PRÉCIS ON THE DIVINE COVER OVER THE REMNANT: GOD’S REWARD TO THE COURAGEOUS WHO STAND IN THE EVIL DAY

SCRIPTURE. ‘If it had not been the Lord Who was on our side’—now may Israel say—If it had not been the Lord Who was on our side when men rose up against us, ‘Then they would have quickly swallowed us up alive when their wrath was kindled against us; Then the waters would have overwhelmed us and swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us; Then the proud waters would have gone over us.

‘Blessed be the Lord, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth! We are like a bird escaped from the snare of the fowlers;’ the snare is broken, and we have escaped! Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” PSALM 124:1-8, AMPC

KEY TERM: “ESCAPED!” ‘Malat’ [מָלַט]: “The primitive root word has the sense of being smooth, i.e., ‘escaping through slipperiness;’ to deliver oneself [or be delivered, saved, freed from danger]; as with the deliverance of the needy from affliction or escape from the threat of death; to be preserved [as with a remnant to be spared from judgment].”

QUOTATION. “‘Courage is the starting point of everything good.’ To love another is to automatically feed the Fire of Courage. We cannot be humiliated when we are fighting for someone or something we love. We will not give up when we are fighting for loved ones. As we evolve, our loved ones extend out from our family to include all of humanity. Courage and Confidence will grow over the years with practice and self-awareness. We are never alone. God will help us. Such is Courage which gains respect from others. More importantly, we gain respect for ourselves.” ― DONNA GODDARD, The Love of Devotion, 2014; edited

COURAGE. “[Latin, the heart.] ‘Bravery; intrepidity;’ that quality of mind which enables men to encounter danger and difficulties with firmness, or without fear or depression of spirits; valor; boldness; resolution. It is a constituent part of fortitude; but fortitude implies patience to bear continued suffering.” – NOAH WEBSTER, American Dictionary of the English Language, 1828; edited

COMMENTARY. “God suffers the enemies of His people sometimes to prevail very far against them, that His power may be seen the more in their deliverance. Happy the people whose God is Jehovah, a God all-sufficient. Besides applying this to any particular deliverance wrought in our days and the ancient times, we should have in our thoughts the great work of Redemption by Jesus Christ, by which believers were rescued from Satan.” – MATTHEW HENRY, Exposition of the Old and New Testaments, 6 vols., 1708-1710; edited

DK. Inarguably, one of the greatest tragedies in the history of the American Church is her undeniably breathtaking ‘Loss of Courage to Stand for Righteousness’ in these Last Days. It has stolen the very heart out of God’s House, left the sanctuaries unprotected from the virulence of False Doctrines to virtually dance up and down the aisles, and destroyed any possibility of an impeccable Witness of Truth and Honor to a Nation. A Nation already perilously lost from her Biblical Moorings for generations now.

If I had to put a name to it, I would say that this is the PROFILE OF THE GREAT FALLING AWAY (or ‘Apostasy’) of the Last Times prophesied by the Apostles and the Messiah Himself.

  • JESUS THE CHRIST. At that time many will be offended and repelled [by their association with Me] and will fall away [from the One whom they should  trust] and will betray one another [handing over believers to their persecutors] and will hate one another.” – MATTHEW 24:10, AMP
  • PAUL THE APOSTLE. Let no one in any way deceive or entrap you, for that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first [that is, the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians], and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction [the Antichrist, the one who is destined to be destroyed].” – 2 THESSALONIANS 2:3, AMP
  • JESUS VIA JOHN THE APOSTLE. But I have this [charge] against you, that you have left your first love [you have lost the depth of love that you first had for Me]. So remember the heights from which you have fallen, and repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will] and do the works you did at first [when you first knew Me]; otherwise, I will visit you and remove your lampstand (the church, its impact) from its place—unless you repent. REVELATION 2:4-5, AMP
  • JESUS STRAIGHT AHEAD: “For false Christs and false prophets will appear and they will provide great signs and wonders, ‘so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect (God’s chosen ones).’” – MATTHEW 24:24, AMP

THE DIVINE COVER. But for theRighteous Remnant’ who refuse on threat of loss or even death to bend a knee to the Person or Spirit of Antichrist, there is this Great Promise. I will leave the interpretation to God, but for me its impenetrable meaning is crystalline clear. This despite thousands of efforts to allegorize, reimagine or bend it to meet human definition.

The Prophet and the Messiah declare together as One:

“Except the Lord of hosts had left us a very small remnant [of survivors], we should have been like Sodom, and we should have been like Gomorrah … Keep awake then and watch at all times [be discreet, attentive, and ready], praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy ‘to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place,’ and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.” – ISAIAH 1:9; LUKE 21:36, AMPC

Neither shall all the gates of hell nor the philosophies of men nor all the shadows of time’s turnings prevail against this inviolable Divine Covenant. Not ever!  Selah.
