PRÉCIS ON THE GRAND REUNION: THE DIVINE MASTER PLAN OF THE AGES

SCRIPTURE. “To me, [though I am] the very least of all the saints (God’s people), this grace [which is undeserved] was graciously given, to proclaim to the Gentiles the good news of the incomprehensible riches of Christ [that spiritual wealth which no one can fully understand], and ‘to make plain [to everyone] the plan of the mystery [regarding the uniting of believing Jews and Gentiles into one body]’ which [until now] was kept hidden through the ages in [the mind of] God who created all things.” – EPHESIANS 3:8-9, AMP

KEY TERM: “THE PLAN OF MYSTERY.” ‘Mustérion’ [μυστήριον]: “Derives from a term meaning ‘A secret fellowship’[that remains silent and incomplete until a spiritual initiation into sacred religious rites takes place];beyond human insight (outside that fellowship); specifically, ‘The Gospel’ [in its eschatological fullness]; i.e., the Counsels of God, once hidden but now revealed in the Christian Revelation generally, along with its particular truths or details.”

COMMENTARY. “‘To make all men.’ –  All those to whom the Apostle was sent.
See; or, to enlighten them; i.e. ministerially, Acts 26:18; as to enlighten them principally belongs to Christ, John 1:9.

‘What is the fellowship of the mystery.’ – Or Communication of the Mystery, viz. concerning the salvation of the Gentiles without circumcision, or the works of the Law which God now made known by Paul’s ministry, contrary to what the Jews believed. ‘Which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God.’ – Not revealed to men as to the circumstances and manner of it, but hid in the mind and purpose of God: see the like, Ephesians 1:9.

‘Who created all things by Jesus Christ.’ – This may be understood either of the First Creation, or the Second, or immediately of the First, and by that of the Second; as God created all things at first, (and so both Jews and Gentiles), and gave them their being, by Christ, John 1:3; so ‘He recreates, regenerates, and gives them a New Being, by Christ, that they may be of the SAME BODY under Him:’ see the like, 2 Corinthians 4:6.” – MATTHEW POOLE, English Annotations on the Holy Bible, 1685; edited

DK. It is absurd to treat so massive a subject in so brief a space, but then so was it beyond absurdity by human reasoning, that God would condescend to offer us dust dwellers direct communion with Him. First by the Law, and then by the Son. And finally, more breathtakingly ultimately, by that nearly inexplicable ‘Grand Rejoining of Jew and Gentile’ at the End of History itself.

“Now if their [the Jews] stumbling (their lapse, their transgression) has so enriched the world [at large], and if [Israel’s] failure means such riches for the Gentiles, ‘think what an enrichment and greater advantage will follow their full reinstatement!’” – ROMANS 11:12, AMPC

The mind rending point here is that at The Eschaton, there shall be a GRAND MARRIAGE of not only the Bride of Christ with their Royal Husband, but a Marriage of Jew and Gentile into the “One New Man” Paul describes in Ephesians 2:15. Bible scholars argue that each Half of that Single Entity will be delegated different roles in Eternity, but that is beyond the scope of this brief treatment.

CODA. For now, beloved, we are left with the Cosmic Hope of a Super-Life as immortal members of the Godhead, though not ‘gods’ as has been inferred. Though I not unexcitedly confess, we shall very much “Be like Him” in our own new powers and new abilities that shall transcend our former being!

The Apostle said it perfectly: “Beloved, we are [even here and] now children of God, and it is not yet made clear what we will be [after His coming]. We know that when He comes and is revealed, we will [as His children] be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is [in all His glory].” – 1 JOHN 3:2, AMP

Toward an exhilarating Life and Purpose that is so extravagant that it defies human understanding – ‘Until Our Change comes!’ Selah.
