PRÉCIS ON THE IRON COMMAND TO HONOR GOD’S LAW: NO ROOM FOR PRAGMATISM IN THE LAST DAYS

SCRIPTURE. “Moses and Aaron were among His priests, and Samuel was among those who called upon His name; they called upon the Lord, and He answered them. He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud; they kept His testimonies and the statutes that He gave them.” – PSALM 99:6-7, AMPC

KEY TERM: “KEPT.” ‘Shamar’ [שָׁמַר]: “A primitive root, ‘To hedge about (as with thorns); i.e., to guard, protect or attend to [at all cost];’ to closely observe, preserve or take heed; to carefully watch over and care for; ‘the Lord keeps those who look to Him’ (Ps. 121:7); God’s people [and esp. shepherds] are responsible to ‘Keep the Law and walk in it;’ i.e., to discharge a sacred office; to narrowly observe.”

COMMENTARY. “‘He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar’ — That is, to some of them: to Moses frequently, and to Aaron sometimes, as Numbers 12:5. And although it is not anywhere expressly said that God spake unto Samuel out of the cloudy pillar, yet, as Dr. Hammond observes, it is probable enough from His history that He did so; for when Samuel was so signally heard by God at Mizpeh, 1 Samuel 7., it is said, 1 Samuel 7:9, ‘The Lord answered him;’ and 1 Samuel 7:10, ‘The Lord thundered with a great thunder,’ which supposes a cloud, if not a cloudy pillar; and so this answering of Samuel with thunder, must be God’s speaking to him at this time out of the cloud.

DK’S TAKE. During the past 50 years or so, the American Church has constructed still another Tower of Babel unto itself, and its common name is ‘Hyper-Grace.’ Without once more delving into the deep and dark history of the insidiously false and uniquely ‘American Prosperity Gospel,’ the overall impact upon today’s Church has been nothing less than:

‘The wholesale abandonment of Christian Duty to Obey God’s Ways!’

The breathtaking Consequence of which is the currently widespread embrace of TRUMP CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM, the very same Death Knell of the Biblical Canon that led to the rise of Adolf Hiter’s National Socialism Movement, and the death of some 6 million Jews in the Holocaust and over 73 million souls by the end of World War II.

CAN THIS HAPPEN AGAIN? Beloved: Just look out your living room window and read the End of the Book of books to find your unrelenting, fiery Answer. But here is another Illustration that took place with my neighbor on the morning of August 18, 2024. We shall call him, “Hal.”

As I was loading up my car, he and a friend asked me where I was off to, and why I was carrying a sidearm. For the record, he is a Master degree, certified clinical psychologist working with a young man to rehabilitate him from serious cognitive deficiency.

I told him I carry as a political writer because of the death threats that come my way. I explained that I was “a conservative,” but not a Trump supporter, and their ears perked up. The man in the back politely asked, as a fellow “conservative,” the upcoming Election this November. I went lightweight with an Analogy to this upcoming November Election.

“What if this November you were given the choice of voting for either Hitler or Stalin, which candidate would you prefer.”

Before I could even answer, “Hal” piped up with this: “‘Well hey, I’d go for Hitler.’ I mean I don’t know him, and who were the ones writing about him, anyway? I like the ideas of every culture determining for themselves what is right for them, respecting other cultures of course.”

IMPLICATIONS. Bear in mind this is a white, highly educated professional and caregiver, whose politeness, blindness, and ignorance is a nearly unfathomable combination. But beloved, this is the ‘Spiritual Infection’ that has become injected into the American bloodstream that is metastatizing as I write these words.

I am convinced that it is much, much deeper than we realize, and yet the Church Leaders apparently do not care or have a clue.

I now you grow weary of reading these Efforts at Alarm, but what else can I say if this sort of evidence is pretty much everywhere I travel for the past four years? I cannot present you with fluffy little embroidered pillows as the Church does incessantly and dangerously.

JESUS THE CHRIST said it best, so I will conclude with His Words on the matter.

“If you abide in My word [continually obeying My teachings and living in accordance with them, then] you are truly My disciples. And you will know the TRUTH [regarding salvation], and the TRUTH will set you free [from the penalty of sin].” – JOHN 8:31-32, AMP

‘Truth, Courage and Obedience constitute the only Antidote to the Ocean of Deception everywhere.’ You up for it, beloved, asking God to make you fully Ready for the Great Struggle ahead?
