NOTES ON THE CRY FROM THE REMNANT: AMERICA’S COMING DICTATORSHIP UNDER DONALD TRUMP – WITH VIDEO

  1. THE TEACHING

SCRIPTURE. “Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on and loving-kindness for us, for we are exceedingly satiated with contempt. Our life is exceedingly filled with the scorning and scoffing of those who are at ease and with the contempt of the proud (irresponsible tyrants who disregard God’s law).” – PSALM 123:3-4, AMPC

KEY TERMS:

  • CONTEMPT. ‘Buz’ [בֽוּז׃]: “‘To disrespect or utterly despise; to shame;’ the act of detestation; of viewing or considering and treating as mean, vile and worthless; disdain; hatred of what is mean or deemed vile. This word is one of the strongest expressions of a mean opinion which the language affords.”
  • SCORN. ‘Laag’ [הַלַּ֥עַג]: “‘To deride (as if mocking a foreigner);’ to speak unintelligibly (in derision); to laugh or scoff at; extreme contempt; that disdain which springs from a person’s opinion of the meanness of an object, and a consciousness or belief of his own superiority or worth.”
  • PROUD. ‘Yanah’ [נִינָ֣ם]: “A primary root word meaning, ‘To rage or be violent;’ to suppress or maltreat [as with a tyrannical oppressor]; to destroy, thrust out [from a community, as with ostracization]; to treat strangers or the poor brutally or ruthlessly; refers to those who are arrogant, haughty or supercilious; having inordinate self-esteem; possessing a high or unreasonable conceit of one’s own excellence, either of body or mind.” 

QUOTATION. “‘The president is a Nationalist, which is not at all the same thing as a Patriot.’ A Nationalist encourages us to be our worst, and then tells us that we are the best. A Nationalist, ‘although endlessly brooding on power, victory, defeat, revenge,’ wrote Orwell, tends to be ‘uninterested in what happens in the real world.’ Nationalism is Relativist, since the only truth is the resentment [they] feel when [they] contemplate others. As the novelist Danilo Kiš put it, ‘Nationalism ‘has no universal values, aesthetic or ethical.’ A Patriot, by contrast, wants the nation to live up to its ideals, which means asking us to be our best selves. COMMENTARY. “‘Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease.’ – That are in easy and affluent circumstances; abound in the things of this world, and have more than heart can wish; have no outward trouble, as other men, or as the saints have; nor any uneasiness of mind, on account of sin and their eternal state: they have been at ease from their youth. ‘Satan, that has the possession of them, keeps their goods in peace; and their consciences are seared as with a red hot iron, and they are past feeling.’ However, they are far from having any true solid peace of mind: And such persons are generally scorners of the saints, and load them with their gibes and jeers in a most insolent manner; which makes it very irksome and grievous to bear.

‘And with the contempt of the proud.’ – Who are proud of their natural abilities; of their wealth and riches, and of their honours and high places: And such are generally scorners, and deal in proud wrath; and, through their pride, persecute the poor saints with their reproaches, and by other ways; see Proverbs 21:24. Some understand by these characters, ‘that are at ease,’ or ‘quiet’ [or ‘solicitously silent!’]and are ‘proud,’ or ‘excellent,’ as the phrases may be rendered, such described by them as are the objects. II. AMERICA CHOOSES HER KING

Well now, where shall I begin? You already know where I stand on the distinguished Yale Professor Snyder’s indictment of DONALD TRUMP as a “Nationalist.” An expert on Authoritarianism and the Holocaust, we may easily make that read in the Hebrew vernacular of the theology contained in our Scripture for today:

A ‘Tyrant!’ – “[One characterized by the] arbitrary or despotic exercise of power; the exercise of power over subjects and others with a rigor not authorized by law or justice, or not requisite for the purposes of government. 1. Hence ‘Tyranny’ is often synonymous with cruelty and oppression. 2. Cruel government or discipline; as the tyranny of a master. 3. Unresisted and cruel power. 4. Absolute monarchy cruelly administered. 5. Severity; rigor; inclemency.” –  NOAH WEBSTER, American Dictionary of the English Language, 1828; edited

THE BRIMMING CRISIS. No matter the millions of words spent on trying to warn a Nation of the impending Catastrophe under a Second Presidency of Mr. Trump, both America and her reprobate, cowardly Church refuse to budge a single inch away from this Despot.

Which quickly brings to mind an Old Testament Template for such condition:

“Now it came to pass when Samuel was old that he made his sons judges over Israel. The name of his firstborn was Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beersheba. But his sons did not walk in his ways; they turned aside after dishonest gain, took bribes, and perverted justice.

Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah, and said to him, ‘Look, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. ‘Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.’ But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, ‘Give us a king to judge us.’So Samuel prayed to the Lord. And the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.’

According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt, even to this day—‘with which they have forsaken Me and served other gods’—so they are doing to you also. Now therefore, heed their voice. However, you shall solemnly forewarn them, and show them the behavior of the king who will reign over them.’

So Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who asked him for a king. And he said, ‘This will be the behavior of the king who will reign over you:

He will take your sons and appoint them for his own chariots and to be his horsemen, and some will run before his chariots. He will appoint captains over his thousands and captains over his fifties, will set some to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and some to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. He will take your daughters to be perfumers, cooks, and bakers. And he will take the best of your fields, your vineyards, and your olive groves, and give them to his servants.He will take a tenth of your grain and your vintage, and give it to his officers and servants. And he will take your male servants, your female servants, your finest young men, and your donkeys, and put them to his work. He will take a tenth of your sheep. And you will be his servants.

‘And you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and the Lord will not hear you in that day.’” – 1 SAMUEL 8:1-18, NKJV

If you cannot perceive the devastating relevance of this passage to the America of today, you must pray and study more intensely than ever before. But let me proceed to some of my own thoughts on those implications should you find it difficult to assess them.

TRUMP’S TWO LAST AGENDAS. Not for one single moment putting aside the now-prophetic Trumpet Blast from his own lips, “I am your retribution!” I post brief summaries of PROJECT 2025 and AGENDA 47 below. Church: Let there be no doubt whatsoever before the Judgment Seat of Christ what you are approving!

  • AGENDA 47. Agenda 47 (styled by the Trump campaign as Agenda47) is a package of proposals that Republican candidate Donald Trump states he would implement if elected as the 47th president of the United States. ‘Common themes among the proposals include a wide-ranging increase in the personal power of the president, the removals of checks and balances on executive power, and culture war issues’ … The plans include constructing ‘Freedom Cities’ on empty federal land, investing in flying car manufacturing, introducing baby bonuses to encourage a baby boom, implementing protectionist trade policies, and over forty others. Seventeen of the policies that Trump says he will implement if elected would require Congressional approval. Some of his plans are legally controversial, such as ending birthright citizenship, and may violate the Constitution.” – EDITORS, Wikipedia, June 8, 2024; edited

CONSTITUTIONAL ‘COUP D’ÉTAT.’ Permit me to sum up this section with a superb analysis by JAY MICHEALSON, writing for Rolling Stone: “The Constitutional Crisis is Real: Here’s How It Will Play Out” (Jan. 4, 2024; edited).

“‘America is facing its greatest Constitutional Crisis since the Civil War.’ I know, journalists exaggerate sometimes. But as rock critic Greil Marcus said of punk rock half a century ago, this is actually happening. And if sanity doesn’t prevail, this Crisis will affect all of our lives, whether we are paying attention to it or not.

Is this really ‘unprecedented,’ as journalists like to say? Here’s the evidence. There has never been a major presidential candidate on trial, let alone charged with 91 criminal counts in four cases, as well as a massive civil fraud case against his business. Our Constitution doesn’t provide for this situation. There has never been a presidential candidate who attempted a coup, or whatever it is that former President Donald Trump tried to do on January 6, 2021; and while the 14th Amendment bans someone who has ‘engaged in insurrection or rebellion,’ state courts are divided on whether that applies to Trump. And there has never been a presidential candidate who has proposed specifically unconstitutional and undemocratic actions, as Trump has now promised to undertake.

‘Finally, and perhaps most importantly, there has never been a time at which at least a third of the country believes lies as big as the ones Trump continues to tell: That the 2020 election was stolen from him by massive fraud, that there is a vast governmental conspiracy against him, that all the charges are fake. The Constitution never contemplated such a vast campaign of Mass Deception.’”

IN SUM. Given the accumulated, documented evidence, it is beyond appalling that The American Church not only does not speak out against this Spiritual and Constitutional Treachery, but in many cases ‘sponsors it!’ Therefore, I conclude with the disastrous implications of that massive Biblical Fail.

III. LAST THOUGHTS

Moving back to the inescapable Parallel between King Saul and President Trump, the painful and immediately prescient Warning here is summarized eloquently by Bible scholar WILLIAM MACDONALD:

“It was God’s intention, of course, that He Himself should be the King of Israel. His people were to be holy and not like any other nation on earth. But they didn’t want to be different: They wanted to conform to the world. Samuel was grieved by such a request, but the Lord told him to do as they said. ‘After all, they had not rejected the Prophet, but the Lord!’” – Believer’s Bible Commentary, 1995, p. 302; edited

The Consequence: When you cry on in that Day of days realizing your terrible error and sin, “The Lord will not hear you in that day!”

CODICIL. ‘As with Israel some 3,000 years ago, so shall it be for America in 2025:’ Should the people ‘reelect’ the False King they desire in rejection of the True King they no longer desire, ‘the Lord shall move against His own House first’ (1 Peter 4:17).

Here are just a few examples of the fulfillment of that Promise to remove Lampstands in the Last Days’ (Revelation 2:5). There are many, many more.

  • MARS HILL CHURCH. This Seattle megachurch was taken down in 2014 after the still unrepentant Pastor Mark Driscoll faced multiple allegations of racketeering and verbally abusive and coercive behavior toward elders and church staff.
  • HILLSONG CHURCH. Amid a series of financial and staff crises involving sexual misconduct in 2022, led to the resignation of its leader, celebrity Pastor Terry Crist. The Australian Evangelical powerhouse has shed more than half its churches and losing its influence overseas and in America.

WHY? Because, beloved, The Church has preferred the World Spirit over the Holy Spirit. Indeed, preferring the ‘Biblical Antichrist’ who is about to seize the bristling nuclear-armed military power of the United States of America for his own purposes.

Neither shall America nor the entire Earth ever be the same again.

And let us not forget for even one moment should you decide ‘To stand:’ “If the world hates you [and it does], know that it has hated Me before it hated you.” – JESUS OF NAZARETH, Matthew 15:18, Amplified; c. 31 AD

Therefore, gird yourselves for battle, trim your lamps, and be ready to Speak Truth to Darkness, offer Rescue to the willing, and Cover for your loved ones – ‘Till He Comes’ – to sweep us instantly upward into the clouds, to be with Him forever and ever!
