PRÉCIS ON THE TOWERING IMPORTANCE OF PASTORAL OBEDIENCE & THE CONSEQUENCES OF FURTHER REJECTION OF THE KING’S ORDINANCES

SCRIPTURE. “Thus has the Lord of hosts said, ‘Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion, to each other; and do not oppress or

exploit the widow or the fatherless, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise or even imagine evil in your hearts against one another.’ But they refused to listen and pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder [stiffening themselves in resistance] and stopped up their ears.” – ZECHARIAH 7:9-11, AMP

KEY TERM: “REFUSED.” ‘Maen’ [וַיְמָאֲנ֣וּ]: “Literally: ‘A forceful rejection of an offer or command;’ it is used here to refer specifically to a [direct and sustained] refusal to obey God; to distastefully [or maliciously] refuse to acknowledge; utterly recusant; to deny a request, demand, invitation or command; ‘to decline to do or grant what is solicited, claimed or commanded or required [by one’s Sovereign].’”

QUOTATION. ‘The man that believes will obey; failure to obey is convincing proof that there is not True Faith present.’ To attempt the impossible God must give Faith or there will be none, and He gives Faith to the obedient heart only. Where real Repentance is, there is Obedience; for Repentance is not only sorrow for past failures and sins, it is a determination to begin now to do the Will of God as He reveals it to us.”  A.W. TOZER, Man: The Dwelling Place of God, 1966; edited

COMMENTARY. “‘Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts — Or did speak, that is, to your fathers, and thus he speaks to you now; Execute true judgment’ —I often put your fathers in mind that Judgment and Mercy were more acceptable to Me than fasting, or any external performances … and I repeat the same admonition to you of the Present Age. And let none of you imagine evil against his brother,’ &c. — Neither think ill of, nor wish ill to, nor plot evil against one another.

But they refused to hearken’  But your fathers refused to obey the admonitions of the former Prophets, and were often reproved by them for their refractory disposition; and pulled away the shoulder’ —Withdrew their shoulder from the Yoke of the Law. The metaphor is taken from oxen that refuse to put their necks under the yoke …Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant-stone’ — So that no arguments could make any impression upon them; lest they should hear the Law’ —Of God by Moses, which they were peremptorily required to do, but to do which they as peremptorily refused; and the words’ —The Counsels and Commands; which the Lord hath sent in His Spirit by the former Prophets’ — Inspired and commissioned His Prophets to declare;

‘Therefore!’ — For this Great Obstinacy; came a Great Wrath’ —Which consumed the whole land and burned against the people that had inhabited it seventy years together in Babylon; from the Lord of Hosts —In all which the hand of the Lord was most evidently seen, rendering unto them according to their ways.” – JOSEPH BENSON, Notes on the Holy Bible, 5 vols., 1811-1818; edited

DK’S TAKE. This Primal Covenant struck between God and Man travels across the boundaries of both Old and New Testaments and is most simply stated thus:

‘God blesses and favors the Obedient, and curses and disavows the Disobedient.’

But as I have apparently unsuccessfully argued for years now, the American Church has abandoned this Old Covenant for a New Covenant more suitable to her own desires. One that demands almost nothing from the believer save for attending Church services regularly, paying one’s tithes and offerings, and ‘Avoiding’ the Venal Sins (murder, sexual immorality, drunkenness, drug abuse, and so on).

We may call it: ‘The American Gospel of Least Resistance (AGLR).’

Therefore, to all in the Church, starting with PASTORS AND TEACHERS who continually Refuse and Reject the King’s Command to warn the flocks away from the Spirit of Antichrist that rages through the Land and the Pulpits today, there is only one thing awaiting you:

They made their hearts [hard] like flint, so that they could not hear the law and the words which the Lord of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Therefore, great wrath came from the Lord of hosts!” (7:12).

‘Qetseph’ [קֶ֣צֶף]: “From a base word meaning, ‘A splinter [as chipped off]; rage or strife;’ foam, sore; refers to anger aroused by someone’s failure to do a duty; violent anger; vehement exasperation; just punishment of an offense or crime; ‘Gods Wrath in Scripture, is His holy and just Indignation against sin’ [toward all Disobedient].”

‘This is the One who is about to Return, beloved!’

Not that Gentle, All-Forgiving Lamb that the Church continues to roll out as a Chimerical Band-Aid for wounds so grave they shall thrust the legions of misled, impenitent, Lost Sheep toward The Fire. All due the False Promises from Disparate, Pastoral Non-Sermons.

Aimless. Defenseless. Destined for an ignominious End.

CODA. The burning pen of PAUL’S LETTER TO THE ROMANS shall therefore constitute my Final Argument and Waning to Church Leaders. Scoff at me if you wish, no harm, no foul as they say. But sniff at the Word of God, and well, that is an entirely different matter.

But how are people to call upon Him Whom they have not believed [in Whom they have no faith, on Whom they have no reliance]? And how are they to believe in Him [adhere to, trust in, and rely upon Him] of Whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher?” – ROMANS 10:14, AMPC

Indeed, Pastor, Priest, Prelate: “How ARE they to hear without a Preacher?”
