“HOLY SATURDAY” NOTES ON THE LAW OF LIBERTY VS. OBEYING THE LAW: EASTER CODICIL ON SELF-DETERMINATION CONTRA CHRISTIAN DUTY

HOLY SATURDAY 2026. This is the name given by Tradition to ‘THE DAY between Good Friday and Easter Sunday.’ Some Christians recognize Holy Saturday, the Seventh Day of Holy Week, as ‘The Day on which Jesus “Rested” from His work of providing Salvation.’ As Jesus died, He called out, “It is finished!” There was no further price to pay; Sin had been atoned for. This Day is encouraged to be spent in Silence and Prayer, anticipating Easter while pondering the MYSTERY OF SALVATION.

DK: In our Present Era, we are also responsible to contemplate and understand the MYSTERY OF INIQUITY that surrounds us all:

“For the Mystery of Lawlessness [rebellion against divine authority and the coming reign of lawlessness] is already at work; [but it is restrained] only until he who now restrains it is taken out of the way. Then the lawless one [the Antichrist] will be revealed and the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of His mouth and bring him to an end by the appearance of His coming.

The coming of the [Antichrist, the lawless] one is through the activity of Satan, [attended] with great power [all kinds of counterfeit miracles] and [deceptive] signs and false wonders [all of them lies], and by unlimited seduction to evil and with all the deception of wickedness for those who are perishing, because they did not welcome the love of the truth [of the gospel] so as to be saved [they were spiritually blind, and REJECTED THE TRUTH that would have saved them].” – 2 THESSALONIANS 2:7-10, AMP

THEOLOGY

SCRIPTURE. “Speak and act [consistently] as people who are going to be judged by the LAW OF LIBERTY [that moral law that frees obedient Christians from the bondage of sin]. For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; but [to the one who has shown mercy] mercy triumphs [victoriously] over judgment.” – JAMES 2:12-13, AMP

KEY TERM. “LAW OF LIBERTY.” ‘Eleutheria’ [ἐλευθερίας]: “Freedom (Legitimate OR Licentious); Liberty to do as one pleases [OR to obey God].” ALSO: “Freedom FROM the dominion of sinful appetites or passions, therefore from a state of calamity and death.” NOTE: “‘Eleutheria’ signifies the Liberating Reality that believers possess in Christ. More than political emancipation or philosophical autonomy, it is: ‘The God-given RELEASE from every form of Spiritual Bondage so that the Redeemed may serve the Lord willingly, joyfully, and fruitfully.’”

COMMENTARY. “As Christians, we are SAVED by God’s free Gift of Grace through Faith, not by keeping the Law. But we are ALSO required to ‘OBEY CHRIST.’The Apostle Paul taught that that ‘We must all appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ’ (2 Corinthians 5:10) to be Judged for our Conduct. God’s Grace does NOT cancel our Duty to Obey Him.’ It gives our Obedience a NEW BASIS, [however]. The Law is no longer an external set of rules, but it is a ‘Law of Liberty,’ – One we joyfully and willingly carry out because we love God and [now] have the Power of His Holy Spirit ‘Within’us (see James 1:25).

By discriminating against people who were poor, these believers were [also ‘Freely’] NOT showing mercy. God shows His Mercy by forgiving our sins. We can’t earn forgiveness by forgiving others. But when we withhold forgiveness [toward the poor in spirit or condition] after having received it ourselves, we show that we don’t understand or appreciate God’s Mercy toward us. II. TEACHING

THE COMMISSIONING. ”Jesus sent out these twelve, instructing them: ‘Do not go among the Gentiles, and do not go into a city of the Samaritans; but rather go to the LOST SHEEP OF THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL. And as you go, preach, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Do not take gold, or silver, or [even] copper money in your money belt, or a provision bag for your journey, or even two tunics, or sandals, or a staff; for the worker deserves his support.

Whatever city or village you enter, ask who in it is WORTHY [who welcomes you and your message], and stay at his house until you leave [that city]. As you go into the house, give it your greeting [that is, “Peace be to this house”]. If [the family living in] the house is worthy [welcoming you and your message], give it your [blessing of] peace [that is, a blessing of well-being and prosperity, the favor of God].

But if it is not worthy, take back your blessing of peace. Whoever does not welcome you, nor listen to your message, as you leave that house or city, shake the dust [of it] off your feet [in contempt, breaking all ties]. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of SODOM AND GOMORRAH than for that city [since it rejected the Messiah’s messenger].” – MATTHEW 10:5-15, AMP

We would do well to recall that the SINS OF SODOM are often overlooked by today’s Church: The Prophet writes as Reminder:

^“Behold, this was the sin of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters (outlying cities) had arrogance, abundant food, and careless ease, but she did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and committed repulsive acts before Me; therefore I removed them when I saw it.” – EZEKIEL 16:49-50, AMP

THE PRECEDENT. This Precedent of ‘Judgment FIRST to God’s House’ was clearly specified by The Christ in the Commissioning of the Twelve: ‘Go First to the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel.’ And if ever there were a Parallel Charge to the faithful American Christian Remnant, it is the one that Peter the Apostle clarified in no uncertain terms.

“For it is the time [destined] for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not respect or believe or obey the gospel of God?” – 1 PETER 4:17, AMP

And there is a SPECIFIC SIN in America today that arguably offends and angers the Lord that stands above all the rest, the Scriptures instruct. It has a great deal to do with what DONALD TRUMP AND COMPANY are carrying out on a daily basis, epitomized by the Brutality at Minneapolis last January 2026.

I propose to you all that this shall be the FINAL INDICTMENT OF AMERICA that shall ignite the subsequent Last Judgment of the United States resulting in an utterly Catastrophic and Total Destruction in just “One Hour,” from which she shall never recover.

“For in ONE HOUR so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, and cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What city is like unto this great city!”’ – REVELATION 18:17-18, KJV

Our Lord then specifies that GREAT SIN in an extended Dialogue to His disciples in the Parable of the Sheep and Goats at the Final Judgment Seat of Christ.

THE FINAL SIFTING.“But when the Son of Man comes in His glory and majesty and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him [for judgment]; and He will separate them from one another, as a shepherd separates his SHEEP FROM GOATS; and He will put the sheep on His right [the place of honor], and the goats on His left [the place of rejection].

Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father [you favored of God, appointed to eternal salvation], inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; I was naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me [with help and ministering care]; I was in prison, and you came to Me [ignoring personal danger].’

Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ The King will answer and say to them, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of these brothers of Mine, even THE LEAST OF THEM, you did it for Me.’

Then He will say to those on His left, ‘Leave Me, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels (demons); for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me [with help and ministering care].’ Then they also [in their turn] will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or as a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will reply to them, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, to the extent that you did not do it for one of the least of these [my followers], you did not do it for Me.’

Then these [unbelieving people] will go away into eternal (unending) punishment, but those who are righteous and in right standing with God [will go, by His remarkable grace] into eternal (unending) life.” – MATTHEW 25:31-46, AMP

III. AMERICA’S SEVEN GREAT SINS

As our Nation, led by her deeply compromised, Apostatizing White Church, teeters on the Edges of Judgment, we turn to a superb analysis by Christian writer, poet and blogger and CEO of the Center for Men and Families (Australia), DAN FOSTER. His essay is titled, “The Seven Deadly Sins of the Modern Church” (Medium, Mar. 5, 2026; edited).

WEAPONIZING SCRIPTURE. “‘Verses have been used to Justify Slavery, Silence Women, and Condemn entire Groups of People.’ Again and again, Scripture has been taken out of context and used to defend Systems of Power rather than to challenge them. When that happens, the Bible stops functioning as a Guide and starts functioning as a Tool of Control. The Tragedy is that Scripture actually invites something much richer than that. It Invites wrestling, reflection, and humility. It calls people into a deeper understanding of God and a more honest understanding of themselves. But when the Church treats the Bible like a Weapon, that Invitation gets lost.”
SELECTIVE MORALITY. “Another Pattern that shows up in Church Culture is what I would call Selective Morality. In Theory, the Church teaches that Sin is sin and that everyone stands in need of Grace. In Practice, however, some sins seem to receive far more attention than others. ‘Certain Behaviors are condemned loudly and frequently.’ Others are barely mentioned at all.’ Most people who have spent time in Church have seen this dynamic. A particular issue becomes the focus of sermons, conversations, and outrage, while other behaviors that are just as damaging quietly slip by without comment.”
SELF-CONGRATULATION. “Self-Congratulation is a sin that runs rampant within the Church. ‘It’s the attitude of looking down on others with a sense of superiority.’ We say with the Pharisee, ‘Lord, thank you that I’m not like that tax-collecting sinner over there,’ turning a blind eye to our own transgressions while condemning others. ‘In many “conservative” circles, there’s a tendency to pat oneself on the back for being on the ‘Right Side of Morality’ while simultaneously Condemning those who don’t meet OUR standards. It’s an insidious Form of PRIDE that blinds individuals to their own faults and shortcomings.’”
OVERLOOKING THE MARGINALIZED. “‘One of the most consistent themes running through the Bible is God’s concern for People on the Margins.’ From the earliest stories in the Old Testament to the life of Jesus, the pattern shows up again and again. The Israelites are freed from slavery. The Prophets speak out against systems that crush the poor. Jesus spends most of His time with people society has already written off: The Sick, the Poor, the Outsiders, and the people religious leaders preferred to avoid. In His very first public sermon, Jesus described His Mission this way: ‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon me… to proclaim good news to the POOR… freedom for the PRISONERS… recovery of sight for the BLIND… to set the OPPRESSED free’ (Luke 4:18–19). If you take the Bible seriously, it becomes difficult to miss this thread. God seems to have a particular concern for people who are pushed to the Edges of Society.”
POLITICAL IDOLATRY. “Let’s talk about what I like to call Political Idolatry. Now, we all know that the Church has a long history of getting involved in politics, but when politics starts to take precedence over real spirituality, we’ve got a problem. ‘One glaring example of this is the Evangelical Obsession with DONALD TRUMP. Now, I’m not here to bash anyone’s political beliefs, but let’s be real: when you start worshiping a political figure like he’s Christ-incarnate, you’ve crossed a line!’ Instead of holding political leaders accountable, some segments of the Evangelical Community have chosen to turn a blind eye to Trump’s countless moral failings and indiscretions. They’ve put him on a pedestal, elevating him to the status of a Messianic figure despite all evidence to the contrary. The Sin of Political Idolatry not only undermines the credibility of the Church but also gives the Church very little wiggle room to maintain its moral authority and speak truth to power. ‘When the Church becomes entangled in Partisan Politics and puts its faith in flawed human leaders, it risks losing its Prophetic Voice. Instead of Challenging Injustice and advocating for the Marginalized, it becomes Complicit in perpetuating Harmful Ideologies and Policies.’”
FEAR-MONGERING. “Fear-Mongering is unequivocally a Sin — plain and simple. ‘When the Church resorts to Fear Tactics to maintain power or enforce obedience, it betrays its own moral values and undermines its credibility as a force for good in the world.’ Fear-Mongering not only exploits the vulnerabilities of individuals but also erodes trust in religious institutions. In essence, Fear-Mongering is Antithetical to the very essence of Faith. ‘Instead of inspiring Love, Courage, and Compassion, it breeds Insecurity, Anxiety, Mistrust [and deep Division].’ I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: If a church cannot convince people to follow Christ because of His exemplary and compelling Life, then their Christ is not all that interesting or powerful.”
THE SIN OF SILENCE. “‘In the Annals of Moral Failings, few are as damning as the Sin of Silence.’ When confronted with Injustice, staying Silent can be just as destructive as actively participating in the wrongdoing. Take, for instance, the Church in Germany during World War II. As the Nazi regime tightened its grip on power, the Church in Germany largely REMAINED SILENT in the face of mounting Atrocities. Despite the clear evidence of persecution and genocide targeting Jews and other marginalized groups, many clergy chose to turn a blind eye, fearing reprisal or seeking ‘to protect their own interests.’ By remaining silent, they effectively became Complicit in the Crimes of the Nazi Regime, ‘Betraying their own Moral Principles and Failing to Protect the Vulnerable.’ The Sin of silence reverberates through history, leaving a stain on the Church’s legacy and calling into question its commitment to justice and righteousness. Yet, it is not a sin confined to the past. In Modern-day America, we see a similar Pattern of Silence in the face of systemic injustices and oppression … ‘But Silence in the face of Injustice is not Neutrality; it is Complicity. When the Church fails to Speak Out against Oppression and Discrimination, it becomes an ACCOMPLICE to the very Evils they claim to oppose.’”

We circle back to our Opening Ideas to take this conversation home, beloved. ‘In light of the AMERICAN REALITY under the Trump Regime, the obvious Call to Repentance has fallen on deaf ears for a decade.’

So, what are we to do?

IV. LAST THOUGHTS

We American Christians are at an UNPRECEDENTED CROSSROAD: We have only a little time left to decide on which course to take, which road to follow.

ROAD ONE beckons from the ostensible ‘Freedom’ to rest on Jesus Christ’s Work on the Cross alone. This Road requires nothing further, therefore, than Belief and a modicum of Loyalty to the King. Not works, mind you, but “Faith Alone.”

“But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’—that is, the word [the message, the basis] of faith which we preach— because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and CONFESSES [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation.” – ROMANS 10:8-10, AMP

Without any question whatsoever, this is where the vast majority of White Evangelical Christians have built their Christian House, upon the uncertain soils of, “Once Saved Always Saved” (OSAS). And thereby justify either their Silence regarding the Sins of the Church, or their Support for the Trump Christian Nationalist Movement.

ROAD TWO demands so very much more under the Doctrinal Proviso set forth by the James the Apostle.

“What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,’ but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

But someone will say, ‘You have faith, and I have works.’ Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, ‘Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.’ And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD also.” – JAMES 2:14-26, NKJV

Thereby does JESUS HIMSELF fix upon this Doctrine a Capstone as it were: “But [only] the one who ENDURES and bears up [under suffering] to the end will be saved” (Matthew 24:13, Amplified).

CHILDREN AND THE ALIEN. As I close out this discussion, it occurred to me that there is a COMMON THREAD that ties together the Lord’s Necessary Judgment upon the United States in the days ahead of us.

EPSTEIN. Documents detail that Epstein, with help from associates, specifically targeted YOUNG GIRLS—often aged 12 to 17—luring them to his homes in Florida, New York, and the Virgin Islands for ‘massages’ that became sexual encounters. Victims were frequently recruited by other victims, creating a cycle where girls were paid to bring friends to the residences for abuse.” DK: Donald Trump’s name appears 38,000 times in the Epstein Files. – AI Overview, ret. ICE. Reports regarding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in late 2025 and early 2026 indicate a significant increase in ‘Aggressive Tactics, Excessive Force, and Fatal Encounters’ during Enforcement Operations. These actions, largely driven by a push for Mass Deportations [of overwhelmingly Latinos and People of Color], have resulted in High-Speed Chases, the Use of Tear Gas, and instances of Agents acting without warrants.” DK: These are clearly the very ones that Jesus specified as, “THE LEAST OF THESE.” – AI Overview, ret. CODA. Therefore, beloved: It is inexorable that God shall, by His very Holy Nature and Covenant with Himself, excoriate AMERICAN GOATS by the End of the Eschaton. But the AMERICAN SHEEP shall be preserved forever, to spend Eternity with their King of all kings.

As The Baptist declared this Unshakable Truth:

“His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear out His threshing floor; and He will gather His WHEAT (Believers) into His barn (kingdom), but He will burn up the CHAFF (the Unrepentant) with unquenchable fire.” – MATTHEW 3:12, AMP

These are, therefore, the very Words of our King to the Church in these waning hours of The Age. CHOOSE WELL, beloved, in what place you shall RESIDE At His Coming:

The SHEEPFOLD OF CHRIST, where there shall be “Pleasures Forevermore”(Psalm 16:11); OR the GOAT PEN OF ANTICHRIST, where there shall be “Weeping and Gnashing of Teeth” Forever in the Fire (Matthew 13:42).
