PRÉCIS ON THE DELUSION OF THE AMERICAN CHURCH IN HER LAST DAYS

SCRIPTURE. “O you foolish and thoughtless and superficial Galatians, who has bewitched you [that you would act like this], to whom—right before your very eyes—Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified [in the gospel message]?” – GALATIANS 3:1, AMP

KEY TERM: “BEWTICHED.” Baskainó’ [βασκαίνω]: “To malign, and by extension, ‘to fascinate’(by false or slanderous representations); to give the evil eye to; overpower [by craftiness]; prop., to gain an ascendancy over by charms or incantation; an operation which was formerly supposed to injure the person bewitched, so that he lost his flesh, or behaved in a strange unaccountable manner; by ignorance, to captivate or exercise evil power over someone, like putting them under a spell; to charm or please to such a degree as to take away the power of resistance.”

QUOTATION. “In an Era of Stress and Anxiety, when the present seems unstable and the future unlikely, the natural response is to retreat and withdraw from Reality, taking recourse either in Fantasies of the Future or in Modified Visions of a half-imagined past.” ― ALAN MOORE, Watchmen (Graphic Novel), 1995; edited

COMMENTARY. “‘O foolish Galatians — Or thoughtless,’as the word ανοητοι may be properly rendered; for it not only signifies persons void of understanding, but also persons who, though they have understanding, do not form right judgments of things, through want of consideration. The Apostle, by calling the Galatians foolish,’doth not contradict our Saviour’s Doctrine (Matthew 5:22,) because He doth it not, εικηrashly, without cause … nor out of anger and ill-will to them, but from an ardent desire to make them sensible of their folly.” — Whitby.

Who hath bewitched, or deceived, you’  For the word βασκανειν is often used for deceiving another with false appearances, after the manner of jugglers; ‘that ye should not obey’ — Should not continue to obey, that is, to be persuaded of, and influenced by, the truth.’  That has been so fully declared and proved to you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth.’  By our preaching; as if he had been crucified among you’ — As if He had said, ‘Who hath so deluded you, as to prevail with you thus to contradict both your own reason and experience?’” DK TRANSLATION: “You know better!” – JOSEPH BENSON, Notes on the Holy Bible, 5 vols., 1811-1818; edited

DK. And yet, beloved, the American Church has largely decided to turn a blind eye and calloused heart to to tell our King: “You are not enough! Your Cross and Your Words are insufficient, so we must seek ‘Another Savior,’ one [ahem], more like us.” Thus has the American Christian outrageously dared to hang the True Christ back on that Bloody Tree! And for this, His Father must as surely rain down Judgment on our Harlotry as an earthly father punish his desperately renegade son.

In neither case to destroy them, but to wake them up and ‘Rescue them’ from Self-Destruction! If that still be possible.
