are to measure it by both prayer and your own understanding of the True Covenant of Christ toward ‘Obedience.’

“For Christians, Deuteronomy 28 reminds us of the importance of living in alignment with God’s Will. While the Blessings and Curses were specific to Israel, the Principles remain relevant. Obedience to God brings peace and joy while straying from Him leads to spiritual and sometimes physical consequences. In the New Testament, Jesus fulfilled the Law, taking upon Himself the ultimate Curse of sin (Galatians 3:13). Through Christ, believers can experience God’s Blessings, not based on perfect obedience but through Faith [‘Belief producing a Changed Life’].

Deuteronomy 28 calls us to live faithfully, remembering the Rewards of obedience and the weight of disobedience. It challenges us to choose a life aligned with God’s purpose: ‘I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. NOW CHOOSE LIFE!’ (Deuteronomy 30:19).”

These are the Words of our True King, best I can render them, beloved. Therefore, all Thanksgiving and all Praise belong to the One who has called us and is Faithful and True to preserve who firmly Decide: ‘To ENDURE to the End, thus to be ‘Rescued from The Hour of Wrath just ahead.’
