PRÉCIS ON THE RECONCILIATION OF ISRAEL TO YESHUA BEN DAVID: THE FINAL DAY OF ATONEMENT

SCRIPTURE. “‘Sing for joy and rejoice, O Daughter of Zion; for behold, I am coming, and I will dwell in your midst,’ declares the Lord. ‘Many nations shall join themselves to the Lord in that day and shall be My people. And I will dwell in your midst, and you shall know (recognize, understand fully) that the Lord of hosts has sent Me to you.’” – ZECHARIAH 2:10-11, AMP

KEY TERM: “JOINED!” ‘Lavah’ [וְנִלְווּ֩]: “From a primitive root, ‘To intertwine;’ also, to unite, to remain, to borrow; to abide with [forever]; to cleave.” NOTE: “The Hebrew verb ‘lavah’ primarily means ‘to join’ or ‘to be joined.’ It is often used in the context of borrowing or lending, indicating a temporary joining of resources or obligations between individuals. The term can also imply a sense of [perpetual] obligation or indebtedness, whether in a financial, social, or spiritual context.”

QUOTATION. “The crucial question, therefore, is not how to accomplish the final reconciliation. That messianic problem ought not to be taken out of God’s hands. The only thing worse than the failure of some modern grand narratives of emancipation would have been their success! Merely by trying to accomplish the messianic task, the have already done too much of the work of the antichrist. In demasking anti-messianic projects that offer universal salvation, Lyotard helps us ask the right kind of question, which is not how to achieve the final reconciliation, but what resources we need to live in peace in the absence of the final reconciliation.”  MIROSLOV VOLF, (Croatian theologian), Exclusion and Embrace: A Theological Exploration of Identity, Otherness, and Reconciliation, 1996; edited

COMMENTARY. “‘Sing and rejoice,’ &c. — Here the Prophet calls the Daughter of Zion, or the whole Jewish Nation, being redeemed and restored, to rejoice in the goodness showed them, and to proclaim the praises of Him who showed it. ‘For lo, I come!’ &c. — To execute judgments on thine adversaries, and to complete thy deliverance and salvation. And I will dwell in the midst of thee’ —To defend and bless thee. This was fulfilled in part to the Jews, but more fully to the Gospel Church [NOTE: Be very careful here to avoid Replacement Theology that disavows Jewish Israel in favor of the ‘New Israel,’ or, the Christian Church. This is false doctrine, though I do not believe that Mr. Benson was advocating it].

And many nations shall be joined to the Lord’ — The Church shall be greatly enlarged by the accession of the Gentiles to it; and shall receive a still further increase when, upon the Conversion of the Jews, the Fulness of the Gentiles shall be brought in. And shall be my people’ —My true worshippers, subjects, and servants. This promise relates chiefly to the Latter Times. Compare Zechariah 8:21-23And thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent Me’ — The fulfilling of these my words shall be an undeniable evidence that My Mission is Divine. ‘And the Lord shall inherit Judah his portion’ — Shall claim, recover, possess, and delight in Judah, as a man doth in his paternal inheritance. God will give visible tokens that the Land of Judea is, in a peculiar sense, His land!; and its inhabitants His peculiar people, according to the tenor of the covenant he made with their fathers. ‘And shall choose Jerusalem again’ — Will have a regard to Jerusalem, as he formerly had. This Prophecy will be more fully accomplished at the general Restoration of the Jewish Nation.” – JOSEPH BENSON, Notes on the Holy Bible, 5 vols., 1811-1818; edited

DK’S TAKE. Permit me to extract THREE TAKAWAYS from this important passage, beloved, that should help arm us against the seditious and violent reemergence of Antisemitism round the world. We will have to be strong, very strong, in order to withstand the forces of hatred that are on their way, aimed principally at Christians and Jews.

  1. GOD AND ISRAEL. When the Lord first struck His Covenant with Israel, it was for both Perpetuity and Eternity. He shall not revoke it, ever! Though Israel should depart from it from time to time and lose their right to their “Chosenness,” He shall always provide ‘a Remnant’ from among them to preserve that Promise (cf. Isaiah 10:20).
  • GOD AND THE CHURCH. Christians must always remember that they are “grafted in branches,” and not the Root of the Tree (cf. Romans 11:17). This means that the so-called Replacement of Israel by the Christian Church is a doctrine of demons, responsible for the historic, generational hatred of the Jews by nearly all Western nations since the days of the Early Church.
  • GOD AND JERUSALEM. To be absolutely clear: ‘Jewish Jerusalem is now and shall forever be the very Center of the Universe!’ From there both Jesus Christ and David shall rule from the Royal Throne and later still, God Himself shall literally live there and dwell with His people – both Christians and Jews, for the rest of Eternity.

RECONCILED! “I will pour out on the house of David and on the people of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace (unmerited favor) and supplication. And they will look at Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him as one who weeps bitterly over a firstborn.” – ZECHARIAH 12:10, AMP

Then and only Then shall both Jew and Christian walk together for Forever, both living in The Eternal City though carrying out a Unique Mission ordained by the Father of Lights for each people. When Wonders shall be served up so magnificently and frequently, that we should hardly be able to contain it!

Selah.
