NOTES ON THE EVE OF DESTRUCTION: AMERICA’S 2026 MIDTERM ELECTIONS AS FINAL RECKONING ON TRUMP’S FOURTH REICH (WITH VIDEO)

1. THEOLOGY

SCRIPTURE. “Little children, it is LAST HOUR; and as you have heard that ANTICHRIST is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever DENIES AND REPUDIATES [‘arneomai’ (ἀρνούμενος), ‘intentionally disavow, reject, disown or contradict’] the Son does not have the Father; the one who CONFESSES and acknowledged the Son has the Father also.” – 1 JOHN 2:18-23, AMP

KEY TERM: “LAST HOUR.” ‘Eschatos’ [ἐσχάτη]: “The farthest, the final, uttermost, the ends of, the extreme remote.” NOTE: “‘Strong’s 2078 characteristically speaks of What is Final’—whether in time, rank, consequence, or geographical reach. In the New Testament it clusters around three PRINCIPAL IDEAS: Temporal Consummation (‘The Last Day,’ ‘The Last Trumpet’), Moral and Social Inversion (‘The last shall be first’),and Ultimate Authority (‘The First and the Last”). A Fourth, less frequent, nuance extends the word to the Remotest Place (‘The ends of the earth’). ‘Together these senses form a Coherent Biblical THEOLOGY OF FINALITY in God’s saving plan.’”

• “PRINCIPLED NATIONALISM. “‘Spengler is regarded as a German Nationalist and a critic of Republicanism.’ He was a prominent member of the Weimar-Era Conservative Revolution. While the Nazis had viewed his writings as a means to provide a ‘respectable pedigree’ to their ideology ‘Spengler criticized Nazism for its Racialist and Antisemitic elements, and he came to be considered a persona non grata by the Nazi regime.’” THE LESSON: For me at least are the facts that Spengler descended from extraordinarily talented and mostly professional forebears with both Catholic and Jewish influences. But Spengler by all the evidence was an avowed Atheist, ‘viewing Religion Not as a matter of Universal Dogmatic Truth, but as a cultural-metaphysical expression tied to the specific “World-Feeling” and life cycle of each civilization.’” The Point: YET he could discern the Corruption of the Fascism, on Universal Moral Grounds more soundly than 150,000 White Evangelicals in America who refuse to do likewise! Selah.

• THE IMPLICATION. “WOE TO YOU [‘Ouai’ (oὐα)-‘intense exclamation of grief, dread, or denunciation by God Himself’], Chorazim! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say to you, it will be MORE TOLERABLE for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. COMMENTARY. “‘Every man is an antichrist, who DENIES the Person, or any of the offices of Christ [though One would arise at The End]; and in denying the Son, he denies the Father also, and has no part in His favour while he rejects His great salvation.’ Let this Prophecy that Seducers would rise in the Christian world, keep us from being seduced. The Church knows not well who are its True Members, and who are not, but thus ‘TRUE CHRISTIANS’ were proved, and rendered more Watchful and Humble. ‘True Christians are anointed ones.’ Their names expresses this: They are anointed with grace, with gifts and spiritual privileges, by the Holy Spirit of grace.

‘The great and most hurtful LIES that the Father of Lies spreads in the world, usually are Falsehoods and Errors relating to the person of Christ. 1. TEACHING: THE LAST BATTLE

Along with a growing number of cultural observers, I have made much of the potentially ‘Existential Crisis posed by America’s Midterm Elections of 2026.’ Most of you are already aware of the several incursions that President Trump has already deployed to interrupt or subvert the entire electoral process. 

But before we get to that, I turn to the distinguished jurist MICHAEL LUTTIG in his insightful essay, “The Final Battle for America’s Democracy,” recently published in The New Republic (Sep. 10, 2026; edited). Judge Luttig served fifteen years on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit (1991-2006).

‘Significantly, He was the legal authority who advised Vice President Mike Pence that the Constitution required that he and the Joint Congress certify Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States on January 6, 2021.’

Here is a Review of Judge Luttig’s MAIN IDEAS.

• OPEN. “Forget November 3. It’s JANUARY 3 [2027] when Donald Trump and his MAGA Republicans might bury our democracy once and for all. Here’s how.”

• J6.21. “‘Donald Trump instigated a war against America’s democracy on JANUARY 6, 2021.’ He and his Republican allies would have crippled America’s Democracy that day had his own Vice President not refused to be party to the gravest Constitutional Offense a President can commit—the Refusal to relinquish and peacefully transfer the power of the presidency to his duly elected successor.”

• J3.26. “Today, almost six years later, Donald Trump and his Republican congressional allies are even more determined to prosecute the president’s war against American Democracy to its Catastrophic End than they were on January 6, 2021. ‘That Catastrophic End could well come on JANUARY 3, 2027, when Trump and his Republican congressional allies wage the Final Battle in Trump’s determined WAR TO CORRUPT America’s Democracy and deliver a lasting political victory over the Democrats for his MAGA Republican Party.’”

• HOPE. “While it is small solace, Americans are not entirely at the mercy of this Republican Congress to suddenly decide to honor its oath to the Constitution and the American people. It will be theSUPREME COURT, not Trump, Johnson, or even the House of Representatives, that will have the final word as to who will be seated in the 120th Congress of the United States.”

• LAW. “Article I, Section 5, Clause 1 of the Constitution provides that ‘Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members.’ Under Clause 1, the House of Representatives is the ‘judge’ of its ‘elections’ and ‘returns.’ But the House’s power is not plenary. The Constitution constrains how the House can exercise its power to refuse to seat members-elect. Indeed, in 1969, in Powell v. McCormack, the Supreme Court ensured that the House constitutionally exercised its power to ‘judge the qualifications’ of members-elect when it ordered the seating of New York Representative Adam Clayton Powell, who had won reelection in 1966 despite a House vote to refuse to seat him. Just as the court intervened then, so also will the Supreme Court ensure that the House exercises its power to ‘judge’ its ‘elections’ and ‘returns’ within the limits imposed by the Constitution. ‘At least we hope it will, but can we be sure with this court?’”

• ROLLOUT. “‘This is how The Crisis would unfold.’ The Precursor of the Crisis will come sometime before noon on January 3, when Speaker Johnson removes current House Clerk Kevin McCumber and replaces him with a person loyal to Johnson and House Republicans who they know will refuse to list on the statutory roll of representatives-elect to the 120th Congress any Democrat-elect whom Johnson and the Republicans direct him or her not to list. UnderRule II, Clause 1 of the Rules of the House, the Speaker of the House has the unilateral power to remove the incumbent clerk, and then the power under Title 2 U.S.C. § 5501(a) to replace him temporarily with whomever he wishes until the House elects a successor. McCumber is a Republican appointed by former Speaker Kevin McCarthy. He is widely respected for his integrity and faithful adherence to the Constitution and is reputed to be unwilling to carry out orders he considers to be Unconstitutional.”

• TRIGGER. “‘The FIRST MOMENT of Constitutional Crisis will come when, sometime before the 120th Congress has been gaveled into session, the loyal Temporary Clerk REFUSES to list Democrat representatives-elect on the clerk’s roll of representatives-elect that determines who may participate in organizing the new Congress.’ At that moment, interested members-elect and others will be forced to seek a Writ of Mandamus—a Court Order to a Government official instructing him or her to perform a mandatory duty—from the Federal Court to the Temporary Clerk, ordering him or her to list on the clerk’s roll all members-elect who have been certified by the states as having been elected from their districts to the new Congress.”

• REPORT. “‘The Next Moment of Constitutional Crisis will come if and when, after appeals, the Court finally issues the Writ of Mandamus, and the Clerk REFUSES TO OBEY the Court’s Order to list the Democratic representatives-elect.’ At that point, it is possible there will be no further Federal Court involvement until such time as the 120th Congress officially convenes and votes not to seat representatives-elect. Then, that vote by the 120th Congress will be immediately reviewable by the Federal Courts, up to and including the Supreme Court of the United States.”

• DANGER. “‘Judicial Review of the House’s decision not to seat Democratic representatives-elect in the 120th Congress would take weeks, if not months, during which time the United States would be in the throes of a paralyzing Constitutional Crisis, helplessly VULNERABLE to all the World’s Evil.’ As it would have been in January 2021 had Mike Pence not thwarted Donald Trump’s plan to overturn the 2020 presidential election.”

• DEFENSELESSNESS. “It is not difficult to imagine the many possibilities, some of the most critical being entirely realistic. ‘It would be the ideal moment for China to move against Taiwan, by way of military blockade, attack, or even invasion. ‘It would be the perfect moment for Vladimir Putin to complete his conquest of Ukraine,’ and perhaps even to move militarily against Estonia. ‘Every passing day could bring a deepening ECONOMIC CRISIS, worsened by our angry allies around the world who would welcome the opportunity to Requite Donald Trump for his belittling mockery of their countries and presidents. WITHOUT THE CONGRESS, the United States would be Powerless to respond to any of these crises.’”

• CLOSE. “‘If we Americans are to save our Democracy from the forty-seventh president and his MAGA Republican Party, we must DISINTHRALL OURSELVES [“Liberation from bondage; Emancipation from slavery”] from our political bondage to Donald Trump and MAGA, as ABRAHAM LINCOLN urged the nation in 1863 to disenthrall itself from its bondage to the ruinous political dogmas of its time.’ “We must Disenthrall Ourselves, and then we shall save our country,”the Sixteenth President admonished. The REPUBLICAN PARTY in particular must finally loose the Chains of its Political and Moral Enslavement to Donald Trump and separate itself from the MAGA Political Party Cult!’”

DK NOTE. I well recall while reading Alexis de Toqueville’s two-volume opus, Democracy in America (1835, 1840) during a research sabbatical at Regent University in the 1980s gathering the distinct impression from the French political scientist the following MAXIM:

“As goes the CHURCH, so goes the NATION.”

It would be the notable theologian MATTHEW HENRY who would codify this richly Biblical Principle: “As goes family worship, so goes the home; as goes the home, so goes the Church; as goes the Church, so goes the Nation; as goes the Nation, so goes the World.” (“A Church in the House: A Sermon Concerning Family-Religion,” 1704).

BLOODGUILT.“The guilt or crime of shedding blood.” As in my many past Commentaries, I charge the WHITE EVANGELICAL CHURCH with being responsible for all this spiritual, political and physical carnage. When 1,000 of our leading lights met with Donald Trump in Times Square June 21, 2016, in a closed-door session to pledge Church Allegiance to him if he would in return promise to ‘Protect American Christianity.’

He repeated this Promise on FIVE OCCASIONS from: January 18, 2016, at Liberty (where I used to teach until I was fired March 2016 for refusing to support Trump); May 13, 2017 at his Commencement Address again at Lilberty University; February 22, 2024 at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention; June 22, 2024 at the Faith and Freedom Coalition where he said: “We will protect Christians in our schools and our military and our government, our workplaces, in our hospitals, and in our public square,” while asking for their support at the ballot box; and February 6, 2025 at the National Prayer Breakfast.

“Not many [of you] should become teachers [serving in an official teaching capacity], my brothers and sisters, for you know that we [who are teachers] will be judged by a higher standard [because we have assumed greater accountability and MORE CONDEMNATION (‘krima, κρίμα, ‘to fully avenge’) if we teach incorrectly].” – JAMES 3:1, AMP

1. TOWARD CIVIL WAR

“Brother will betray brother to [be put to] death, and a father [will hand over] his child; and children will rise up and take a stand against parents and have them put to death.” – JESUS CHRIST, Mark 13:12, Amplified

With those very words from our Lord, I opened the chapter on the Second Seal of War from my book, The Sixth Seal II (2024, p. 147). I drafted that section in the year 2023 before it finally got to press a year later, before his 2024 reelection and the current turmoil over the 2026 Midterms.

Here is what I wrote next.

“Of the Five Great Wars yet to come [American Civil War; Psalm 83 War; Isaiah 17 War; Ezekiel 38 War; Armageddon War], the one nearest to the American Door is Civil War. ‘The Line or such a Second American Civil War was drawn on the bloody pavement at the United States Capitol on JANUARY 6, 2021’” (2024, p. 147; edited).

As with the honorable Judge Luttig, ‘I see it coming beloved.’ Not too long after the January 3, 2027, official Congressional approval of the Midterm Election results. I truly hope that I am wrong but confess that I am more strongly convinced than I was in 2023, that this is the high probability Mega-Event just ahead.

As what I sometimes refer to as a “Just in Case Scenario,” I truly believe it is wise to consider what this would look like should Trump achieve the Final Coup d’ Etat’ by an election overthrow. To do so, I once more turn to an AI Overview (ret. Oct. 29, 2026; edited) in the absence of a single article to be found detailing this possible near-future event.

CIVIL WAR II. A modern American Civil War would not resemble the clear North-versus-South frontlines of 1861. Instead, analysts and simulations describe: ‘A Decentralized, Asymmetric, and Urban-Fragmented Conflict.’

• FRAGMENTED GEOGRAPHY (“Leopard Skin” Map): Rather than distinct regional territories, loyalties and authority would look like a patchwork. Hostile pockets would exist inside friendly states, with cities, rural counties, and state houses divided ideologically.

• ASYMMETRIC & DECENTRALIZED: Instead of massed armies marching on battlefields, fighting would involve localized militias, vigilante groups, irregular forces, and block-by-block urban skirmishes.

• FRACTURED MILITARY & POLICE INVOVLEMENT: The U.S. Armed Forces, National Guard units, and police agencies could experience internal political splitting or competing chains of command rather than moving as a single unified body.

• DIGITAL & CYBER SABATOGE: The conflict would heavily feature cyberattacks on critical infrastructure (power grids, banking systems, communication networks, and water supplies) alongside rampant disinformation and deepfakes.

• SEVERE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE: Market seizures, bank runs, broken supply chains, and hyperinflation would trigger a massive drop in GDP and widespread displacement.

• THE PROBABLITY. Historians and research groups like the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) note that while severe political polarization, institutional distrust, and sporadic political violence are high, a full-scale synchronized state-based Civil War remains statistically and structurally LOWdue to the immense capacity and centralization of the U.S. government and economy.

Let us hope and PRAY that they are right on the one hand but nonetheless PREPARE for its possibility on the other.

1. LAST THOUGHTS

PENTAGON ALERT. “‘The Pentagon wants every major U.S. military base to run for 90 days without outside help if a war cuts off power and supply chains.’ Across the Atlantic, Britain is telling families to keep canned food, bottled water, and cash on hand to get through three days of disruption. The two efforts aren’t known to be coordinated, and neither government has said a new war is imminent. But both are planning for disruptions that could leave homes and military installations without the services they depend on.” – BILIN LIN, Fortune Magazine, Oct. 26, 2026; edited

After just a bit of research, I found that the United States Government has never before issued a 90-Day Warning to go it on your own, if necessary. Including World War II. Do not just sniff this away, beloved.

Now I cannot possibly know for certain if President Trump is going to substantially – some say recklessly – escalate the War in Iran in the days ahead, but the strong probability is that he will. As I have said before: Out of sheer, angry, and nearly blind Anger and Vengeance for things not going his way.

That is the nature of our President, boys and girls, and to deny that undeniable fact is the height of deadly folly. So, let’s turn to a modicum of, neither reckless nor extreme, ‘Preparation,’ should this actually take place in the weeks to come.

REASONABLE READINESS. Twice before during the last few years, I have alluded to a section of my book dealing with rather modest: ‘Preparations to live Off-Grid, “For Thirty Days.’” That is what I distinctly ‘heard’ from the Lord in 2015 as I drafted the first edition of my book in 2015-2016.

Somewhat astonishingly, I discovered just this year that the same instruction was given to DAVID WILKERSON in a Blog Alert 17 years ago. Here is the text of that warning.

“First, I give you a practical word I received for my own direction. ‘If possible, lay in store a THIRTY-DAY SUPPLY of non-perishable food, toiletries and other essentials.’ In major cities, grocery stores are emptied in an hour at the sign of an impending disaster” (“An Urgent Message,” Newsletter, Mar. 7, 2009; edited).

THREE PREPS. We close our conversation therefore with a very Practical Checklist to help ‘Make Ready’ for War-Driven Conditions that will require us to be fully independent for a month.

1. SPIRITUAL PREPARATION. Clearly the most important step to take is securing yourself in Christian Covenant with Jesus Christ. No particular recipe for doing so except a profoundly sincere prayer for God to completely “TAKE  OVER” your life. No holds barred! ROMANS 10:9-10: “But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (NKJV).

• FINANCIAL PREPARATION. Most economic experts predict at least a “Standard Market Correction” in 2027, with a minority issuing warnings of a “Severe Correction” is on the way to the American (and International) Economy [Tech Stock Loses $3 Trillion!]. Relatedly, most AI Hacks have made the financial environment even riskier, so look to reliable commentary on how to PROTECT your bank investments for those, and the increase of banks independently Restricting Access to your account(s). NOTE: Most economists suggest a common-sense rule of keeping at least $1,000 in cash reserves for such an event.  

• PHYSICAL PREPARATION. Now we get down to what some reasonable commentators optimistically suggest by preparing for a 30-Day Camping Trip.’ MINIMAL CHECK LIST. Such items as: (1) A Bible and other reading materials or games. (2) Solar Generator if you live in a region with enough sunlight. (3) Cooking Stove of some kind, with non-lethal fuel suitable to indoors. (4) Water Storage and water purification device (or “straws”). (5) Canned Goods and other non-perishable foodstuffs. (6) Lighting Devices such as flashlights and batteries, candles and matches, battery or oil lanterns. (7) Emergency Radio of some kind to keep in touch with emergency broadcasts. (8) Medical-First Aid Kit & Meds, for obvious reasons. (9) A Firearm and Ammunition, or other means of protection from animals or vandals.

CODA. “DO NOT FEAR [anything], for I AM WITH YOU; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].” – ISAIAH 41:10, AMP
