NOTES ON THE BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE FOR SURVIVING THE YEAR OF THE BEAST: COSTLY GRACE AND THE PRICE OF PERSEVERING OBEDIENCE (WITH VIDEO)

“‘Costly Grace is the Gospel which must be sought again and again and again, the Gift which must be asked for, the Door at which a man must knock.’ Such Grace is Costly because it calls us to Follow, and it is Grace because it calls us to Follow Jesus Christ. It is Costly because it costs a man his life, and it is Grace because it gives a man the only True Life. It is Costly because it Condemns sin, and Grace because it Justifies the sinner. Above all, it is Costly because it cost God the Life of His Son: ‘Ye were bought at a Price,’ and what has cost God much cannot be cheap for us. Above all, it is Grace because God did not reckon His Son too dear a Price to pay for our life but delivered Him up for us. ‘Costly Grace is the Incarnation of God!’” – DIETRICH BONHOEFFER,The Cost of Discipleship, 1937; edited

  1. THEOLOGY

SCRIPTURE. And you, son of man, say to the sons of your people, ‘The righteousness of the righteous man will not save him in the day of his transgression; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he will not stagger because of it in the day that he TURNS from his wickedness, whereas a righteous man will not be able to live because of his [previous acts of] righteousness on the day when he commits sin.

When I say to the righteous that he will most certainly live, and he trusts in his [previous acts of] righteousness [to save him] and commits injustice, none of his righteous deeds will be remembered; but he will die for his injustice that he committedBut [only] the one who ENDURES and BEARS UP [under suffering] to the end will be saved.” – EZEKIEL 33:12-13; MATTHEW 24:13; AMP

KEY TERM: “ENDURES!” Hupomenó’ [πομείνας]: “To stay under (or behind with); to undergo or bear trials; to have fortitude, to persevere; to remain steadfast (in Faith); to abide patiently while suffering.” NOTE: Strong’s 5278 depicts the voluntary choice to ‘remain under pressure’ rather than escape it. In Scripture this Endurance is never stoic resignation; it is confident perseverance grounded in the character and promises of God. The term gathers ideas of ‘STEADFAST LOYALTY, PATIENT WAITING, AND UNWAVERING COURAGE!’”

QUOTATION. ‘Slavery’s fundamental offense against human rights was not that it took Liberty away (which can happen in many other situations), but that it excluded a certain category of people even from the possibility of fighting for Freedom—a fight possible under Tyranny’ …

Not the loss of specific rights, then, but the ‘LOSS OF A COMMUNITY’ willing and able to guarantee any rights whatsoever, has been the Calamity which has befallen ever-increasing numbers of people. Man, it turns out, can lose all so-called Rights of Man without losing his essential quality as Man, his human dignity. ‘Only the loss of a POLITY ITSELF [i.e., ‘Citizenship’] expels him from Humanity.’”  HANNAH ARENDT, The Origins of Totalitarianism, 1951; edited

COMMENTARY. “Those who despaired of finding Mercy with God, are answered with a Solemn Declaration of God’s readiness to show Mercy. The Ruin of the City and State was determined, but that did not relate to the final state of persons. God says to the ‘Righteous,’ that he shall surely live. But many who have made ‘[Mere] Profession,’ have been ruined by proud confidence in themselves. Man trusts to his own righteousness, and presuming on his own sufficiency, he is brought to commit iniquity.

If those who have lived a wicked life REPENT and forsake their wicked ways, [only] they shall be saved.’ Many such amazing and blessed changes have been wrought by the power of Divine Grace. When there is a settled Separation between a man and Sin, there shall no longer be a Separation between him and God.” [DK: ‘But ONLY then, beloved, only then’]. – MATTHEW HENRY, Exposition of the Old and New Testaments, 6 vols., 1708-1710; edited

  1. TEACHING

AMERICAN FÜHRER. “[Adolf] Hitler claimed the word ‘Führer’ [‘Supreme Leader or Guide”] as an unique name for himself and started using it when he became Chairman of the Nazi Party. It was at the time not uncommon to call party leaders ‘Führer’ but usually the word had an addition to indicate which party the leader belonged to. When adopting it as a single title, Hitler may have been inspired by Austrian politician, Georg von Schonerer who also used the word without a qualification and whose followers also made use of the ‘Sieg Heil!’ [‘Hail Victory!’] greeting.” – EDITORS, “Führer:What Does the Title Actually Mean?” History on the Net, ret. Jan. 12, 2026; edited

I propose straight from what I will heretofore call, “Minnesota’s Gate,” following no fewer than ten years of research, prayerful reflection, and the severest of critical analysis that DONALD TRUMP is effectively the AMERICAN FÜHRER. Further, that he is quite literally Hell-Bent on the Reconstruction of the United States of America as a FOURTH REICH as Legacy to his Mentor, Adolf Hitler.

THE EVIDENCE. To explore some recent and powerful support for this claim, we turn to the work of DR. CHARLES A. KUPCHAN, senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and professor of international affairs at Georgetown University in the Walsh School of Foreign Service and Department of Government.

The title of his essay, Venezuela and Beyond: Trump’s ‘America First’ Rhetoric Masks a Neo-Imperialist Streak,” published in Council on Foreign Relations, Jan. 7, 2026; edited

  • OPEN. “As Donald Trump’s America First Grand Strategy evolves [based on Project 2025], it confronts a mounting tension between Rhetoric and Reality. Trump’s instincts, as well as those of his MAGA base, are ‘Neo-Isolationist’—yet his policies are anything but.”
  • INTERVENTIONISM. “‘American forces remain on station across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.’ Trump has bombed Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen, and attacked alleged drug boats in the Caribbean and the Pacific. He recently attacked Venezuela, capturing President Nicolás Maduro and his wife and then vowing the United States would ‘Run’ the country. Trump has suggested that Colombia, Cuba, Iran, Mexico, and Greenland, could be next. ‘In practice, the President’s policies smack of NEO-IMPERIALISM, not Neo-Isolationism.”’
  • REDUX. “Trump’s 2025 National Security Strategy (NSS) explicitly calls for RETURNING [as with Putin’s Vision for Russia] to an Earlier Era in U.S. foreign policy. The NSS endorses a Revival of the Monroe Doctrine,’ which was promulgated in 1823 as an early articulation of the United States’ quest for Hemispheric Hegemony. The NSS boldly states: ‘After years of neglect, the United States will reassert and enforce the Monroe Doctrine to restore American Preeminence in the Western Hemisphere.’ The ‘TRUMP COROLLARY’ coerces neighbors to prevent mass migration to the United States and to cooperate in the fight against ‘Narco-Terrorists. It envisages a Hemisphere FREE of hostile foreign incursion or ownership of key assets.’”
  • EMPIRE. “Trump also wants to Annex Canada,’ which the United States tried to do repeatedly in the Nineteenth Century. He wants to ‘Own Greenland,’ which Secretary of State William Seward eyed in 1867. He wants to control the Panama Canal, as the United States did after it opened in 1904. And Trump’s military intervention in Venezuela harkens back to 1898, when the United States wrested control of Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and other Spanish possessions – ‘Turning the American Republic into an Empire’ [a large political entity where a dominant central state controls diverse territories and peoples, often through conquest, colonization, or political dominance, typically ruled by a Single Sovereign like an Emperor or Empress, but also sometimes an Oligarchy].’”
  • FUTURE. “The U.S. Electorate understandably soured on the Hyper-Globalization and strategic overreach that set in during the 1900s, clearing the way for the Trump Era. But Trump has dramatically overcorrected. His ‘America First’ foreign policy is out of step with Geopolitical Realities, opening up a wide gap between his Neo-Isolationist rhetoric and his Neo-Imperial policies. His ‘Immoral Crackdown’ on Immigration is disrupting labor markets, while his Tariffs only exacerbate economic insecurity for working families. ‘Not surprisingly, Trump’s political support is cratering.’”

OR IS IT? As we used to say as a kid growing up in the high deserts of South California in the 1950s, “Hold on to ‘yer horses there, hombre, not so fast!” Had a sort of a feeling about that Grand Presumption. Borne out by a surprising, even shocking, Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll  reported by NICOLE RUSSEL (“I Hate to Be the One to Tell You,” USA Today, Oct. 26, 2025; edited).

Russell observed: “‘No Kings’ Protests were proliferating across the country sending a message to Trump about his toxicity and Authoritarianism, as Rachel Maddow said it on October 21. And The Atlantic’s George Packer wrote that MAGA is experiencing a Moral Collapse. On The Daily Show, host Jon Stewart piled on the ‘No Kings’ Protests, calling Trump, ‘King Adjacent’ and the Imitation Crab of Kings. On Real Time with Bill Maher, Maher called Trump ‘An Authoritarian Taylor Swift.’”

Nonetheless: The Harvard-Harris Poll discovered an astounding set of responses from their study, including:

  • DRUGS. ‘86% of Americans and 82% of Democrats, support Trump lowering prescription drug prices for Medicare recipients.’ On Oct. 10, Trump announced a deal with AstraZeneca, a major pharmaceutical company, “To bring American drug prices in line with the lowest paid by other developed nations (known as the most-favored-nation, or MFN, price).” The White House estimates that 9 million Americans could benefit from this.
  • IMMIGRATION. ‘78% of Americans, and 69% of Democrats, support deporting undocumented immigrants who have committed crimes. Additionally, 68% of Americans support closing the border.’ The Biden administration’s policies worsened the border significantly. Democrats finally acknowledged this, but not until the end of his term. Vox, a more left-leaning outlet, finally complained in January that Biden’s border record was “disastrous.”
  • BUDGET. ‘75% of Americans, and 63% of Democrats, support systematically removing fraud and waste from the government. Legacy Media wasn’t just skeptical of Elon Musk’s efforts and the efficacy of what his team accomplished; they really seemed to be opposed to flushing out government waste at all. But voters have always wanted to slash government bloat.

HOW CAN THIS BE? I saw one of his [the Antichrist’s] heads which SEEMED to have a fatal wound, but his fatal wound was healed; and the entire earth followed after the beast in amazement. They fell down and worshiped the Dragon because he gave his authority to the Beast; they also worshiped the Beast, saying, ‘Who is like (as great as) the Beast, and who is able to wage war against him?’” – REVELATION 13:3-4, AMP

‘That’s how, beloved.’ And the sooner you deal with this nearly inarguable Spiritual and Political Reality, you will never come to terms with ‘What Comes Next given what is Already Here’ – and how to confront it as a Christian. Selah.

  1. THE DETENTION CENTERS

“‘Terrible things are happening outside.’ At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. They’re allowed to take only a knapsack and a little cash with them, and even then, they’re robbed of these possessions on the way. Families are torn apart; men, women and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared. Women return from shopping to find their houses sealed, their families gone.”  ― ANNE FRANK, The Diary of a Young Girl, 1947; edited

We begin this dark chapter in America’s history by reviewing a Current Status Report from a reasonably objective AI Overview (ret. Jan. 13, 2026; edited).

BACKGROUND. The History of “Trump Detention Centers” involves a significant expansion and intensification of U.S. Immigration Detention, marked by policies under his First Term (2017-2021) and a RENEWED SURGE during his Second Term (starting 2025), focusing on mass arrests, family detention, and use of private facilities, leading to widespread overcrowding, reported inhumane conditions, and legal challenges over due process and child welfare. Key aspects include increasing the number of facilities used, attempting to end the Flores Settlement for Child Detention [special legal protection for children], and relying [instead] heavily on private contractors like GEO Group and CoreCivic, often resulting in poor standards of care.

In Early 2026: A MAJOR FOCUS regarding Trump’s Detention Centers is the Administration’s ‘aggressive expansion’ of detention capacity and its controversial mandatory detention policies, which face ongoing legal challenges and heavy criticism over conditions and lack of oversight.

  • CAPACITY EXPANSION. The number of detainees in ICE custody has surged since President Trump returned to office in January 2025, from 39,000 to nearly 65,000 by early 2026, with a goal of potentially reaching over 100,000. ‘The Administration has resorted to an array of Non-Traditional [i.e., Medieval!] Facilities:’ Including state-run prisons, military bases, soft-sided tents, and converted industrial warehouses, often relying on private prison contractors to meet the demand.
  • MANDATORY DETENTION.  ‘The Administration implemented a policy that virtually anyone in the country unlawfully is subject to Detention Without Bond hearings.’ This Policy has been widely challenged in district courts, with hundreds of judges ruling against the administration in more than 1,600 cases. The issue is expected to ultimately be decided by federal appeals courts or the Supreme Court.
  • CONDITIONS & OVERSIGHT. Reports from Advocates and some Government Inspectors continue to highlight ‘Troubling Conditions’ and a lack of adherence to Federal Standards in some facilities. There are concerns that the lack of robust oversight mechanisms will lead to an increase in deaths in ICE custody.
  • DEATHS IN CUSTODY. In the first 10 days of January 2026, 4 migrants died in U.S. immigration custody. DK: Multiple reliable sources put the Death Count to date at 32.
  • CONGRESSIONAL ACCESS. Members of Congress have sued the administration after being Denied Entry to facilities for oversight purposes, arguing the administration is obstructing their constitutional role. A federal judge issued a ruling in their favor in a related case in late 2025.
  • SPECIFIC FACILITIES. A controversial facility in the Florida Everglades, nicknamed “Alligator Alcatraz” by the White House, has faced lawsuits over “Inhumane Conditions and Environmental Impacts,” witha Federal Judge initially ordering it to wind down operations, a decision an Appeals Court later put on hold.

THINGS TO COME. Plans to open NEW DETENTION CENTERS in communities across the country, often in converted commercial buildings, have sparked local protests and opposition from city officials who cite inadequate infrastructure. Critics argue that the focus on detention and mass deportations is driven by “PROJECT 2025” Blueprint and an effort to treat deportations “like a business,” while the Administration points to significantly decreased border crossings as a sign of success.

To underscore urgent concerns about these plans is an analysis by a team of journalists from Reuters, TED HESSON ET AL. in a piece titled, “Trump Set to Expand Immigration Crackdown in 2026 Despite Brewing Backlash” (Dec. 22, 2025; edited). Here are a few of their MAIN POINTS.

  • OPEN. “‘U.S. President Donald Trump is preparing for a more aggressive immigration crackdown in 2026 with billions in new funding, including by raiding more workplaces — even as backlash builds ahead of next year’s Midterm Elections.’ Trump has already surged Immigration Agents into major U.S. cities, where they swept through neighborhoods and clashed with residents. While Federal Agents this year conducted some high-profile raids on businesses, they largely avoided raiding farms, factories and other businesses that are economically important but known to employ Immigrants without legal status.”
  • LAWLESSNESS. “Miami, one of the cities most affected by Trump’s crackdown because of its large immigrant population, elected its first Democratic mayor in nearly three decades last week in what the mayor-elect said was, in part, a reaction to the president. ‘Local elections and polling have suggested rising concern among voters wary of aggressive immigration tactics. People are beginning to see this not as an Immigration question anymore as much as it is a Violation of rights, a Violation of due process and Militarizing neighborhoods Extra-Constitutionally,’ said Mike Madrid, a moderate Republican political strategist.”
  • EXPANSION. “In addition to expanding enforcement actions, Trump has stripped hundreds of thousands of Haitian, Venezuelan and Afghan immigrants of temporary legal status, expanding the pool of people who could be deported: ‘The President promises to remove 1 million immigrants each year’ – a Goal he almost certainly will miss this year. So far, some 622,000 IMMIGRANTS have been deported since Trump took office in January. White House Border Czar TOM HOMAN told Reuters Trump had delivered on his promise of a historic deportation operation and removing criminals while shutting down illegal immigration across the U.S.-Mexico border. Homan said the number of arrests will increase sharply as ICE hires more officers and expands detention capacity with the new funding. ‘I think you’re going to see the numbers EXPLODE greatly next year,’ Homan said.”
  • BUSINESSES. The Administration’s planned focus on Job Sites in the coming year could generate many more arrests and affect the U.S. economy and Republican-Leaning business owners.’ Replacing Immigrants arrested during workplace raids could lead to higher labor costs, undermining Trump’s fight against inflation, which analysts expect to be a major issue in the closely watched November elections, determining control of Congress … Some immigration hardliners have called for more workplace enforcement. ‘Eventually you’re going to have to go after these employers,’ said Jessica Vaughan, Policy Director for the Center for Immigration Studies, which backs lower levels of immigration. ‘When that starts happening the employers will start cleaning up their acts on their own.’”
  • HOMES. “‘Federal Agents, carrying out Gestapo-Style immigration arrests in Minnesota’s Twin Cities region already shaken by the fatal shooting of a woman, rammed the door of one home on January 11 and forced their way inside, part of what the Department of Homeland Security has called its largest enforcement operation ever.’ In a dramatic scene similar to those violent Federal deployments playing out across Minneapolis, Agents captured a man in the home just minutes after pepper-spraying protesters outside who had confronted the heavily-armed, masked, and unidentifiable Agents. Along the residential street, protesters honked car horns, banged on drums, and blew whistles in attempts to disrupt the operation. Video of the Clash showed some Agents pushing back protesters while a distraught woman later emerged from the house with a DOCUMENT that Federal Agents presented to arrest the man. Signed by an Immigration Officer, the document — unlike a warrant signed by a judge — does NOT AUTHORIZE FORCED ENTRY into a private residence. A warrant signed by an Immigration Officer only authorizes arrest in a public area.” – REPORTER, “Ice Expands the Use of Forced Entry into Private Homes Without a Judicial Warrant to Capture a Resident,” Milwaukee Independent, Jan. 12, 2026; edited

“‘Because lawlessness is increased, the love of most people will grow cold’ …  Let no one in any way deceive or entrap you, for that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first [that is, the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians], and the MAN OF LAWLESSNESS is revealed, the son of destruction [the Antichrist, the one who is destined to be destroyed], who opposes and exalts himself [so proudly and so insolently] above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he [actually enters and] takes his seat in the temple of God, publicly proclaiming that he himself is God.

Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I was telling you these things? And you know what restrains him now [from being revealed]; it is so that he will be revealed at his own [appointed] time. For the MYSTERY OF LAWLESSNESS [rebellion against divine authority and the coming reign of lawlessness] is already at work; [but it is restrained] only until he who now restrains it is taken out of the way.” – MATTHEW 24:12; 2 THESSALONIANS 2:3-7, AMP

  1. LAST THOUGHTS

BARBARISM. “The Manners of a Barbarian. Savageness; Cruelty; Ferociousness; Inhumanity. A man in his rude, savage state; an uncivilized person.” – NOAH WEBSTER, American Dictionary of the English Language, 1828; edited

I have only scratched the surface of the heinously Unconstitutional Violent Assaults against American citizens, documented immigrants, and undocumented individuals alike – with virtually No Due Process and the concomitant, Renegade Refusal of ICE Agents to listen to verifiable claims of legal status.

A Fourth Reich in America is no longer on its way; it is right here, right now!

The only thing left for Trump to fully qualify as the American Führer is for those “Detained” to become “DISAPPEARED” in large numbers, with no ability to track where they have gone.

Oh, wait, this just in!

THE VANISHINGS. “The exact number of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees who have ‘Disappeared’ by early 2026 is Unknown, as the U.S. government does not provide this specific tracking information. Reports from civil rights organizations, lawyers, and media outlets indicate that hundreds, and possibly thousands, of individuals have become difficult or impossible to locate within the system, often dropping out of the public ICE online database…

‘Alligator Alcatraz,’ reports indicated that as of late August 2025: ‘Approximately two-thirds of the 1,800 Detainees held there in July had VANISHED from ICE’s online system, leaving families and attorneys without answers’…

‘In March 2025, the Trump Administration began “Renditioning Migrants” to a high-security prison in El Salvador (CECOT) without due process or notification to counsel/relatives.’ Advocates believe around 288 people were sent, but the exact number and identities have not been publicly confirmed by the U.S. or Salvadoran governments. As of August 2025, 35 Salvadoran men were believed to still be held there…

A crowd-sourced website called the United States Disappeared Record uses media reports: ‘Over 5,700 individuals who were “DISAPPEARED” by ICE” since January 20, 2025, noting that many remain with an “Unknown” location status.’” AI OVERVIEW, ret. Jan. 13, 2026; edited

Any Questions, PASTORS? Something not clear here?

EPITAPHS FROM MINNESOTA. In a heartbreaking series of TEXTS from citizens from that ICE Beleaguered City, I end with these in the shameless attempt to break some Pastoral Hearts this time. No yelling here, just offered “With tears,” as DR. FRANCIS SCHAEFFER so poignantly used to say it so often.

“Notice that we are not hearing much out of Minneapolis? I copied these Comments from a Thread moments ago. I’m here in Minneapolis. This is my first-hand account.

They are attacking children and teachers with tear gas at high schools during afternoon release. This caused city schools to go to distance learning for the next 4 weeks.

They are knocking door to door, and demanding papers. If you are not white and refuse, you are immediately thrown into a truck and taken to a Detention Center. If they figure out you’re a citizen before you get there, they just pull over wherever and dump you out. It’s currently in the 20’s °F.

They went through a local hospital and took patients out of hospital beds.

They are flippantly breaking down doors using address lists that are outdated and citizens’ houses are being broken into and then they just leave and nothing is done to help when they’re wrong

If you have any Left-leaning bumper stickers and you’re sitting at a red light, they will ram you from behind, pushing you into oncoming traffic. 3 wrecks have been caused this way that I know of.

People are being dragged out of jobs. Many restaurants are now closed or reduced hours in Mpls. & St. Paul. Many businesses have reduced hours.

The airport has ICE agents checking papers for flyers and employees.

And that’s all I have energy to type out. But it’s wayyyyy more than that.

I also live in Minneapolis.

Think of it this way: We have approximately 600 police officers with the MPD that cover the entirety of the city. 2,000 ICE agents were sent here originally, and there are reportedly 1,000 more due to be deployed here. That is equal to FIVE TIMES the amount of existing city officers we have. In what world do we need 3,000 poorly trained, incompetent, masked Terrorists in our city?

These Goons are literally everywhere. I live just over a mile from where Renee Good was murdered, and I can’t leave my house without seeing ICE. They are picking people off the streets for no reason other than the color of their skin; they are breaking into my neighbors’ homes with no judicially signed warrants, and they are beating and abducting those who do not comply.

The fact that there are people in this very city who still support these ‘Agents’ larping as Nazi soldiers and spewing the ‘Comply or Die!’ Rhetoric is absolutely infuriating.

I hope the lawsuit filed by our Attorney General leads to some good news, but it is becoming difficult to hold on to hope in this city.

This is from a family member who lives in MN.

Thank you, Honey. Yesterday I was so tired from the stress and sorrow that I was in bed by 8:00. Today we were involved in a ‘GET ICE OUT!’ Protest. Everyone was so ‘charged’ as we were standing on snow/ice in high winds equaling 0* out with our signs. These Protests fuel us with energy about change. Over 400 showed up in suffering spirits but still feeling like we are going to make a difference. The world sees him as a deranged Hitler. We are trying to help some families get food who are too frightened to leave their homes. (Working with a church in our neighborhood). We lost one employer of our Co Op when ICE came into the kitchen to remove him. 😢 Being involved gives us the energy to fight back.

Take care sweetheart.”

CODA. Immigration Czar TOM HOMAN just yesterday declared to the news media: “There will be ‘more bloodshed’ unless we decrease the hateful rhetoric.” Online writer Mindy Fischer translated for us: “The murder of unarmed mothers will continue until morale improves.”

Thus, my Justifiable Tirades against our Church Leaders for not taking a firm and righteous stand on behalf of the increasingly Oppressed. Many of whom I am convinced will be effectively murdered in the weeks and months directly ahead. ‘Yet, they do not speak out.’

Perhaps the indelible words attributed to MARTIN LUTHER (c. 1530) will help them away from their Fatal Indifference.

“If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every proportion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the World and the Devil are at that Moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. ‘Where the Battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved, and to be steady on all the battlefield besides, is mere flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point.’”

THE KEY: DIG IN for the Long Haul! And ask God what YOU are to do. He Promises: “I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” – PSALM 32:8, AMPC
