1. FIRST THOUGHTS

I LOVE DENZEL WASHINGTON. For about twenty-five reasons, but TWO stand out. One, he truly loves Jesus Christ and never hides it. Two, he is an astoundingly gifted actor, winner of the Academy Award for his portrayal of Private Silas in the Civil War movie, ‘Glory’ in 1989, and a second Oscar for the role of a corrupt detective named Alonzo Harris in ‘Training Day’ (2001). And a whole lotta’ other nominations. As in at least 10.

That said, let me set the stage here for what follows. I prayerfully selected ‘The Book of Eli’ as a launch point for our last installment since it reflects so closely what all of us are dealing with today, as we are approaching The Real Apocalypse spoken of by the Prophets, the Apostles, and the Messiah Himself. ‘Ay, it’s comin’!’

I frankly believe that this thought was not lost on Mr. Washington when he accepted the role of Eli. Not for one minute. So let’s get started.

CONTEXT. ‘Wikipedia’ tells us by summary that ‘The Book of Eli’ is a 2010 American post-Apocalyptic Neo-Western action film directed by the Hughes Brothers, written by Gary Whitta, and starring Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, Mila Kunis, Ray Stevenson, and Jennifer Beals. The Story revolves around Eli, a nomad in a Postapocalyptic World who is told by a Voice to deliver his copy of a mysterious Book to a safe location on the West Coast of North America. The history of the Post-War World is explained along the way, as is the importance of Eli’s task.” – Apr. 26, 2022; edited

HOW CLOSE ARE WE? Well now, here comes the old Curmudgeon again, ladling buckets of hard news for y’all. But I cannot change ‘The Plan’ just to make folks feel better – except to point you to ‘The Answer’ to all of it. But that’s for later. Here’s pretty much where we are now, as of early MAY 2022.

• THE UNLIKELY. “A Rabbi in Israel is predicting that Jesus Christ might Return in 2022, when astronomers foresee two large stars colliding and creating a light visible from Earth. RABBI YOSEF BERGER of King David’s Tomb in Mount Zion, Jerusalem, pointed to research by astronomers foreseeing that ‘two stars in the Northern Cross,’ in the star system KIC 9832227, will collide in 2022, creating a blast so powerful that it will be visible to the naked eye from Earth. Berger told Breaking Israel News last week that the 12th century RABBI MOSES BEN MAIMON, known by the acronym Rambam [also, ‘Maimonides’], charted the appearance of such light as aligning with the Return of Christ…MailOnline reported that some astronomy experts, such as PROFESSOR LARRY MOLNAR from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, have also predicted Supernovas, or massive explosions resulting from two stars colliding. Molnar said that another Supernova is coming right around 2022. ‘It’s a one-in-a-million chance that you can predict an explosion [like this],’ he added.”– STOYAN ZAIMOV, “Rabbi Predicts Jesus Will Return in 2022,” ‘The Christian Post,’ Jan. 18, 2017; edited

• THE CERTAINTY. “Jesus clearly taught that no one would know the Day or Hour of His Return. But passages like Hebrews 10:25 suggest that Christians will have a sense of that Day’s approaching. In 1 Thessalonians 5:4 Paul says concerning the Lord’s Return, that, ‘This Day should not surprise you like a thief.’ Christians should have a growing awareness that Christ’s Return is imminent [‘impending, threatening, near’]. Jesus was asked on one occasion what would be the Signposts of His Return. Rather than discouraging the question, He gave several Signposts that believers might reference with a growing awareness that the Hour was drawing near. In MATTHEW 24:14, we read of one of the major Signposts, ‘And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations and then the end will come.’ What is exciting is that in just the last 30 years, over 6.5 billion people have seen ‘The Jesus Film’  (the Gospel of Luke put to film by Campus Crusade for Christ). This is just one of many significant events that are going on around the world that is bringing Christ’s Words to their fulfillment. DK’S TAKE. My ongoing controversy with the American Church is no secret to any of you. But let me drill down here to a Bottomline beef that I have with it, focusing this time on its Teachings on the Dangers of The Second Coming that now ‘radically depart’ from the Canon.

1. TEACHING CORRUPTION OF THE PAROUSIA

American Christians have traditionally adhered to a roughly Canonical system of beliefs concerning the Second Advent of Jesus Christ, as proscribed in such passages as Matthew 24, 1 Thessalonians 4, Revelation 1, and Acts 17, to name but a few. But recently, these orthodox perspectives have begun to ‘be degraded’ into something much less sound, vastly more arcane, and frankly destructive of the true view of the Scriptures.

TRUMP, QANON & THE SECOND COMING. I turn now to a superb summary takedown of the ‘New Eschatology’ spawned by the ‘Advent’ of DONALD JOHN TRUMP on the political and religious scene in America. He is nothing less than a ‘Paradigmatic Turn’ in Western history so far. Thus, my sustained attention to the Trumpian Vision of the Last Days that is increasingly replacing the Church’s orthodox teaching of Christ’s Second Coming.

Taken from the work of Associate Professor of History THOMAS LACAQUE of Grand View University in his piece for ‘The Bulwark’ titled, “When the QAnon Apocalypse Doesn’t Come,” published on October 27, 2020; edited – Before January 6, 2021.

As is the case with much of my writing, the quotation is long, but absolutely vital to our understanding of the present Spiritual Peril.

“The countdown is set, the events line up, the End Times are near—you are all prepared for ‘The Apocalypse.’ And then you wait. And wait. And time passes, events go by, and The Apocalypse doesn’t come. The teachers disappear, the Scriptures are pondered, and the surviving believers are forced to deal with the inevitable question: ‘What now?’…

The QAnoners’ Apocalypse: Unsurprisingly, is one of political partisan violence, culminating in “The Storm,” when all of the so-called ‘Deep State leaders’ will be arrested and sent to Guantanamo Bay, including a variety of Democratic politicians, celebrities, and public servants numbering in the thousands, and then public executions and the works. This will lead to some sort of Utopian Aftermath when Trump will bring about ‘The Perfect Society’—though what form that would take is never described. This rhetoric is Apocalyptic in nature and approaches the kind of ideological fervor associated with religious movements—but the kind of religious movements that spawn terrorist organizations. The QAnon ‘Digital Soldier Oath’ [scrubbed] does nothing to detract from that comparison…

What will become of its adherents when QAnon burns out? History suggests that it will not simply disappear. As the late JAMES RANDI, magician and debunker of paranormal claims, put it, ‘The resilience of the duped’ is incredibly strong. Successive Crusades continued their violent attempts to bring about The Apocalypse for centuries. Indeed, The Crusades continue to inspire violence, from Anders Breivik in Norway in 2011 to the Christchurch mosque shooter and his crusades-and-White-Supremacist reference-laden rifle to Donald Trump Jr.’s Crusader Rifle [decorated with a Crusader’s Cross]…

QAnon may die, but its poisonous legacy is here to stay, and in a time of increased threat of Right-Wing militias, may be deadly. Its adherents cannot simply be brought back out of the cold until they reject ‘The Conspiracy,’ its beliefs, and its motives—history has shown us far too many examples of how Apocalyptic movements refuse to die.”

THE GREAT BETRAYAL. This, for me, is brilliant and all-too prescient analysis. Clearly, beloved, we know that Civil War is very nearly here, as the Trump Legacy of violence epitomized in the January 6, 2021, Insurrection continues to spill into the American fantasy of a bloody, ‘Faux Revolution’ to bring about that Perfect Society that The Donald promises.

But the ultimate shame and violent potential of such a Vision is that the American Church buys into it at such alarming levels. A study I have referred to before reported by JACK JENKINS writing for ‘Religion News’ on February 22, 2022, is nothing short of breathtaking.

“The study, compiled from a series of surveys conducted by the Public Religion Research Institute in 2021, gauged Americans’ attachment to QAnon, whose followers are often loyal to former President Donald Trump, by asking whether respondents agreed with three statements associated with The Movement:

1. The government, media and financial worlds in the U.S. are controlled by a group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles who run a global child sex-trafficking operation.

2. There is a storm coming soon that will sweep away the elites in power and restore the rightful leaders.

3. Because things have gotten so far off track, true American patriots may have to resort to violence in order to save the country.

Those who completely or mostly agreed with these statements were dubbed ‘QAnon Believers,’ those who mostly disagreed were described as ‘Doubters’ and those who completely disagreed as ‘Rejecters.’ Researchers discovered 16% of American adults — roughly 41 million people — were QAnon Believers, while 48% were QAnon doubters and 34% rejecters…Their numbers, researchers noted, remained relatively stable throughout 2021.”

DO THE MATH. Now here’s the most troubling Evangelical Reality that I have ever reported in my 40 plus years as an American Christian. That roughly Twenty percent of 41,000,000 equals no fewer than 8,200,000 Christians who are now ‘bonafide QAnons,’ filling up the pews of our churches across the nation. And why is this important, beloved?

TWO REASONS. One, those numbers are far more than enough to swing the 2024 Presidential Election to Trump’s column. Two, and vastly more significant – and alarming: This can only mean that ‘The Great Falling Away’ is in full force today, yet our Pastors remain in abject, presumably terrified, devastating SILENCE in its wake.

The Scriptures are both lucid and severe, as Jesus Christ Himself leaves no room for doubt.

“At that time ‘many’ will be offended and repelled [by their association with Me] and will fall away [from the One whom they should trust] and will betray one another [handing over believers to their persecutors] and will hate one another. ‘Many’ false prophets will appear and mislead ‘many.’  Because lawlessness is increased, the love of ‘most’ people will grow cold.  ^‘But the one who endures and bears up [under suffering] to the end will be saved’…

 But I have this [charge] against you, that you have left your first love [you have lost the depth of love that you first had for Me]. So remember the heights from which you have fallen, and REPENT [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will] and do the works you did at first [when you first knew Me]; otherwise, I will visit you and ‘remove your lampstand’ (the church, its impact) from its place—unless you REPENT.” – MATTHEW 24:10-13; REVELATION 2:4-5, AMP

THE DANGER. I looked at several commentaries to ferret out the real meaning of these passages, and frankly found most of them leaning hard to the softer side of any Penalty for “growing cold.” Not so with the eminent CHARLES SPURGEON in his notes of Matthew 24:12.

Listen carefully, beloved, and especially you Pastors.

“What could not be accomplished by persecutors outside the Church and traitors inside, would be attempted by ‘Teachers of heresy—Many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many’ [i.e., the majority]. They have risen in all ages! In these Modern Times they have risen in clouds till the air is thick with them, as with an army of devouring locusts!…

Iniquity is naturally opposed to Grace, but it is most of all injurious to the Grace of Love. If sin abounds in a Church, it is little wonder if the love of many should grow cold. Young members introduced into the Church after a short time find that those whom they looked upon as being examples are walking disorderly and using lightness of speech and of behavior. Those young people cannot be very warm in love—‘they are led to stumble and are scandalized.’ Older saints who have for years held onto their way in integrity, and by Grace have kept their garments unspotted from the world, see those around them who have come into the Church who seem to be of quite another [spiritual] race, ‘who can drink of the cup of Belial and of the cup of the Lord,’who seem to follow Christ and the devil, too!” – “A Prophetic Warning,” May 9, 1912; edited

Spurgeon’s testimony leads us straight into one of the Lord’s most incendiary warnings ever uttered:

“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe and trust in Me to stumble [that is, to sin or lose faith], it would be better for him if a heavy millstone [one requiring a donkey’s strength to turn it] were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea…where their worm [that feeds on the dead] does not die, and the fire is not put out.” – JESUS OF NAZARETH, MARK 9:42, 48, AMPC

One courageous expositor, JOHN GILL, makes this indictment crystal clear for those who still have a stomach for the Whole Truth of the Gospel of the True Christ:

“Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. This is repeated again, not only to assure the Truth of the thing, but to raise the attention of the mind unto it, and fix an awful impression upon it: the Persic version renders it, ‘from whence thou shall never find redemption’: There is no redemption from Hell,’ as Origen and others have thought.” – ‘An Exposition of the Old and New Testament,’ 9 vols., 1746-1763; edited

IN SUM. Bad theology and compromised doctrine kills faith, annihilates our witness, and slams the Church doors forever shut, since it no longer sheds the Light of Christ, but the Darkness of the Antichrist. Such is the Prophecy of the America of Tomorrow, already setting like caked, drying concrete in the sanctuaries of God.

1. THE TEACHING

SCRIPTURE. “The Lord shall preserveyour going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.” – PSALM 121:8, NKJV

We must never forget that this Promise from God, as with all the others, is ‘contingent on our obedience.’ I know; that is not what we’ve been taught. But the Truth of it is, such a Covenant struck by the King with us requires us to honor it, and Him. Imagine that, beloved.

That said, let’s look at the THREE KEY IDEAS found in this personally reassuring passage, as I go to and fro around the country, planting His seeds as often as possible.

• PRESERVE. From the Hebrew word, ‘Shamar’ [שָׁמַר], meaning: “To hedge around something or someone [as with thorns, to keep marauders away]; to guard, as with a garden (Gen. 2:15; 3:24), a flock (Gen. 30:31), or a house (Eccl. 12:3); to watch over (as a watchman of cattle or sheep); to keep safe, protect a promise.”

• ONE’S GOING AND COMING. Here the Hebrew term is, ‘Yatsa’ [יָצָא]: “To become fair, neat, beautiful or clean; to come or travel abroad; escape [trouble]; to fetch (from perils); to shoot forth and spread about; to carry out [by imp., one’s mission]; also, to bear children; to produce, generate; to bring forth by miracle; to lead out as an army for a particular purpose.”

• FOREVERMORE. Lastly is the Promise of longevity and permanence in the Hebrew word, ‘Olam’ [עוֹלָם]: “Pertaining to long duration, antiquity, futurity; from the root word meaning, ‘what is hidden or concealed;’ also, time immemorial, time past or antiquity; the distant future or eternity; perpetual, without end (of God’s Covenant and Law); by God’s continuing existence.”

COMMENTARY. “‘The Lord shall preserve thy going out, and thy coming in’ – In transacting all the business of life, in going in and out about it; in all ways, works, and conversation; in journeying and travelling; in all affairs, civil and religious; and not only preserve, but prosper in all (Psalm 1:3); the Lord blessing him, coming in and going out (Deuteronomy 28:6); and such, with the poet, are said to go with a good or prosperous foot. And such persons, in the Punic language, are called Namphanians, as Austin observes; who says the word signifies a man of a good foot: And the word seems to be the contraction of, which signifies ‘his good’ or ‘pleasant foot;’ and so one that, wherever he comes and goes, things prosper with him, and with those that are in connection with him: Such an one was Jacob in the house of Laban, whom the Lord blessed, as he says, ‘since my coming,’ or at ‘my foot.’

The Targum is, ’The Lord will keep thy going out to business, and thy coming in to study in the Law’ from this time forth, and even for evermore; for the Lord not only preserves his people in life and at death, but in Heaven, to all eternity; in the utmost safety and peace from all molestations by men or devils, and from their wrath and malice: Not only His purpose and Decree, but His Power and Providence, are the vast gulf between the one and the other; by means of which the wicked cease from troubling, and the weary are at rest (Luke 16:26).” – JOHN GILL, ‘An Exposition of the Old and New Testament,’ 9 vols., 1746-1763; edited

THE CIRCUIT RIDES. So as long as I do my best, however imperfectly, to honor God and Truth, protecting the Canon as a sacred trust, the Lord promises to protect me on my travels, provide for me and prosper the Good Words I bring to those I visit and connect with, for as long as I am on ‘His Assignment.’

And beyond, beloved. As the phrase is used: FOR PERPETUITY – “[Latin ‘Perpetuitas’]. Endless duration; continuance to eternity; continued uninterrupted existence, or duration for an indefinite period of time; something of which there will be no end.” Selah..

Now reconsider the Lord’s Prophecy and Promise concerning the Last Days, just prior to His catastrophic Return: “But [only] the one who endures and bears up [under suffering] to the end will be saved” (MATTHEW 24:13, AMP). Of this oft-forgotten contingency, 17^th century nonconformist theologian ALBERT BARNES proposes with both clarity and finality, the following interpretation.

“‘He that bears afflictions and persecutions faithfully that ‘constantly’ adheres to his Religion, and does not shrink until death shall be saved, or shall enter heaven.’ So Luke 21:18 says, ‘There shall not an hair of your head perish’ – that is, they would be saved. ‘An hair of the head,’ or the smallest part or portion, is a proverbial expression, denoting the ‘certainty and completeness’ of their salvation. Luke 21:19 adds further: ‘In your patience possess ye your souls’ – that is, keep your souls ‘patient;’ keep proper possession of patience as your own. It is a part of religion to teach it, and in these trying times let it not depart from you.” – ‘Notes on the Old and New Testament,’ 1834, 1884; edited

THE DOCTRINE. We cannot escape the insistence of Christ Himself that ‘Endurance and Perseverance under trial’ is unambiguously required to “be saved.” From the Greek, ‘Sózó’ [σῴζω], or: “Saved, healed, preserved, rescued; properly, ‘delivered

out of danger and into safety; saved/rescued from destruction and brought into Divine safety’; material, temporal and eternal.”

Without too much extrapolation here at all: To be raised in The Rapture of the True Church ‘at the End, one must persevere until that End. Jesus taught this!

1. LAST THOUGHTS

As I bring this series to a close, it is so encouraging to note that I have been praying just recently, that God would clearly show me ‘What to do next.’ So I could hardly believe it when I was impressed with a Scripture that I had long forgotten that goes to the very Center of the Circuit Ride Vision.

“So he went in and out [as one] among them at Jerusalem, preaching freely and confidently and boldly in the name of the Lord. And he spoke and discussed with and disputed against the Hellenists (the Grecian Jews), but they were seeking to slay him.” – ACTS 9:28-29, AMPC

‘BE LIKE UNTO PAUL.’ I remember well that first year of my stumbling attempts to follow Christ after my conversion on October 30, 1979, when I uttered a primitive prayer to the Lord about my calling. Went something like this.

“Dear Lord Jesus, I am quite honestly intimidated whenever I think of following in Your footsteps, because, You know, I mean, You’re God! And You’re perfect, which kind of freaks me out. So how about I ‘follow in the

Apostle Paul’s footsteps,’ since he’s human, and imperfect, and a scholar like me. Let me be like Paul, at least as a start, and maybe we can get around being like You a bit later.”

Be careful what you pray, beloved! So to some final KEY TERMS that complete the definition of The DK Circuit Ride Mission.

• SPEAK BOLDLY! From the Greek word, ‘Parrésiazomai’ [παρρησιάζομαι], translated: “To speak or preach freely, boldly, confidently; frankness in speaking, saying freely all that one thinks, all that he pleases; plainness, perspicuity of speech; openness, making thoughts known publicly; freedom [from the fear of men]; therefore, fearless and unhesitating, setting aside all ground of guilt, without constraint.”

• DISPUTE AGAINST THE SYNCRETISTS! Here the term used is ‘Hellénistés’ [Ἑλληνιστής]: “A Hellenist, Grecian Jew, a Greek-speaking Jew, that is one who can speak Greek only and not Hebrew (or Aramaic);  i. e., one who ‘imitates’ the manners and customs or the worship of the Greeks, and uses the Greek tongue; employed in the N. T. of Jews born in foreign lands and speaking Greek.” Therefore a ‘Syncretist’: “Refers to the ‘combining’ of different beliefs and various schools of thought; the merging or assimilation of several originally discrete traditions, especially in the theology and mythology of Religion, thus asserting an underlying [Faux] Unity, allowing for an inclusive approach to other faiths.”

• DO NOT FEAR PERSECUTION! One source sums it up like this. “‘The Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that imprisonment and persecutions are waiting for me’ (Acts 20:23), he says. He is kidnapped (Acts 21:27), beaten (Acts 21:30-31; 23:3), threatened (Acts 22:22; 27:42), arrested many times (Acts 21:33; 22:24, 31; 23:35; 28:16), accused in lawsuits (Acts 21:34; 22:30; 24:1-2; 25:2, 7; 28:4), interrogated (Acts 25:24-27), ridiculed (Acts 26:24), ignored (Acts 27:11), shipwrecked (Acts 27:41) and bitten by a viper (Acts 28:3). Tradition says that Paul is eventually put to death for his work, although this is not recounted anywhere in the Bible.” – ‘Theology of Work Project,’ ret. May 4, 2022; edited

Roger that, Boss. Be like unto Paul. No problem. And no, I have suffered virtually none of these afflictions, save for the hatred of many ‘Christian’ leaders and their flocks, multiple death threats, and the losses of employment and subsequent financial deprivation.

Stuff like that, but nothing like Paul.

ELI’S PROMISE. “[‘The Voice’] told me to carry ‘The Book’ west, it told me that a path would be laid out before me, that I’d be led to a place where The Book would be safe. It told me ‘I’d be protected,’ against anyone or anything that tried to stand in my way. If only I would have Faith.”

• PROTECTED. Again from our Scripture today, PSALM 121:8: ‘Preserve’. From the Hebrew word, ‘Shamar’ [שָׁמַר], meaning: “To hedge around something or someone [as with thorns, to keep marauders away]; to guard, as with a garden (Gen. 2:15; 3:24), a flock (Gen. 30:31), or a house (Eccl. 12:3); to watch over (as a watchman of cattle or sheep); to keep safe, protect a promise.” NOAH WEBSTER (1828): “Saved from injury, destruction or decay; kept or defended from evil; seasoned with sugar for preservation.”

• UNPROTECTED. Here is the best plausible explanation for why God’s Promise of Protection was lifted momentarily. “When [evil Warlord] Carnegie asks him to hand over The Book, Eli refuses and successfully defeats his henchmen without getting even a single scratch on himself. Later on, Eli confides in [the young seeker] Solara about his mission and states that The Book saves him from all harm till he delivers it to its destination. However, when Carnegie traps them and threatens to shoot Solara, Eli finally ‘gives up the book’ in return for her life. ‘The loss of The Book’leaves Eli unprotected, and he is shot and left to die by Carnegie.” – STUTI GOKEHALE, “The Book of Eli Ending, Explained,” ‘Cinemaholic,’ Jan. 27, 2022; edited

Note: But Eli does not die, till his Mission of transcribing the entire Bible by memory, is completed. Then Solara takes over.

JOHN GILL COMMENTS. “‘And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus’ – He spoke the Gospel of Christ boldly, as it ought to be spoken; he spoke it openly, publicly, freely, and faithfully, not fearing the faces or revilings of any…‘But they went about to slay him’ – He being an over match for them; and they not being able to resist him, but being confuted, and confounded, and put to silence, they were filled with indignation; and since they could not conquer him by arguments, they were for slaying him with the sword.” – ‘An Exposition of the Old and New Testament,’ 9 vols., 1746-1763; edited

As I close out this series, and in some ways put a wrap on pretty much all I have written for the past two years and more, perhaps now you know why I sometimes shout. Or pound a table. Or adlib a controlled rant over Pastoral Timidity.

Our Nation is dying, beloved. People are dying. By Covid. By hiding from the Truth. By forming alliances with criminals and apostates. By lying and deception, mostly. And by so much more. I am convinced that The Church is largely asleep in the midst of all this dying and therefore ‘she is dying.’

CODA. Because of all this moral strangulation, I am more and more convinced that America is becoming something unrecognizable, so hideous that I find myself wanting to avert my eyes from watching her ‘Debauch’ a bit more each and every day.

In fact, if I understand the Scriptures that directly apply here, I fear we are running headlong into becoming ‘The Unthinkable.’

BABYLON THE GREAT.“After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, ‘Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!’” – REVELATION 18:1-2, NKJV

Inconceivable! Impossible! America the Beautiful become ‘Babylon the Great?’

DAVID WILKERSON wrote of this in 1973 in his startling book, ‘The Vision.’ Then in 1985, the same year I was told that I would someday write a book on the End Times by a man named KAI SODERMAN, Wilkerson published ‘Set the Trumpet to Thy Mouth,’ in which he proposed that America would be utterly destroyed by the fiery Sword of War.

Here is part of his open in the very first chapter.

“IN ONE HOUR it will all be over. To the natural mind it is insanity to come against a prosperous, powerful nation and cry out, ‘It’s all over! [Judgment is at the door! Our days are numbered!]’ The Church is asleep, the congregations are at ease, and the shepherds slumber. How they will scoff and laugh at this message. Theologians will reject it because they can’t fit it into their doctrine. The pillow prophets of peace and prosperity will publicly denounce it.

I no longer care. God has made my face like flint and put steel in my backbone. I am blowing the Lord’s Trumpet with all my might. Let the whole world and all the Church call me crazy, but I must blow the trumpet and awaken God’s people. Believe it or not, America is about to be shaken and set aside by swift and horrible judgments. Many other praying believers who have been shut in with God are hearing the very same message – ‘Judgment is at the door! Prepare, awaken!’”

Or as I clearly heard the morning I was to launch the First Circuit Ride last June, 2021: “¡Se acabó!”

MY FINAL CHARGE. Like Mr. Wilkerson, I am called to help Awaken a Slumbering Church by guarding the Canon: ‘Eli’s Book.’ Against what Christian author BEN HOWE rightly calls today’s American Church, ‘The Immoral Majority’ (2019) in his book of the same name. To this simple task:

“But [as for] you, TEACH what is fitting and becoming to sound (wholesome) doctrine [the character and right living that identify true Christians].” – TITUS 2:1, AMPC

Heaven and Hell are about to square off on Earth’s Battlefield, beloved. Just be doubly sure you are on the right side of it. Your very life depends on this.  And yes, be sure also to tell your friends about it.
