EARTHQUAKE, SOLAR ECLIPSE & A DIVINE AMERICAN RECKONING: OR NOT?

So, in the midst of a nearly unprecedented, multi-level National Crisis, America is virtually buzzing about the convergence of a ‘4.8 earthquake’ on the East coast with a ‘total solar eclipse on 4.8,’ 2024. Wait, what? C’mon, that’s just sheer coincidence, right? I mean, numbers don’t mean anything anyway in a random universe.

Oh, and the April 8 Solar Eclipse occurs 7 years after a previous one on August 17, 2017 (lots of 7’s there!), forming a massive ‘X’ across the Right-Center of the Nation.

And that’s the rub, beloved. Numbers always do mean something to God, our Supreme Mathematician-Geologist-Astrophysicist. As with: ‘It rained [precisely] 40 days and 40 nights’ (Gen. 7:12). ‘Moses was on Mt. Sinai [precisely] 40 days and 40 nights.’ ‘[Precisely] Seventy weeks are determined’ (Dan. 9:24). Or perhaps, ‘My two witnesses shall prophesy for [precisely] 1,160 days’ (Revelation 11:3).

And on and on it goes: ‘God loves numbers!’ He even inspired Moses to write an entire Book of Numbers!

THE QUESTION. Well, if God is precise about numbers having significance, should we not be as well? Sure, with one seemingly small but theologically massive difference: Um: ‘We are not God, He is!’ And as such, only HE knows all things before they even occur, and what precise dates and locations are assigned to them.

Even more to the present point: ‘What such events, signs and portents actually mean.’

WHAT WE DO KNOW. “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows … And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” – (MATTHEW 24:7-8; LUKE 21:25-26)

God commands us to be attendant to these ‘Signs of His Coming,’ while at the same time warning that we cannot know the Day nor the Hour of His Coming. But ‘He knows, beloved!’ Right down to the day, the hour, the minute, and the second. He has measured it and presided over it and will insure that it shall come to pass.

DK. So here’s my armchair take on this recent Convergence of Events. Just a few tips for imitating the SONS OF ISSACHAR: “They understood the times and had much understanding of what Israel should do. And all their brothers obeyed them.” – 1 CHRONICLES 12:32, NKJV

The following SUGGETED PROTOCOLS are rendered in the King James Version.

• STUDY THE BIBLE! “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

• WATCH FOR SIGNS & SEASONS! “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to ‘escape’ all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:36).

• PRAY FOR UNDERSTANDING! “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5).

CODA. All of this of course is powerfully mitigated by your MOTIVE: To long for the Appearance of His Coming. And while we wait, to deeply desire to do good, seek justice, rebuke the oppressor, defend the fatherless, plead for the widow, and ‘Rescue’ those headed for Hell to His Kingdom.

Bottom Line: Yes, beloved, America is in deep trouble and yes, we are to look for God’s Signatures every single day. ‘But responsibly,’ not running after fairy tales, conspiracy theories, or worse, the doctrines of deceivers and demons.
