PRÉCIS ON SPEAKING THE TRUTH IN LOVE IN THE AGE OF TRUMP: A SILENT SCREAM TO FLIP TABLES WITHOUT SINNING

THINGS I SEE.  For the first time in over 400 Commentaries, I became very uncomfortable in the last one dealing with “Unity” (Saturday April 18, 2026), since I appeared to become excessively outraged at the Trump Shadow across our Church and State. To the extent that I began to draft this Précis

as response, to look more deeply into my own soul about it.

In some defense, here is the Fount from which my Anger erupts, sometimes like a volcano. ‘I see things,’ beloved, in my mind’s grieving and often angry eye. Here are just THREE EVENTS that drive my concern.

1. I see little ‘Children Screaming’ uncontrollably in the street while their mother or father is slammed to the pavement by ICE Agents, sometimes to fare on their own as the parent is literally dragged away screaming. Or little ones of age 5, 6, or 7 huddled together under a thermal blanket on a concrete floor, largely unsupervised or comforted. And I have to scroll beyond it as it is too painful for me to bear.
2. I also see and hear the ‘Thunderous Silence’ from virtually every White Evangelical Pulpit in America that continues to hold service every Sunday as if none of this were even taking place. And I confess to a level of outrage I have never before experienced or felt. I often blurt out loud to God: “Lord! How can this be! That Your shepherds ignore the cries of “the least of these” year after year after year?’
3. I finally see ‘Donald Trump’ as the vicious Apotheosis of Evil in the world constantly thrown up before us every single day since he first appeared in June in all his hideous, clownish depravity, gliding down that wretched Escalator in Trump’s equally wretched Tower to announce his candidacy for the Presidency of the United States if America. To do what? ‘To make America Great and Rich Again!’ And God’s White Church laps it up like feral cats starved for their part of Trump’s wretched actions.

This has nothing to do with me, though we are all severely impacted both temporally and eternally, beloved. No, my fury stems from watching the innocent victims of theTrump-Church Sedition of all that is good in us. And I find myself wanting to stop it! Or at least slow it down.

I clearly heard the Lord’s Word concerning how He sees all this.

“HIDEOUS!” “Frightful to the sight; dreadful; shocking to the eye; applied to deformity; as a hideous monster.”

Thus do “I see things,” to be terrifyingly clear on these matters at least, ‘as God sees them.’ And I cannot for the life of me ever ‘Unsee’ them, ever.

THE SILENT SCREAM. While serving as professor at Regent University between the years of 1983-2000, I was drawn early on into the then-bristling Pro-Life Movement. As part of that commitment, I helped  found “Regents for Life” and supervise the various activities associated with it, including speaking at various venues and organizing (with Molly Stone) a couple of school buses full of graduate students to participate in the annual March for Life in Washington DC on January 22.

During that time, DR. BERNARD NATHANSON, an American Jewish physician and activist leader in the Pro-Choice Movement came to my attention in a rather stunning set of events. With the development of Ultrasound in the 1970s, Nathanson had the chance to observe a real-time abortion. This led him to reconsider his views on abortion. He is often quoted as saying that: ‘Abortion is the most atrocious holocaust in the history of the United States.’ He wrote the book Aborting America (1979) in which he discussed what he called ‘The dishonest beginnings of the abortion movement.’”

In 1984, the same year I was appointed Founding Director of Regent’s Institute of Public Affairs Journalism, Dr. Nathanson created and narrated what would become a thunderous shout across the abortionist, Post Roe v. Wade nation. It was a a graphic film of an actual abortion called, “The Silent Scream.”

Inspired by then-President Ronald Reagan, the film depicts the abortion process via Ultrasound and shows an abortion taking place in the uterus. During the abortion process, the fetus is described as appearing to make Outcries of agonized Pain and Discomfort – The Silent Scream! [DK: I still tear up even as I write those words, beloved].

AMERICA’S 2ND SILENT SCREAM. As of today, April 20, 2026, I have conservatively and personally viewed over 150 citizen journalist videos of Brutal, Unlawful Assaults on American residents, both ‘Citizens and Immigrants.’ At the same time, I can count fewer than Five Sermons on this budding Second Holocaust by Pastors from 150,000 White Evangelical Churches across America.

Maybe three.

It is as if the Church cannot hear the thousands of heart-rending ‘SILENT SCREAMS’ from parents and children alike being accosted by ICE Brutes on American streets. Nor those emanating from the many Concentration Camps by horrifically abused “Detainees” (i.e., ‘Prisoners of President Trump’s Culture War against people of color’) recorded by several surreptitious citizens.

I turn to a review of the ACLU’S (American Civil Liberties Union) – the organization I have for decades taught to hate. That in favor of the Christian-staffed ACLJ (American Center for Law and Justice) housed tightly at Regent University’s Robertson School of Law. Oh, and their proud Cause Célèbre?

Defending President Trump’ Executive Orders. cf: New York, et al. v. Trump, et al; Alliance for Retired Americans v. Scott Bessent, et al; National Council of Nonprofits, et al v. Office of Management and Budget, et al; Trump v. Slaughter.– To Defend Trump’s highly questionable if not illegitimate Executive Orders!

THE TERRIFIED AMERICAN CHURCH. I have spent the last year and a half – since Trump was reelected in November 2024 – grappling with my astonished but well researched horror of the current AMERICAN EVANGLICAL REALITY:

The White Church Leaders are absolutely terrified of President Donald Trump!’ Selah.

Because once again I could not find a singly focused and documented Chistian Analysis supporting my claim, I turned once again to the wide sweep of an AI Overview of all articles on the Internet that do (ret. Apr. 20, 2026; edited).

AS OF EARLY 2026, the continued support for Donald Trump among most White Evangelical and “Conservative” Christian Leaders, and the hesitation of some to openly oppose him, is driven by a mix of Political, Cultural, and Spiritual factors.’ While some data indicated a slight decline in approval among these groups compared to 2025, a strong foundation of support remains based on the following CHURCH FEARS. 

• Ideological Alignment and Cultural War: Most White Evangelicals view Trump as a Defender against a “Progressive Elite” they feel is assaulting their beliefs and place in American life. They often perceive his actions as a Protection of traditional gender roles, patriarchal structures, and “White Christian interests.”

• Perceived Spiritual Warfare and Authority: Most Evangelical Leaders have portrayed the political struggle as a “Spiritual War,” suggesting that opposing Trump is equivalent to opposing God. This has fostered a “Christian Nationalist Ideology” that views Trump as a “Chosen” figure who is protected by God.

• The “Transactional” Nature of Support: While some supporters are losing confidence in Trump’s ethics, most still remain focused on a “Transactional” Relationship” [Make that read, ‘Pragmatically Compromised’]. They prioritize securing specific Policy Goals, such as conservative judicial appointments, religious liberty protections, and a conservative ideological direction for the nation. Above a clearly Biblical View of such matters. This is called, “APOSTASY”– From the Greek term, ‘Apostasia’ [ἀποστασία]: “Defection from Biblical Truth,” the Penalty for which is, without Repentance, Eternal Damnation).

• Fear of Loss of Power: White Evangelical support is critical for the Conservative Coalition’s Survival [and its core Pursuit of ‘Political Power!’]; many recognize that fracturing this Alliance would lead to a loss of that power – [now the ‘Central Objective of the White Church’].

• Fear of Persecution and “Order”: Many if not most of his supporters are attracted to his ‘Persona as a Strongman’ who will protect them, believing they are being persecuted in American culture and that Trump provides order and hierarchy. 

So what we unavoidably bear witness to is the Spiritually Violent RENUNCIATION of the very life-blood of the Christian Church: ‘The Fear of the Lord,’ in cowardly and blasphemous exchange for ‘The Fear of Man,’ and the subsequent immeasurable Loss of Soul.

JESUS WARNED: ^“For whoever wishes to save his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], but whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake and the gospel’s will save it [from the consequences of sin and separation from God]. For what does it benefit a man to gain the whole world [with all its pleasures], and FORFEIT HIS SOUL [‘zémioó’ (ζημιωθῆναι) ‘do violent injury, to become a castaway’]? 

For what will a man give in exchange for his soul and eternal life [in God’s kingdom]. For whoever is ashamed [here and now] of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” – MARK 8:35-38, AMP

THE URGENT NEED. In stunning contrast to this Travesty in the great Majority of the White Church, I believe Jesus is calling us out to metaphorically and spiritually: ‘FLIP TABLES!’

Then they came to Jerusalem. And He entered the temple [grounds] and began driving out [with force] the people who were^]selling and buying [animals for sacrifice] in the temple area, and OVERTURNED THE TABLES [katastrephó’ (κατέστρεψεν), ‘turn upside down, upset, destroy’] of the moneychangers [who made a profit exchanging foreign money for temple coinage] and the seats of those who were selling doves;and He would not permit anyone to carry merchandise or household wares through the temple [grounds, using the temple area irreverently as a shortcut].

He began to teach and say to them, “Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations? But you have made it a robbers’ den!’ The chief priests and the scribes heard this and began searching for a way to destroy Him; for they were afraid of Him, since the entire crowd was struck with astonishment at His teaching. – MARK 11:15-18, AMP

RIGHTEOUS ANGER. So, the great challenge for you and I in this “Hideous” Age of Trump, where there is so much Cause for Outrage, To Act! Even though White Evangelicals seem quite placid – and to be careful to to operate in ‘Holy Fury’ rather than ‘human anger.’

To help us define that important distinction, I happily turn once again to the online journal created by Reform Baptist theologian, Dr. John Piper, Desiring God. This time we cull from a cogent review by JON BLOOM, cofounder of the ministry in an essay titled, simply: “How Can We Be Angry and Not Sin?” (Feb. 26, 2016; edited). So here we go.

• OPEN. “‘Be angry and do not sin’ (Ephesians 4:26). Is this even possible? Not if perfect, sinless anger is the requirement, since sin infects everything we think, say, and do. But I don’t think Paul had perfect, sinless anger in mind when he quoted King David from (Psalm 44) to the Ephesians. Paul’s point seems to be that: ‘Not all anger Christians experience is rooted in the prideful, selfish soil of our sin nature.’”

• CONTEXT. “There is a kind of Anger that comes from our regenerate, Spirit-directed nature, even if it is unavoidably tainted by our indwelling sin as it passes through the defective filters of our minds and mouths. And because the Holy Spirit through David and Paul instructs us to ‘Be angry,’ it means some things must make us Righteously Angry. ‘So, what does Righteous Anger look like in a Christian?’”

• RIGHTEOUS ANGER. “Righteous Anger is being angry at what makes God Angry.’ And “Righteous Anger” is the right word order. Because God is not fundamentally Angry. He is fundamentally Righteous. God’s Anger is a byproduct of His Righteousness … ‘So, what makes God Angry is the Perversion of His Goodness; the turning Wrong of what he made Right. God calls this Perversion, EVIL.’Evil twists and disfigures God’s glory, Vandalizing what is most valuable, and Profaning what is most Holy. ‘Evil poisons and distorts Reality,’ resulting in the Destruction of Joy for every creature that chooses the Perversion over God’s Good.”

• SINFUL ANGER. “But humans, being evil (Luke 11:13), are not characterized by righteous anger but sinful anger, we Christians too often included. ‘The anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God’ because the anger of man is more concerned with Man than with God (James 1:20). I scarcely need to make this point. You know exactly what I mean. We tend to get angrier over our slighted pride than over the marring of God’s glory. We tend to get angrier over a minor inconvenience than a Grievous Injustice. We are often self-righteously angry like the older brother over his prodigal sibling (Luke 15:28), or selfishly angry like Jonah over the death of a plant while not caring about the welfare of 120,000 people (Jonah 49-11).”

HOW TO BE ANGRY WITHOUT SIN. Having established a solid theological beachhead thus far, Mr. Bloom does us the favor of listing a few details about how to GUARD OUR ANGER.

1. “‘Righteous Anger is roused by Evil that Profanes God’s Holiness and Perverts His Goodness.’ Increasingly we become: ‘Greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked,’ and find ‘their lawless deeds’ tormenting (2 Peter 2:7-8). [‘Especially as it takes among GOD’S people!’] Increasingly we care more about God’s Reputation than our own. Wherever we lack in these is where we must focus our repentance, prayers, fasting, and biblical meditation.”
2. “‘Righteous Anger first sees the logs in our own eyes’ (Matthew 7:5). We are Humbled, Grieved, and Angered by our ‘own’ perverting of God’s Goodness and we Repent before addressing anyone else’s.”
3. “‘Righteous Anger is Grieved, not merely Infuriated, by Evil.’ JESUS did flip tables in the Temple, but He was Deeply Grieved over the Sin [among HIS people] that made it necessary (Matthew 23:37). Anger with no tears over Evil is often evidence of a lack of love in us.”
4. “‘Righteous Anger is governed by God’s Love and therefore slow to be expressed, allowing redemptive Acts of Love to be pursued first if at all possible.’ We truly want Mercy to triumph over Judgment for others (James 2:13), remembering Jesus’s Mercy toward us and that He first came carrying a Cross before coming bearing a Sword.
5. “‘Righteous Anger acts swiftly when necessary!’ Some forms of Evil require us to be quick to speak and quick to act. The slaughter of unborn children, ethnic and economic injustice, abuse (emotional, physical, sexual), sex trafficking, human slavery, adultery, refugee plight, persecution, and other such evils call for urgent, Immediate Rescue! (Proverbs 24:11).

Paul Wrote: “To the weak I became [as the] weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means [in any and every way] save some [by leading them to faith in Jesus Christ].” – 1 CORINTHIANS 9:22, AMP

THREE TABLES TO FLIP. I close this important ‘Précis that’s not a Précis’ (as usual running longer than planned) with a precise specification of just WHAT ANGERS GOD in this Hour of Antichrist, for which we are called to ‘Flip the Table!’

That is to say: ‘Expose, firmly oppose, and eliminate from the Faith.’   

Paul Wrote: “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather EXPOSE [‘elegchó (ἐλέγχετε), ‘bring wrong into the open to rebuke and correct’] them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.” – EPHESIANS 5:11-12, NKJV

The following is adapted from an excellent commentary by Christian author and music artist, CAROLINE COBB (“Would Jesus Turn Over Tables in Today’s Church?” The Gospel Coalition, Apr. 29, 2021; edited).

1. TARNISHED WITNESS. “The Merchants and Moneychangers had set up shop inside the Court of the Gentiles … [But] How were you supposed to worship and pray in this ‘Overcrowded Marketplace,’ filled with the loud shouts of buying and selling, the noise and stench of livestock, the jingling of coins? ‘JESUS RAGED because the House of Prayer for the Nations had become House of Trade!’ (Mark 11:17). God’s Plan was for Israel to draw all nations to His worship, but now the Nations could hardly get in the building because of all the Commercial Activity.” DK: cf. The abominable ‘Christian Merch Industry!’
2. HOLLOW WORSHIP. “On the same day Jesus cleansed the Temple, he cursed a FRUITLESS FIG TREE (Mark 11:12-14). Tim Keller notes: ‘The Fig Tree is a perfect metaphor for Israel, and beyond that, for those claiming to be God’s people but who do not bear fruit for Him.’ The Cleansing of the Temple was an indictment of empty religious activity, lip service, and fruitless ritual. The Merchants had made God’s House of Prayer into a Market, serving a hollow, transactional, ‘Get-in-and-Get-out Worship.’” DK: What percentage of Christians are actually ‘Living the Faith,’ witnessing to others, helping the poor, rescuing unbelievers from Perdition? Likely 3-7%, the Remnant.
3. SELF-CENTEREDNESS. “Jesus quotes Jeremiah 7:11 when He says these Merchants were making the Temple into ‘a Den of Robbers!’ Under the guise of services and resources, they exploited the Pilgrims’ Devotion, often charging exorbitant amounts for their goods. ‘Their motive was Profit and Personal Gain instead of facilitating the Worship of Yahweh. ‘At best, they are twisting Worship into a business opportunity. At worst—and this seems to be the sense we find in Jeremiah—They are Hostile to God and wickedly greedy. Either way, they rob the people of their money and God of the glory he is due.’” DK: If I see another Phil Wickham concert filling a stadium with 100,000 tear-stained young people while supporting (or ignoring) Trump’s Maga Movement, I fear I shall vomit right on the spot!’ “HYPOCRISY:” ‘Hupokrisis’ [ὑπόκρισις]: “Deceit, assuming a false character.”

PROFIT, POWER & PERVERSION. Taken together beloved, the vast majority of the White Evangelical Church community has, without much argument, Committed (or Tolerated) these ‘Three Last Rebellions for their preference for Money, for their Lust for Political Power, and for overlooking even the Sexual Molestation of little children!’

And I tell you on the Authority of the Word of God, for all this Treachery to His Holiness, this: God is Angry, and He is finished with it! “¡Se acabó!” – It is over!” (Audible Word, June 10, 2021; on the Morning of my First Circuit Ride).

“Because of this God will send upon them a misleading influence, [an activity of error and deception] so they will believe the lie, in order that all may be judged and condemned who did not believe the truth [about their sin, and the need for salvation through Christ], but instead took pleasure in unrighteousness.” – 2 THESSALONIANS 2:11-12, AMP

ICE. “The Department of Homeland Security just rolled out a new Website for its City-Occupying Task Forces that looks, more than anything, like a vibe-coded pitch deck. Launched on Friday, April 17, 2026 (HSTF.gov) was first announced on the FBI’s X Account.

“We Don’t Negotiate. We Dismantle!” [i.e., “To Destroy the Integrity of Function”].  ‘The Main Page is largely consumed by a: Macho image, presumably AI-generated gas-masked officers with AR-15 style weapons advancing in formation through a cloud of tear gas.’

Notably, it makes no mention of ICE, deportations, or even immigration. Instead, it frames the Homeland Security Task Forces as ‘Crusaders’ against foreign cartels, drug smuggling, and human trafficking. Yet the effort is inseparable from the multiagency task forces that have kidnapped and detained people across Minneapolis, Memphis, and Los Angeles. ‘DHS formed Homeland Security Task Forces in response to Executive Order 14159.’

That’s an order signed by President Donald Trump shortly after he took office.
