NOTES ON IRAN: A CLINIC ON KHAMENEI, PAHLAVI, OR PRESIDENT TRUMP’S MITIGATION OF EZEKIEL’S VISION (WITH VIDEO)

1. THEOLOGY

SCRIPTURE. “And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘Son of man, set your face against Gog of the land of Magog, the chief ruler of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, “Thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief ruler of Meshech and Tubal. 

I will turn you around and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them magnificently clothed in full armor, a great horde with buckler (small shield) and [large] shield, all of them wielding swords; PERSIA (IRAN), Cush (Ethiopia), and Put (Libya, N. Africa) with them, all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer and all its troops; Beth-togarmah from the remote parts of the north and all its troops—many peoples with you. KEY TERM. “PERSIA.” ‘Paras’ [פָּרַ֛ס]: פָרַס designates the ancient nation of Persia, situated east of Babylon in the territory bounded by the Zagros Mountains and the Persian Gulf. Scripture consistently links Persia with Media [Azerbaijan, Kurdistan] reflecting the historical union that created the Medo-Persian Empire (Esther 1:3; Daniel 8:20). In the Book of Daniel, the Medo-Persian Empire is portrayed as the Second major world power  in DANIEL’S VISION (2:36-44).

• HEAD OF GOLD: Represents Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonian Empire.

• CHEST/ARMS OF SILVER: An inferior, Second Kingdom (generally identified as Medo-Persia).

• BELLY & THIGHS OF BRONZE: A Third Kingdom (generally identified as Greece) that rules the earth.

• LEGS OF IRON/FEET OF IRON & CLAY. A Fourth, strong Kingdom (Rome) that becomes Divided and Fragile (The United States of America).

• THE STONE: A Kingdom established by Jesus Christ, not made by human hands, that smashes the Statue and lasts forever.

COMMENTARY. “‘Iran does have a role to play in the End Times, but, first, a little History of Iran and its neighborhood, as it relates to Biblical History …

Iran’s involvement in the End Times will be as one of the nations involved in the Battle of Gog and Magog, which probably occurs during the first half of the Tribulation. Ezekiel 38:5 specifically mentions PERSIA as an ally of Magog/Russia.’ Othernations included in this coalition will be Sudan, Turkey, Libya, and others. This Vast Army will come against Israel, who at that time will be ‘a peaceful and unsuspecting people’” (Ezekiel 38:11).

The Outcome of this End-Times Invasion is predicted: God supernaturally intervenes, and Gog’s coalition is utterly destroyed. ‘On the mountains of Israel you will fall, you and all your troops and the nations with you. I will give you as food to all kinds of carrion birds and to the wild animals’ (Ezekiel 39:4–5). Iran, allied with Russia, will think their invasion of Israel is a sure victory, but God has different plans. In protecting Jerusalem, God will send a strong message to the world: ‘I will make known My holy name among My people Israel. I will no longer let My holy name be profaned, and the nations will know that I the Lord am the Holy One in Israel’ (Ezekiel 39:7).” – EDITORS, Got Questions, ret. Feb. 10, 2026; edited. II. THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY

THE QUESTION. ‘Do recent political machinations from President Trump in relation to IRAN AND ISRAEL find some definition in this Prophecy from Ezekiel 38?’

This is a Question of massive theological and geopolitical perspective, and it shall not be answered in any absolute form here. But I will dare to address it, since I am convinced from my nearly 50 years of study of Political Eschatology that it is highly likely that there in fact is ‘A Connection.’

But we must wade into these very deep waters prudently, since so very much damage has already been done by so many Christian “scholars” of the Bible, who have been catastrophically wrong.

Sad to say, this even includes the eminent DR. RUSSELL MOORE, who wrote of this in an article as editor-in-chief of his flagship publication, Christianity Today. In a piece titled, “Don’t Blame Prophecy for a War with Iran” (June 18, 2025; edited), he wrote to my astonishment and frankly crushing disappointment, the following, likely Preterist-Historicist, theological mush.

“After Israel’s recent bombing of Iran, a friend told me about a preacher who asserted that Russia might be the Gog and Magog of the Book of Ezekiel, that Iran might be one of the hostile nations pictured by the Prophets, and that all of this just might be pointing toward the imminence of the literal Apocalypse …

The Apostle Paul warned of the time when ‘People will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths’ (2 Tim. 4:4, ESV throughout).

At times, the Bible speaks about those ‘itching ears’ as [wanton] Heresy or the justification of sin. At other times, the problem is not the outright contradiction of the Bible but foolish controversies, genealogies, and dissensions (Titus 3:9), or the pull to “quarrel about words, which does no good” (2 Tim. 2:14) …

Add to that the phenomenon that the monk Thomas Merton once referred to as ‘Mental Snake-Handling.’ Merton asked why small, isolated, persisting congregations of people take up rattlesnakes in a service. It’s because, he argued, surviving the snakes is proof, right now, that one is in God’s favor. Judgment Day is now, it is visible, and palpable …

Are we in the Last Days? Yes. Everything from the empty tomb onward are the Last Days (Heb. 1:2). Could Jesus Return at any moment? Absolutely. ‘But can we track that Coming based on the bombing schedules of Israel or Iran? NO.’

We should act, at every moment, whether in Peace or in War, as though it might be a millisecond to Judgment Day. But we do not know when that is. Instead, we have the Word of Jesus that the Kingdom is advancing, invisibly like fermenting yeast or germinating seed. ‘We have the Word of Jesus that He will not leave us as orphans; He will come to us’ (John 14:18).

‘That’s all the Prophecy Chart we need.’”

APOLOGIA. I do hereby apologize for citing Dr. Moore several times in my previous essays during the past several years. Be assured that I shall never do so again. ‘Why?’Dr. Moore vigorously and in my view, blasphemously ridiculed Christ and Canon summed up in two searing passages from the BOOK OF REVELATION, which I must presume he now rejects as Apocryphal.

“Then I [John] fell down at his feet to worship him, but he [stopped me and] said to me, ‘You must not do that; I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers and sisters who have and hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God [alone]. For the TESTIMONY OF JESUS is the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY [His life and teaching are the heart of prophecy]’ …

 I testify and warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book [its predictions, consolations, and admonitions]: if anyone adds [anything] to them, God will add to him the PLAGUES (afflictions, calamities) which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from or distorts the words of the book of this prophecy, God will TAKE AWAY [from that one] his share from the tree of life and from the holy city (new Jerusalem), which are written in this book.” – 19:10; 22:18-19, AMP

The Unassailable Word of the Living God, Who is a Consuming Fire to all that should assail Him or His Teachings

III. WAR DRUMS

“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet … When He opened the SECOND SEAL, I heard the second living creature saying, ‘Come and see.’ Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.” – MATTHEW 24:6; REVELATION 6:3-4, NKJV

Before moving more deeply into these frankly electrifying historical and eschatological waters, we turn to a facts-based policy analysis of the broiling rumors of a second attack of Iran by the United States on behalf of Israel – and America. Per the TRUMP WAR NARRATIVE, we have witnessed his following attacks throughout the world in Somalia, Iraq, Yemen, Iran, the Caribbean-Pacific Regions, Syria, Nigeria, and Venezuela. 

Something we used to call, “Gunboat Diplomacy.”

TEN POSSIBLE EVENTS. As I combed through the rubble of the ‘Anti-Futurist/Literalist Moore-like Distortions’ on the one end of the eschatological spectrum, as over against the other extreme of ‘Sensationalist Extremes’ using lots of boldface and exclamation points with no references to sources, I found this little gem.

Writing for a policy organization called the Atlantic Council, an influential center based on their commitment to a “Rules-based Order” around the world, is WILLIAM F. WECHSLER, treasurer of the American Historical Association. He has been published in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Foreign Affairs, and The National Interest, among others. Wechsler is a graduate of Cornell University and received a master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.

The title of his essay: “Ten Predictions for the Potential U.S. Strikes on Iran,” published on February 21, 2026. Here are his TEN EXPECTIONS.

• ONE. Khamenei Will Not Offer a Last-Minute Strong Deal (High Confidence). “The Iranian Regime’s power has sharply declined over the past year and a half, during which Israel successfully conducted military operations in Lebanon and against Iranian strategic air defenses …  Given this fundamentally changed strategic environment, the minimum-acceptable requirement a deal today must include is an ironclad commitment to zero uranium enrichment in Iran. However, I do not see any evidence that the Regime is capable of offering this concession, much less offering any compromises on its arsenal of long-range precision weapons or its network of terrorist nonstate proxies, even if Trump would be willing to offer complete sanctions relief in return.”

• TWO. Trump Will Not Accept a Last-Minute Weak Deal (Moderate Confidence). “Trump has consistently emphasized that he wants ‘A Deal with Iran’ and, in the past, has signaled his flexibility on the details … [In his First Term], Trump likely would have accepted this proposal, overruling his much more hawkish advisers. As Trump’s Second Term began, the likelihood of him accepting a deal remained high … Now, [however], given the negative experience of ‘Iranian Delay’ and Iran’s fundamentally changed strategic environment, Trump is likely no longer willing to accept an obviously weak deal.”

• THREE. If Trump Appears Willin to Accept a Weak Deal, then Netanyahu Will Preempt by Striking Iran (High Confidence). “Last June [2025], when many perceived that the United States and Iran were on a path to a new Nuclear Deal, one that might have even been weaker than Obama’s deal, Israel preempted it by striking Iran. Trump did not give Israel the ‘Red Light’ [and] eventually decided to order US strikes on the key Iranian nuclear sites—a decision I encouraged in advance and then applauded afterward. Given Israel’s tactical successes against Iran and its strategic success that resulted in a complete reversal by Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would likely seek to replicate this approach. [All the more so since 2026 is an Election Year for the PM].

• FOUR. Trump Will Be Presented with Three Strategic Options: ‘Enforce,’ ‘Degrade,’ or ‘Remove’ (High Confidence). “The First ENFORCE,would consist of a nation-wide campaign of strikes against buildings and other infrastructure of the Iranian state security forces most directly responsible for the violent crackdown against protesters. It would specifically target the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its Basij militia. This campaign would likely last only one or two nights, with only modest fatalities expected in comparison to the thousands killed by these forces. The Second, DEGRADE, would involve expanding the target set to include Regime assets that most directly threaten the Region and US national security interests, notably Iran’s remaining nuclear infrastructure and its missile, rocket, and drone deployments, inventories, and supporting industrial backbones. This campaign would be significantly longer, and it would likely need to be accompanied with a credible threat to repeat it every six to nine months as Iran rebuilt its missile inventories. The Third, REMOVE, would further expand the campaign to seek to ‘Decapitate’ the Regime’s political and military leadership, disrupt the regime’s ability to effectively command and control its forces in the short term, and strike symbolic targets associated with the regime’s repression of the Iranian people and its perceived legitimacy to rule.”

• FIVE. Trump Will Choose the First Option, ‘Enforce’ (Low Confidence). “Trump is caught in a trap of his own making, unfortunately. In contrast to the incident back in 2019, when he (correctly) rejected the Pentagon’s strike options designed to retaliate against Iranian forces shooting down a US drone, this time Trump drew a ‘Red Line’ that the Iranian Regime then clearly crossed. Trump openly encouraged ‘The Uprising,’ even promising that US ‘help is on its way,’ and then stood back while protesters were butchered … Trump previously mocked Obama’s refusal to enforce his own Red Line on Syria in 2013, the low point of that administration, and then proudly enforced Obama’s Red Line himself in 2017 and 2018 … My degree of confidence is merely low for this prediction, however. While Trump is quite consistent and thus predictable over the long term, he has proved to act impulsively and thus unpredictably when presented with immediate decisions.”

• SIX. Khamenei Will Order a Fundamentally Symbolic Response (Moderate Confidence). “Assuming my Fifth Prediction above holds, the Iranian Regime will have to decide how to respond. It would be unprecedented for Tehran not to respond at all; the Regime typically responds in a manner that appears symmetrical according to its own analysis. Therefore, if Khamenei recognizes that Trump limited his strikes to only enforce his Red Line, and if he is convinced that Trump wants to end the exchange of fire after one round, then his response is likely to be largely symbolic … Given the scale of US military forces in the area, it would be stupid or suicidal for Iran to choose any other approach than a symbolic attack. So this prediction may appear to be straightforward.” 

• SEVEN. If Khamenei Miscalculates, then Trump Will Escalate to “Degrade,” But Will Be Willing to Cut the Operation Short (High Confidence). “Instead of acting to deescalate the conflict after a US strike, Iran might escalate with an attack that goes beyond mere symbolism. This attack might, for example, result in US casualties. If this happens, then Trump will be forced to escalate in turn. The easiest way for Trump to do so would be by ordering the ‘Degrade’ Campaign to commence. Israel might also be allowed to join the campaign in this scenario. That said, I think Trump would then behave just as he did last June. He would prove eager to end the US campaign far short of its designed duration and as soon as he assessed that Iran had been deterred from its escalatory path.”

• EIGHT. The Iranian People Will Rise Up Again After the US Strikes (Moderate Confidence). “It would be completely understandable if the Iranian people were sufficiently cowed by the incredible cruelty of the Regime. One should never fall into the trap of criticizing a subjugated people who decide to prioritize ‘Self-Preservation’ … Nevertheless, I think foreign-policy analysts have an unfortunate track record of underestimating both the willingness of the repressed to rise up against their overlords and the courage of those who are eager to risk death to support ‘Revolution.’” 

• NINE. If Widespread Protests Emerge, the Regime Will Murder En Masse, Again (High Confidence). “Of course, if Iranians do rise up again in significant numbers, then the regime will assess those protests to be an Existential Threat. That assessment will be accurate. Iranian security forces should therefore be expected to respond to that threat in the exact same manner that they have done before. Thousands more Iranians will likely be killed, possibly tens of thousands,depending on the scale of the protests themselvesand how quickly the Regime acts.

• TEN. If Iranian Protesters Are Massacred Again, Trump Will Quickly Escalate to “Degrade” and “Remove” (High Confidence). “In this Scenario drawn by these successive predictions, Trump will be confronted with a challenge that will define the ‘Legacy of his Second Term.’ He will have publicly committed the United States to a ‘Red Line’ to prevent an enemy’s behavior and then punished that enemy for ignoring his warning and crossing that Line—only to then have that same enemy cross the same line again. Few scenarios could be more destructive to US credibility. The President would then have to escalate further. ‘At this point, the United States and Iran would be in a War that both correctly assess as Existential:’ For Tehran, to the regime itself. For Washington, to its credibility as the world’s remaining Superpower. It is impossible to predict the military outcome, since so much depends on the operational and tactical prowess of each side in the first days of a sharp escalation.” 

CONFUSION AT THE TOP. As a Codicil to this forecasting is the sobering assessment by President Trump’s top military appointee, General John Daniel ‘Raizin’ Caine, currently serving as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Here is a SUMMARY of his cautions to the Commander-in-Chief. With Trump’s predictable response.

“As the Trump administration weighs an attack on Iran, the Pentagon’s top general has cautioned President Donald Trump and other officials that shortfalls in critical munitions and a lack of support from allies will add significant risk to the operation and to U.S. personnel, according to people familiar with internal discussions.

Gen. Dan Caine expressed his concerns at a White House meeting last week with Trump and his top aides, these people said, cautioning that any major operation against Iran will face challenges because the U.S. munitions stockpile has been significantly depleted by Washington’s ongoing defense of Israel and support for Ukraine.”

Trump, after this article’s publication, posted on social media that it is ‘100% incorrect’ that Caine is ‘against us going to War with Iran.’ Trump said that the General would not like to see a military confrontation with Iran but that if it did happen, ‘it is his opinion that it will be something easily won.’ The people who spoke to The Post about Caine’s thinking directly contradicted Trump’s optimistic characterization.” –JOHN HUDSON & TARA COPP, “Trump’s Top General Foresees Acute Risks in an Attack on Iran,” Washington Post, Feb. 23, 2026; edited

Such Division and Disinformation of course greatly endangers mission effectiveness, since combat veterans understand, often painfully, how important Mission Clarity must be.

IV. LAST THOUGHTS

From a Christian Worldview perspective, I have saved the most important for the last: HUMAN COST. Specifically, the Iranian men, women and little children who stand to lose the very most in all this coming mayhem. ’And even more so, the estimated 800,000 Christians living under severe persecution in that largely Muslim nation.’

Special gratitude to my dear and courageous Iranian Christian friend, “M,” who has family living in Iran and feeds me direct reports on an ongoing basis. She has been instrumental in prompting this entire report, and I pray I can honor both God and them by what follows as we close our conversation.

THE DANGERS. I borrow the following from an excellent report from the Editors of Open Doors worldwide ministry founded by BROTHER ANDREW in 1955. Their article is simply titled, “Iran,” published on their online journal (ret. Feb. 24, 2026; edited).

To emphasize the immediate threats to lives in Iran, here is an case study posted by “M” on January 26, 2026.

“Dr. Alireza Golchini faces execution for treating protesters. Alireza Golchini, a surgeon and physician living in Qazvin, is facing a death sentence by the Islamic Republic solely for fulfilling his human and professional duty by treating injured protesters, and is now awaiting its execution.

According to reports, the charge brought against Dr. Golchini is not any act of violence, but rather providing medical assistance to wounded citizens during the crackdowns — an action carried out in accordance with medical ethics and humanitarian obligations, and one that does not constitute a crime. Nevertheless, the Judiciary, by securitizing medical practice, is attempting to turn healthcare providers themselves into part of repression cases.

The case of Dr. Alireza Golchini is a clear example of the criminalization of medical care, the endangerment of physicians’ lives, and a flagrant violation of human rights. Full responsibility for his life lies entirely with the Security and Judicial institutions of the Islamic Republic. ‘The International Community, medical institutions, and human rights organizations must urgently act to halt the execution and protect this doctor’s life.’”

In light of this Death Cloud hanging over all of Iran, here are the MAIN FACTS they urgently propose that we should know in support of our severely engendered brethren in that country.

DK NOTE: I cannot ignore that the very same Spirit of Antichrist decimating the Iranian Islamic Republic is identical to the very Spirit of Donald Trump, ‘America’s Ali Kohmeini.’

• OPEN. “‘Christians in Iran are heavily and systemically Repressed,’ as the Authorities seek to root out what they see as a threat from the West to undermine their Islamic Rule. ‘Converts’ are most in the firing line. House Churches are commonly raided, often followed by arrests, interrogations, pressure to inform on other believers and long-term imprisonment. This is typically under charges of ‘Breaching National Security’. The conditions in prison are dire and bail sums can be extortionately high, financially paralysing families. For believers who are released, that typically comes with strict conditions, such as exile to another part of Iran, or self-censorship. They can also face hostility from families and local communities. Each year, thousands of converts flee Iran to escape persecution.”

• DEATH PENALTY. “Parliament also rushed through a new Espionage Bill that introduces the Death Penalty under broad definitions, granting the Government sweeping powers to punish perceived dissent. ‘Following the Iran-Israel war, the Government now publicly brands Converts as spies and collaborators’ [In America, Trump calls them “Domestic Terrorists”].Despite being recognised by the State, the historical Armenian and Assyrian Christian communities are treated as second-class citizens, facing discrimination in employment, marriage laws and inheritance laws. They are also banned from using the Persian Language in religious activities and for religious materials, and are not allowed to engage with Persian-speaking people in Church services. Foreign Christians encounter scrutiny, with some churches having closed after converts attended.”

• CHANGES. “‘Although the country fell by one position on the World Watch List [of 50 Countries], its Persecution Score increased.’ The Conflict between Israel and Iran has intensified the Oppression of Converts, who are often seen as sympathising with ‘The West.’ In the immediate aftermath of the Ceasefire with Israel, at least 54 Christians were arrested in 21 cities. State media accused the 54 Christians who were arrested of committing espionage. The television report suggested links between Evangelical Christians and foreign intelligence services, a Narrative that paints an entire Faith Community as a security threat, gravely adding to their vulnerability.”

THE UPRISING. Since late December 2025, Security Forces of the Islamic Republic, under orders from Ali Khamenei and senior officials, have committed widespread Massacres against civilians amid the 2025–26 Iranian Protests. As of 25 January 2026, total death toll estimates ranged from 3,117 (per largely discredited Iranian Government reports) to upwards of 36,500, including 209 government-affiliated military and non-military personnel, making them some of the largest massacres in modern Iranian history. The Iranian Authorities imposed a near-total Internet Shutdown during the Crackdown, restricting communication inside the country and limiting the flow of information about the killings to the outside world. Esmaeil Baghayi, the spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that security forces had shot many (or most) of the protesters. – Adapted from Wikipedia,  Feb. 24, 2026; edited

So to the hardest part: HOW CAN WE HELP these beleaguered and brutalized Iranians, both Christian and Muslim, in the predictably bloody weeks ahead of us? I close by citing verbatim the URGENT MEASURES proposed by Shawn P. Wright, President of International Christian Concern, published in their online journal, Persecution (Jan. 13, 2026).

“The Church in Iran is one of the fastest growing in the world. If a Window opens, believers will have an unprecedented opportunity to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of a nation crying out for both! ICC — with your partnership — will be there to equip the Iranian Christians to do just that.

But we must be ready before that door opens.

We ask that you, our faithful community of brothers and sisters, INTERCEDE earnestly for Iran. Below are PRAYER POINTS shared by ICC Board Member Dr. Nathan Rostampour, who has issued an urgent plea to the Global Church.

• AN END to the violence and the killing of innocent people.

• TRUTH to be exposed and for justice and accountability to prevail.

• COMFORT for grieving families and healing for the wounded and traumatized.

• RESTORED COMMUNICATION and the end of information blackouts.

• THE CHURCH in Iran to be strengthened, unified, fearless, and filled with hope.

SPEAK UP! For Those Who Cannot Speak for Themselves. Please discuss Iran with your family, friends, and churches. Share what’s happening on social media to raise awareness. And call on leaders and media outlets to report the truth. We cannot let our brothers and sisters suffer in SILENCE (Proverbs 31:8).”

May the Lord hear the cries of His people, establish His Purposes in Iran, and shine His Light into the Darkness. Before Ezekiel’s War. Before Christ’s Return. Before Trump brings Last Ruin to Iran and the whole Earth!
