NOTES ON THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING HONEST: CODICIL ON THE LIGHT OF THE DESCENDANTS OF ISSACHAR TO EXPOSE AMERICA’S PRESENT DARKNESS (WITH VIDEO)

1. THEOLOGY

SCRIPTURE. “Do not participate in the worthless and unproductive deeds of darkness, but instead EXPOSE them [by exemplifying personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character]; for it is disgraceful even to mention the things that such people practice in secret.

But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light [of God’s precepts], for it is light that makes everything visible. For this reason He says, ‘AWAKE, SLEEPER, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine [as dawn] upon you and give you light.” – EPHESIANS 5:11-14, AMP

KEY TERMS.

• “EXPOSE!” ‘Elegchó’ [ἐλέγχετε]: “To confute, admonish, correct; convict, convince, tell a fault; [if necessary], to shame or disgrace [publicly].” NOTE: “Strong’s Greek 1651 describes a Spirit-energized act of bringing wrong into the open so that it can be acknowledged and forsaken. Whether translated ‘convict,’ ‘expose,’ ‘reprove,’ or ‘rebuke,’ the term always carries with it: ‘The Aim of RESTORING people to God’s Design rather than merely Shaming them. It is Truth spoken with Moral Authority, intended to move the conscience toward Repentance and Obedient Faith.”’

• “AWAKE!” ‘Egeiró’ [Ἔγει]: “Stems from the idea of collecting one’s faculties; therefore, ‘to rouse from slumber, inactivity, obscurity, ruin, or death.’” NOTE: “Strong’s Greek 1453, commonly rendered ‘raise,’ ‘awaken,’ or ‘arouse,”’spans 144 New Testament occurrences. The verb forms range from imperatives commanding immediate action to perfects that celebrate completed, enduring results. ‘Whether applied to a Sleeper, a Paralytic, a Prophet, or the Crucified Lord, the word consistently depicts God-given RESTORATION from a State of Incapacity to Purposeful Life.’”

QUOTATION. “‘God does not want my bare minimum.’ God does not want me to go just one step further than other people. He does not say, ‘Be good enough.’ He does not say, ‘Be better than most.’ He says, ‘Be perfect!’ [Matthew 5:48]. Of course, it’s hard to Shoot for Perfection. It is all the harder when you are surrounded by people who are not even trying.

‘The World tells us that there is no such thing as Good or Bad.’ All is Permissible. Sin is no big deal. Some sins are even laudatory. There is no Perfection. ‘But Christ calls us OUT of that Relativistic Fog—all the way out. Not to mere acceptability or decency, but to Holiness, to Sainthood. COMMENTARY. “‘And have NO fellowship’ — No society, no participation with wicked men ‘in the unfruitful works of darkness’ — Works which bring no advantage, but mischief, (Romans 6:23,) and called ‘works of darkness,’ because they usually proceed from ignorance, Acts 3:17; are contrary to the Light of the Word, John 3:20; are usually committed in the dark, 1 Thessalonians 5:7; and bring those who live and die in the commission of them to utter and eternal darkness, Matthew 25:30; 

‘But rather REPROVE them!’ — Show your Disapprobation [Condemnation] of them by seasonable and suitable Reproof, (Leviticus 19:17; Matthew 18:15,) and especially by the Holiness of your Conversation. Observe, reader, to avoid such things is not sufficient. ‘For it is a shame even to speak of those things’ — Except in the way of Reproof; ‘which are done of them in secret’ — That is, says Dr. Whitby, ‘in their mysteries, which therefore were styled απορρητα μυστηρια, (mysteries not to be spoken of,) none being permitted to divulge them upon pain of death.’ Hence even the word μυστηριον (‘mystery’) hath its name, say grammarians, from μυειν το στομα, ‘To stop the mouth’ [i.e., ‘Tell them to shut up!’].

The Eleusinian Mysteries [Initiations held every year for the cult of Demeter and Persephone based at the Panhellenic Sanctuary of Eleusis in ancient Greece] ‘were performed in the night,’ agreeably to the Deeds of Darkness committed in them; so were the Bacchanalia [Roman festival to Bacchus, god of fertility and wine]; and they were both full of Detestable Iniquity; and upon that account, says Titus Livius, ‘were banished out of the Roman Senate and Italy.’” – JOSEPH BENSON, Notes on the Holy Bible, 5 vols., 1811-1818; edited

1. CODICIL

During my Commentary on “The Dispensibility of Children in the Age of Trump” (Mar. 11, 2026), I made reference to the two demonic gods of the ancient world, Ba’al and Molech. These two Satanic entities have as their mutual appetite the torture and destruction of the children of men. I finished the presentation in under an hour and went on my way believing I had done my best, and all was well.

Wrong.

As I wrapped up my business at the coffee house where I often work, I drove to a gas station to fill up the tank and happened to bump into a curb as I slowly drove up. Next thing I knew, my new Michelin tire promptly went flat, and I was annoyed and surprised since Michelins are literally constructed with high-tensile steel cords, the toughest tires on the planet.

Providentially, I got a young man named Richard to change the tire for me as I planted 30 bucks in his 30 plus degree Fahrenheit hands that chilly evening. I thanked God and drove to get dinner and was waited on by a young man named Jorge, a rather nervous immigrant from Mexico. Next thing I knew all I ordered was wrong, and there was much confusion around the entire dinner. After I calmed down, I then spoke Spanish to him to calm him down, and left for home after leaving a generous tip.

Slept reasonably well, but somehow had a sense that something was ‘off.’ After walking Scout the Wonder Dog early in the morning, got my coffee and opened to my YouTube channel to a post by someone who I would soon learn was to cause further and much more serious havoc in my daily routine.

ENCOUNTER. This “Jackal’s Post” had Four Sections: (1) Gracious Introduction thanking me for confronting the Trump Phenomenon; (2) A Correction offered in civil vernacular; (3) A Question about whether or not I can hear Jesus speak things to me; (4) An Accusation that I was “perfomative” in my commentary (play acting), and that I was engaging in theatrics much as a child would, or someone who was seriously “unwell.”

Now normally I would simply delete and block such chicanery, but for some reason, since it was written so well and that there was ‘some truth’ in it – I bit. I began to mutter to the Lord that perhaps there was something to this, and within minutes had “invited” this Messager from Hell into my inner ponderings.

A dark and heavy Spirit of some kind overtook me and I was literally drained of all sense of vigor, motivation, joy, and confidence. I could hardly breathe or get up from the daybed where I had been driven to rest, all of a sudden feeling exhausted even though I had a decent night’s sleep.

I wrestled against this ‘Presence’ for two full hours, rebuking it in the name of Christ, and after much prayer – in Jesus’ Name – it left at the end of the second hour and I was instantly back to my normal strength, clarity and joyful outlook.

Selah.

LESSON. On reflection with the Holy Spirit’s leading, I learned that: (1) My Confrontation of Trump’s (Antichrist’s) Darkness, but more specifically, the entities of Ba’al and Molech, had opened me up to spiritual assault. (2) I have learned to pray in such conditions to pray against the Darkness but always by citing Scripture and stating it in the Name of Jesus Christ. (3) God was completely Faithful to release me from its grip.

To this Final Point. ‘Our Battle is Real, beloved!’ This is not ‘Play Church,’ nor Country Club Christianity for Posers. No, this is as I frequently say it: “Christianity for Grownups.” It is to be engaged fully armored up, ‘unto life or unto death.’

SCRIPTURES. In the midst of my ordeal, the Lord whispered to me as clear as a bell, “EPHESIANS 5:11.” And I was to travel there later in the morning as the Foundation for my Restoration and, I would learn, this “Codicil,” – Follow Up Amendment to the last teaching on Wednesday March 11.

There is a SPIRITUAL PRINCIPLE involved here as I conclude this section summed up in two powerful, conjoined passages.

“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present outcome, that many people would be kept alive [as they are this day]…And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes ALL things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.” – GENESIS 50:20; ROMANS 8:28, AMP

1. HOW WE FIGHT

THE ISSACHAR PROTOCOL. I have for many years now been convicted that True Christians are to follow in the steps of not only the Master, but also of the a Jewish Collective known as “The Sons of Issachar.” Though their mention in Scripture is small, their importance to us all is large indeed.

“And of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs; and all their kinsmen were under their command.” – 1 CHRONICLES 12:32, AMPC

The operant phrase for our instruction here is that these men “Understood the Times,” and could therefore inform the leadership of Israel how to conduct their affairs, both civil and military. In that sense they were serving as a ‘Prophetic Voice’ to the Nation, vital to their Survival and Success as a people.

The Hebrew term for “UNDERSTOOD” is ‘Binah’ [בִינָה֙], derived from a primitive root, meaning: “To separate mentally or distinguish [between true or false, right or wrong, good or evil]; i.e., DISCERNMENT.” NOTE: “בִּינָה (‘binah’) encompasses Intellectual Discernment, Moral Insight, and the God-given capacity ‘to grasp the Implications of Truth.’ It is more than Knowledge; it is the ability to Differentiate, to Weigh, and to Choose Rightly in light of God’s Revelation.”

BLIND SHEPHERDS. After over five years of copiously documenting the utter and nearly unforgivable Loss of God’s Vision of the vast majority of the White Church in America, suffice to say that we are being led by what Jesus Himself defines this way:

“You FOOLS [‘móros’ (μωροὶ )-‘dull, stupid, imbecilic’] and blind men! Which is more important, the gold or the sanctuary of the temple that sanctified the gold? And [you scribes and Pharisees say], ‘Whoever swears [an oath] by the altar, that is nothing (non-binding), but whoever swears [an oath] by the offering on it, he is obligated [as a debtor to fulfill his vow and keep his promise].’ You [SPIRITUALLY] BLIND MEN, which is more important, the offering, or the altar that sanctifies the offering?” – MATTHEW 23:17-19, AMP

‘After ten long years and more of the White Evangelical Church leaders supporting The Beast of Babylon, Donald Trump, I remain astonished at this Bold Rejection of Christ and His Teachings.’

I have already reviewed a number of REASONS for this appalling Dereliction of Sacred Duty to Moral Truth in treacherous ‘Exchange’ for the following TRUMP NARRATIVE. – From an AI Overview (ret. Mar. 13, 2026)

• Judicial Appointments and Social Issues.
• Protection of Religious Liberty.
• Shared Nationalist Agenda.
• “Strongman” Persona and Social Order.
• Perception as a “Chosen” Protector.
• Swayed by Cultural Grievance

THE CALL. We have a much Higher Agenda to follow, beloved, if we are to reflect the shining example of the Sons of Issachar. For that important definition I turn to the careful work of DR. DOUG PONDER, Academic Dean and Professor of Biblical Studies who also serves as Teaching Pastor at Remnant Church in Richmond, Virginia.

His Commentary is titled, “Men of Issachar, Part I – Understanding the Times” (Sola Ecclesia, Aug. 28, 2023; edited). Here is my summary of his MAIN IDEAS.

• OPEN. “Tucked inside one of those numerical lists that readers tend to skip (in a Biblical book that readers almost always skip) is a short verse that has gained a bit of attention in recent years: ‘From Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do—200 chiefs, with all their relatives under their command’ (1 Chron. 12:32). These words describe some of the men who came to David’s aid with a whole heart to establish his kingdom in Israel (1 Chron. 12:38).”

• THE SIGNIFICANCE. “All this makes the turnout from Issachar stand out: ‘only two hundred men’ (and their relatives) next to so many thousands. Yet what they may have lacked in strength of numbers, the Men of Issachar made up for with ‘Depth of Wisdom.’ And that is why they have suddenly come to the forefront. Many Christians sense that a NEW GENERATION OF ISSACHARITES is needed. To be sure, ‘The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh’ (2 Cor. 10:4). Nevertheless: ‘The Church in the West desperately needs Pastors who Understand the Times and Know what God’s people ought to do.’”

• THE NEED. “Recognizing the Need for Wisdom is by no means a novel idea (Eph. 5:15–16). Indeed, libraries are littered with books by Pastors, Evangelists, and Missiologists who insist on the importance of Understanding the Culture(s) around us. For how else can Christians be a City Set on a Hill which shines its Light in the Darkness (Matt. 15:14–16) unless we first recognize where the Darkness lies (Eph. 5:11)? This is why Karl Barth once said, ‘Take your BIBLE and take your NEWSPAPER, and read both. But interpret newspapers from your Bible.’

• THE FALLACY. “Perhaps the First Thing we need to understand about The Times is that the various problems we see around us were not caused by a Single Factor. This should be obvious; however, there is an irritating tendency for certain people to blame everything on just One Thing. (This is normally done to sell you something: ‘I have identified the Single Cause of all things … so buy my book!’) In Reality there is almost never one sinful root that can take the blame for every rotting fruit, and Christians leaders should take care to become more resistant to Silver-Bullet Thinking along these lines. In view of the above, it is better not to go hunting for some Monocausal Explanation for all that ails the West today. Instead, let us survey the whole sweep of Deteriorating Conditions, describing their true nature by looking at them through the Lens of Scripture.”

• ANTIAUTHORITARIAN TIMES. “‘In many ways, Antiauthoritarianism is but an extension of Pride.’ And while it is true that Pride is a problem common to every man in every era, Our Age is unique in that the Antiauthoritarian Spirit has been extended beyond a Rejection of individuals in authority; it now includes the ‘Rejection of the very concept of Truth itself.’ This is because of what Truth is: The Objectivity of Truth means that, if Truth is real, it is a kind of Authority—a Standard that must not only be acknowledged but even submitted to. And this is something Our Age will not endure, for that would mean that some External Authority has control over us. This is why people have adopted the language of ‘Your truth’ and ‘My truth.’ The Insinuation, of course, is that there is no capital-T Truth—no way things actually are. Instead, there is only perspective and the quasi-deified ‘Lived Experience.’”

• SENTIMENTAL TIMES. “‘Closely related to the previous point, we live in a Sentimental Time that prioritizes Subjectivities over Objectivity, emotions over reason, feelings over facts.’ The Rise of Sentimentality has been evident for many decades now, but things seem to be reaching a fever pitch, which is why one Jewish political commentator is forced to remind us incessantly that ‘Facts don’t care about your feelings.’ When we lose sight of this obvious Truth, when we become more concerned with how someone ‘feels’about what God has said instead of the ‘facts’ of what God has said, we will face tremendous temptation to blur the clear lines of God’s Commands and soften the hard edges of His Truth. To give but one example, Christ says, ‘I came not to bring peace but a sword’ (Matt. 10:34). You will never see that verse in a flowery frame or featured in a coffee shop selfie on Instagram.”

• THERAPEUTIC TIMES. “‘We also live in Therapeutic Times in which everyone is a Victim but never a Sinner.’ This Outlook naturally follows the rapid Decline of Belief in God, Truth, and Objective Morality. In the Absence of these Facets of Reality, the Fundamental Problem of Humanity must be completely recast. For if God and Morality do not exist, then our Basic Problem cannot be Moral or Religious; it must be Psychological instead. In this Framework, the Solution for what ails us never includes the Faith and Repentance that Christ made fundamental (Mark 1:15), only Sympathetic Counseling and Psychotropic Drugs. Dr. Philip Rieff put the difference this way, ‘Religious Man was born to be saved; Psychological Man is born to be pleased.’”

• SECULAR TIMES. “Much ink has been spilled on describing our Secular Age. ‘To put it briefly: We now live in a Time when a man naturally (by default) conceives of his life without any reference to God whatsoever.’ It is not simply that the Existence of God is no longer assumed, but that belief in the Existence of God is seen as largely irrelevant or even harmful to living a fulfilling life. ‘In Secular Times, the Individual is the Chief Frame of Reference, and the individual’s own Happiness is the highest possible good, with Self-Discovery and Self-Expression being the key means to achieving this end’ … Indeed, any demands placed on a person—even the easy Yoke that Christ places on our shoulders (Matt. 11:29–30)—are seen as ‘Hindrances’ to our Self-Determined Identity and personal quest for self-defined happiness.”

• PROGRESSIVE TIMES. “By ‘Progressive,’ I do not simply mean that the world is more Politically Liberal than it used to be. That is undoubtedly true. Bill Clinton in the mid-90s—with his balanced budget, his Defense of Marriage Act, his prohibition of openly gay members in the military, and his tough stances on crime, welfare, and illegal immigration—was relatively more conservative than Donald Trump in 2016. Similarly, both Joe Biden in 2006 and Barack Obama in 2012 were against gay marriage, while even Trump was not. ‘This Rapid Liberalization of American Politics is so obvious that it does not need proving, and those who cannot see it are simply those who do not want to see it’ (Jer. 5:21).”

• LICENTIOUS TIMES. “In the 1930s, an Oxford social anthropologist named J.D. Unwin studied eighty-six of the world’s Greatest Civilizations and the shared causes of their Demise. He found TWO FACTORS that were increasingly common right before the collapse of a civilization became imminent: ‘The Loss of Pre-Nuptial Chastity and Absolute Monogamy.’ That is to say, the more a Society discouraged sex before marriage and faithfulness to one spouse within marriage, the more a Society thrived. But once a Culture was ‘Liberated’ from these Mores, they all—within one century or less—abandoned Rational Thinking, regressed to Nature Worship, and either imploded from within or were conquered from without by some other civilization who had not yet descended into Sexual Licentiousness. For those of you keeping track at home:‘THE 1960s was—by all accounts, both from those in favor and those opposed—a Time of tremendous Sexual Licentiousness in the name of Liberation.”’ 

• ANTI-CHRISTIAN TIMES. “And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to speak of our Technological Times, which C.S. Lewis famously noted have traded the need to Conform the Soul to Reality (via ‘Virtue’) for the insatiable desire to Subdue the World to the wishes of Man (via Technique). [Leaving us to] our ruinously Lonely Times, our epidemically Drug-addicted Times, and our Hypocritical, Lying, Overreaching-Government Times … ‘These Anti-Christian Times’ [i.e., ‘Times of Antichrist’] are what urban sociologist and policy researcher Aaron Renn has termed ‘A NEGATIVE WORLD.’”

THE PRESENT MOMENT. “But know this, that in the last days PERILOUS TIMES WILL COME: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.

And from such people TURN AWAY! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.” – 2 TIMOTHY 3:1-9, NKJV

So now that we now much better, ‘Understanding Our Times,’ beloved, WHAT NOW?

1. LAST THOUGHTS

Our Last Days Mission is so much clearer to me now, beloved. Simply stated: ‘Shine God’s Light of Truth to Penetrate This Present Darkness.’ Even though it may seem that we are making no impact at all, ours is quite plainly: TO OBEY.

LAST LITMUS. “Refers to any Single Factor that establishes the True Character of something or causes something to be assigned to one category or another. Often it refers to something (such as an Opinion about a Political or Moral Issue) that can be used in this way: ‘To make a JUDGMENT about whether someone or something is Acceptable or not.’” – Merriam-Webster, ret. Mar. 13, 2026; edited

Our King speaks in incandescent terms about this Last Days Litmus.

“This is the judgment [that is, the cause for indictment, THE TEST by which people are judged, the basis for the sentence]: the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For every wrongdoer hates the Light, and does not come to the Light [but shrinks from it] for fear that his [sinful, worthless] activities will be exposed and condemned. 

But whoever PRACTICES TRUTH [and does what is right—morally, ethically, spiritually] comes to the Light, so that his works may be plainly shown to be what they are—accomplished in God [divinely prompted, done with God’s help, in dependence on Him].” – JOHN 3:19-21, AMP

CODA. So may we all dedicate ourselves, our lives, our posterity, and our sacred honor to the One who calls us to become Light to all this Present Darkness.
