NOTES ON JERUSALEM IN THE HOUR OF ANTICHRIST: FROM INCEPTION TO TRIBULATION TO CONSUMMATION (WITH VIDEO)

  1. THEOLOGY

SCRIPTURE. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! May they prosper who love you [the Holy City]! May peace be within your walls and prosperity within your palaces! For my brethren and companions’ sake, I will now say, ‘Peace be within you!’ For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek, inquire for, and require your good.” – PSALM 122:6-9, AMPC

KEY TERM. “PEACE.” ‘SHALOM’ [שְׁל֣וֹם]: “From a Hebrew primary word meaning, ‘Safe.’ Also: ‘Well, friendly, happy; health, prosperity, and tranquility; rest.’” NOTE:Shalom’ embraces completeness, soundness, welfare, safety, tranquility, friendship, and Covenantal Harmony [i.e., ‘Peace with God’]. Across some 237 Old Testament occurrences it describes: ‘Right relationship with God, neighbor, and creation, extending from Internal Serenity to Societal Order.’”

QUOTATION. “Look at it this way: ‘Jesus is Jewish.’ The disciples were all Jews. The Apostles were all Jews. All the people saved at Pentecost were Jews. The first Christian Church in the world, the Church of Jerusalem, was entirely Jewish. That Church sent missionaries throughout Asia and the Mediterranean and, at great pain and expense, brought the first Gentiles to salvation in Jesus Christ. Every Gentile saved today, every church we have built, every seminary, every missionary society — all can be traced back to The Original courageous efforts of the Jewish believers of Israel who took the Gospel of Jesus Christ, on pain of death, throughout the known world.”  ZOLA LEVITT, The Miracle of Passover, 1977; edited

COMMENTARY. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem’ — In the Prosperity of which both your civil and religious privileges are deeply concerned. ‘They shall prosper that love thee’ — Or, ‘Let them prosper,’ the future being taken imperatively, as is very frequent. The Lord grant them prosperity and all happiness. Peace be within thy walls’ — In all thy dwellings; and ‘prosperity within thy palaces’ — Especially in the dwellings of thy princes and rulers, whose welfare and prosperity may be a public blessing to all the people. For my brethren and companions’ sakes’ — And this I desire, says David, not only, nor chiefly, for ‘my own security’ and for the glory of my Empire, but for the sake of ‘all my fellow-citizens,’ and of all the Israelites, whom, through my subjects, I must own for my brethren and companions in the chief privileges and blessings enjoyed at Jerusalem …

Both which will then be Complete,’ when the CHURCH MILITANT shall become the CHURCH TRIUMPHANT, and the Heavenly Paradise shall be filled with plants taken from its terrestrial nursery.” DK: ‘There shall be no peace in the World until there is genuine Peace in Jerusalem.’  – JOSEPH BENSON, Notes on the Holy Bible, 5 vols., 1811-1818; edited

HARBINGER. In 2024, 31% of all Western attacks were motivated by Antisemitic or Anti-Israel sentiment.’ In the United States, the FBI’s hate crime data shows a sharp increase in Antisemitic incidents in the US, with more than 10,000 incidents, an increase of 270% between September 2023 and November 2023, and a 200% rise in 2024. The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security issued a joint statement warming of possible violent threats against Jews amid the CONFLICT IN GAZA. In Europe and Australia, a higher number of attacks on synagogues were reported in 2024. The Executive Council of Australian Jewry published their report, stating that there were more than 2000 incidents in 2024.” DK. ‘There is also a concomitant Rise in Anti-Islamic sentiment in these same countries.’ – ANGELIQUE SHAFA, Vision of Humanity, May 9, 2025;edited

II. TEACHING: THE HISTORY

Melchizedek king of SALEM [later called Jerusalem] brought out bread and wine [for their nourishment]; he was the priest of God Most High, and he blessed him and said, ‘Blessed (favored with blessings, made blissful, joyful) be Abram by God Most High, Possessor and Maker of heaven and earth, And blessed, praised, and glorified be God Most High, Who has given your foes into your hand! And [Abram] gave him a tenth of all [he had taken].’” – GENESIS 14:18-20, AMPC

ORIGINS. Right about here I was tempted to say to the Lord when He laid “Jerusalem” on me: “Are You serious, Sir? ALL of it?” “Yes.” Therefore, we move ahead with the collective recognition that if He isn’t in this, every bit of it, this shall assuredly turn into a theological hot mess.

Happily, I came across a well-curated OVERVIEW of this extraordinary matter by the Editors of the well regarded online theological journal, Got Questions, then my ever-ready Wikipedia, all aided and abetted by an AI Overview – excellent for Backgrounders such as this (ret. Dec. 11, 2025; edited). They give us an excellent Introduction that stretches across about 6,000 years of human history, depending on whose Calendar you are consulting. (Usher, 4,000 BC; Archeology, 8,000-10,000 BC).

  • OPEN.‘For Millennia, Jerusalem has been an important City, often commanding the attention of much of the world, and the City figures prominently in both Biblical History and Biblical Prophecy. JERUSALEM IS CENTRAL’ [Joel Roseberg labeled it, ‘The Epicenter’ in 2006] … The City of Jerusalem is situated on the edge of one of the highest tablelands in Israel, south of the center of the country, about thirty-seven miles east of the Mediterranean Sea [at approximately 2,400 feet] and about twenty-four miles west of the Jordan River. Its situation, lined on two sides by deep ravines, provides a Natural Defense for the City. Jerusalem is called by various names in Scripture: ‘Salem,’ ‘Ariel,’ ‘Jebus,’ ‘City of God,’ ‘The Holy City,’ ‘City of David,’ and ‘Zion.’ Jerusalem itself means ‘Possession of Peace.’”
  • BEGINNINGS. “The First Biblical Reference to Jerusalem is found in Abraham’s encounter with Melchizidek, ‘King of Salem,’ in or around 2,000 B.C.. David marched on the City around 1,000 B.C., when Jerusalem became the Capital of Israel. It was in Jerusalem that Solomon built the Temple and his Palace (1 Kings 6–7; c. 967-966 B.C.). In 586 B.C. the Babylonians destroyed the Temple and the City and deported the Jews to Babylon (2 Kings 24–25). After the Jews were allowed to Return to Jerusalem [‘Making Aliya,’ or ‘Going Up’], they Rebuilt the Temple, completed in 516 B.C. under Zerubbabel (Ezra 6). Under Nehemiah’s leadership the Walls were Rebuilt in 444 B.C. (Nehemiah 6).”
  • TRANSITIONAL. “During the Intertestamental Period, the Selucid king Antiochus IV (175–164 B.C.) desecrated the Temple. In c. 165 Jerusalem was liberated by Judas Maccabeus, and the Jews cleansed and Restored the Temple. In 65 B.C. the Romans besieged the City and destroyed the walls. Herod the Great [heard Antipater’ early this morning] was made ‘King of the Jews’ by Caesar Augustus in 40 B.C.. Twenty years later Herod began a massive Remodeling of the Jewish Temple, a project completed in A.D. 66. That Temple was destroyed by the Romans in A.D. 70, and the Jews ‘Dispersed’ throughout the world. In the Seventh and Eighth Centuries, Islam came on the scene, and Muslims began building shrines and mosques in Jerusalem to commemorate certain events important in their religion. The Dome of the Rock [685-692 A.D.], the most noteworthy shrine, built directly on the Temple Mount. Under Arab Rule, Jerusalem prospered, and Tolerance was at first extended to Christians. However, this Tolerance began to wane over time. In the early Eleventh Century, a Ruler of the Fatimid Dynasty ordered the destruction of all churches in Jerusalem. This outraged Christians throughout Europe and led to the First Crusade (1095–1099).” DK: Then followed around 800 “Dead Years” in Jerusalem’s history.
  • REBIRTH. “After World War II, on MAY 14, 1948, Israel once again became an Independent State, and President Truman duly recognized Israel’s restored status as a National Homeland for the Jewish people. On December 5, 1949, ‘Israel declared Jerusalem to be its ‘Eternal and Sacred’ Capital.’ Unfortunately, other nations have been slow in facing the reality of Israel’s independence and its right to choose its own Capital. DK: December 2017 [under President Trump’s first administration], the United States officially recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital.
  • WARS. 1967 Six-Day War: Tensions escalated in 1967 when neighboring Arab nations mobilized their forces and Egypt blockaded the Straits of Tiran, a vital Israeli shipping lane. Fearing an imminent attack, Israel launched a preemptive strike against the Egyptian and Syrian air forces. Israel achieved a decisive victory, capturing the Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank (including East Jerusalem), and the Golan Heights, all of which significantly changed the map of the Middle East. 1973 Yom Kippur War: On Yom Kippur, the holiest day in Judaism, Egypt and Syria launched a surprise coordinated attack to regain the territories lost in 1967. The initial Arab offensive inflicted heavy casualties on the Israeli military and made some territorial gains, bringing Israel to the brink of a major crisis. Israel eventually repelled the invasion and crossed the Suez Canal, but the war underscored the ongoing security threats and ultimately led to the peace negotiations that produced the CAMP DAVID ACCORDS with Egypt in 1978 [led by President Jimmy Carter, Awar Sadat, & Menahem Begin].
  • GAZA. “The GAZA WAR is an armed conflict in the Gaza Strip and Israel, fought as part of the unresolved Israeli–Palestinian and Gaza–Israel conflicts. The war began on 7 October 2023, when the Palestinian militant group Hamas led a surprise attack on Israel, in which 1,195 Israelis and foreign nationals were killed and 251 were taken hostage. Since the start of the Israeli offensive that followed, over 70,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed, almost half of them women and children, and more than 170,000 injured. A study in The Lancet estimated that traumatic injury deaths were undercounted and noting a potentially larger death toll when ‘Indirect Deaths’ [e.g., disease, starvation, malnutrition, lack of healthcare, displacement, poverty, and stress-related issues] are included.”
  • PROPHECY. “The Bible predicted that the Jews would ‘RETURN TO ISRAEL’ [Isaiah 11:11-12] AND JERUSALEM figuring prominently in: Prophecies Concerning the End Times (Joel 3:1Jeremiah 23:330:7Ezekiel 11:1737:1–14). Someday, the Jewish Temple will be rebuilt in the Holy City (Daniel 9:2712:11Matthew 24:152 Thessalonians 2:3–4). In the Early part of the Tribulation, a combined military force, including Russia, will march against Jerusalem: This battle is outlined in Ezekiel 38–39 in the Prophecy of Gog and Magog, and it will end in the Destruction of those armies arrayed against Israel. During the Tribulation, the Two Witnesses will be martyred in Jerusalem (Revelation 11:1-14). At the End of the Tribulation, the nations of the world will mount a final assault on the city in the Battle of Armageddon (Joel 3:9–12Zechariah 14:1–3Revelation 16:14). That Battle will be ended by the ARRIVAL OF JESUS CHRIST Himself (Revelation 19:17-18). ‘The Lord will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle … The Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him” (Zechariah 14:35).”
  • CURRENT. “‘Israel is [today] a Sovereign Nation, and it has chosen its Capital to be Jerusalem.’ In 1995, the United States Congress passed the Jerusalem Embassy Act, requiring the U.S. Embassy to be moved to Jerusalem. However, for over two decades, implementation of that law was delayed by U.S. Presidents. Now the United States has officially recognized Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel [December 6, 2017], a move that accords with thousands of years of history and the wishes of Israel itself. Jerusalem is held in high regard by all Three Major World Religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Jews consider the Temple Mount to be the Holiest Place on earth; it is the Third Holiest Islamic site. Christians value Jerusalem as the site of much of Jesus’ ministry, the place where He was Crucified and Rose again, and the Church’s Birthplace (Acts 2). Today the Temple Mount is under the control of the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf, a Trust established to manage the Islamic structures in Jerusalem. Under their current rules, access to the Holy Sites is prohibited to all Non-Muslims. The closest the Jews can get to their former temple site is the Western Wall.” Selah.

    III. THE ABRAHAM ACCORDS

And he will enter into a binding and irrevocable covenant with the many for one week (seven years), but in the middle of the week he will stop the sacrifice and grain offering [for the remaining three and one-half years]; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until the complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who causes the horror.” – DANIEL 9:27, AMP

QUESTION: ‘Do the ABRAHAM ACCORDS, crafted by JARED KUSHNER at the direct instruction of DONALD TRUMP, constitute the early stages of Daniel’s SEVEN YEAR PEACE CONVENANT between Israel and “The Many” of the Arabic Nations, or not?’

      I report, you decide.

BACKGROUND. I take our Introduction of this matter of a most terrible importance from an Overview from the House of Commons Library, the official document repository of the UK Parliament. Title: “Israel and the Abraham Accords in 2025: Five Years On” (Tue. Sept. 30, 2025; edited).

      • OPEN. September 2025 marks five years since the Abraham Accords were signed between Israel and Four Arab States (Morocco, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Sudan). Due to internal instability, Sudan has not ratified the Accords. The Four States were the first Arab States to establish public ties with Israel since Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994. Since their signing, economic and some defence ties between Israel and the Abraham Accords States have deepened. However, the 2023–25 Israel–Hamas Conflict has led to challenges. This Insight provides an overview of the Accords, the current state of relations between Israel and Arab states and the outlook for the future.”

      ·       CHALLENGES. “[1] ‘Al Aqsa Mosque/Temple Mount.’ Arab states condemned the Israeli cabinet minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s attempts from 2023 to challenge what are known as the ‘status quo’ arrangements at Al Aqsa Mosque/Temple Mount in Jerusalem (Ben-Gvir’s latest visit being in August 2025). Currently, only Muslims are allowed to pray at the site. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said there will be no change to the prayer arrangements. [2] ‘Reported Plans to Annex the West Bank.’ There has been Arab criticism, notably from the UAE, of reported Israeli plans to consider ANNEXATION of the occupied West Bank in 2025. In August, the UAE said that ‘Red Line’ and that: ‘There can be no lasting peace if there is Annexation.’ Saudi Arabia has reportedly issued similar warnings. In September, President Trump said that he will not allow annexation. [3] Israeli Strike on Qatar. In response to the Israeli strike targeting Hamas leaders in Doha, Qatar, in September 2025, the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (a collection of Arab states and states with significant Muslim populations) have called on all governments to: ‘Prevent Israel from continuing its actions against the Palestinian people’ and ‘review [their] diplomatic and economic relations with it.’  [4] Israeli–Egyptian Relations. There are also strains in longer-standing relationships. Throughout the 2023–25 ConflictEgypt has opposed potential Palestinian Displacement from Gaza and is reportedly concerned Israel may target Hamas members in Egypt.”

These, then, are the essential facts and challenges the world faces in the fuller enactment of the Abraham Accords. More importantly:

‘Is there reasonable evidence that this ‘Trump Peace Deal’ be the essential building blocks leading toward Daniel’s 7-Year Covenant with “The Many” that triggers the Great Tribulation?

In the spirit of full disclosure, I could find very little (if anything) from our leading theologians that would support this view. Still, beloved, I believe there is a strong possibility for it to be TRUE.

      IV. LAST THOUGHTS

According to an AI OVERVIEW of the few articles that at least allow for the possibility of the Overlap being valid (ret. Dec. 12, 2025; edited), YES, there is Biblical Evidence for this being the case.

Specifically, THE ARGUMENTS for the Abraham Accords being the “Seven Year Covenant” mentioned in Daniel 9:27 stem from a specific Eschatological Interpretation, what I would describe as a ‘Pre-Wrath Futurist-Progressive Dispensationalist Hermeneutic’ (vs. Idealist, Historicist, or Preterist perspectives), which views the prophecy Yet Future,’ literal Seven-Year Period known as THE TRIBULATION.

      • GEOPOLITICAL CONTEXT: Proponents argue that The Accords create an unprecedented regional alignment between Israel and several Arab Nations (UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan), fitting the Prophecy’s description of a ‘Covenant with Many.’ This regional cooperation is seen as a NECESSARY PRECURSOR’ for the broader, seemingly stable Middle East Peace that would enable a key End-Times Event like the ‘Rebuilding of the Jewish Temple.’”
      • CONFIRMATION OF AN EXISTING COVENANT: The Biblical Text states the ‘Prince who is to come will CONFIRM a Covenant, not create a new one.’ Some interpret the Abraham Accords as a Confirmation of God’s Eternal Covenant with Abraham, which guarantees Israel a Homeland in the Promised Land. The Accords formally recognize Israel’s existence and right to The Land, thus ‘Confirming’ a Foundational aspect of the Biblical Promise in a modern political sense.
      • FRAMEWORK FOR FUTURE PEACE: While the Accords themselves don’t explicitly mention a Seven-Year duration, some interpreters believe they provide the ‘Political and Diplomatic Framework’ or (‘INCIPIENT STAGE’) that a future leader (The Antichrist) will use to establish a formal Seven-Year Treaty. The absence of a specific duration in the current document is not seen as a disqualifier, as the Prophecy specifies: ‘THE (SIGNATURE) EVENT marks the Beginning of the Seven-Year Period (the 70th week of Daniel), not that the agreement itself must state seven years.’”
      • IMPLIED TEMPLE ACCESS: “The Prophecy in DANIEL 9:27 mentions the Covenant Leader bringing an ‘End to Sacrifice and Offering halfway through The Week’ (after 3.5 years), which requires that Temple Worship and Sacrifices must have resumed.’ Proponents suggest the current political climate established by the Accords might eventually lead to arrangements allowing for Jewish Religious Access or Control of the Temple Mount area, making a Future Rebuilt Temple possible.’
      • TRUST IN MAN 0VER GOD: The Interpretation posits that ISRAEL, in seeking peace through human-led political alliances rather than solely trusting in God, is ‘Leaning on MAN [indeed, ‘The Man of Sin!’] to secure its safety,’ which the Bible warns against. This reliance on a Worldly Peace Plan makes them susceptible to Deception by the future Antichrist figure.

These Arguments are Central to a specific Eschatological Viewpoint (‘Pre-Wrath, Futurist-Progressive Dispensationalist’ and are not universally accepted among all Christian denominations or Biblical scholars. Other [‘Non-Literal’]interpretations ‘argue the Daniel 9 Prophecy was entirely ‘Fulfilled’ by Jesus Christ and the events surrounding the Destruction of the Second Temple in 70 A.D. by Roman General Titus.

CODA. What takes place after the Peace Treaty is Signed and Enacted is far beyond this single essay, since it constitutes the enormity of THE GREAT TRIBULATION (“GOD’S WRATH!”) referred to by the Jews as “The Time of Jacob’s Troubles.”

Of this Time, JESUS SPOKE: For at that time there will be a great tribulation (pressure, distress, oppression), such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will [again].And if those days [of tribulation] had not been cut short, no human life would be saved; but for the sake of the elect (God’s chosen ones) those days will be shortened.

Then if anyone says to you [during the great tribulation] ‘Look! Here is the Christ,’ or ‘There He is,’ do not believe it.For false Christs and false prophets will appear and they will provide great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect (God’s chosen ones). Listen carefully, I have told you in advance.” – MATTHEW 24:21-25, AMP

‘He has told us in advance,’ beloved,’ but is anyone in His Church even listening? Do not be like them, but instead MAKE READY! For as He has also told us, repeated by me many times in recent days:

“We must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; night is coming when no one can work.” – JOHN 9:4, AMP.
