FIRST THOUGHTS

Some time ago I wrote a commentary on ‘The Butterfly Effect,’ that bears upon today’s discussion rather powerfully. It is defined as follows, in drastically simplified form: “A property of chaotic systems (such as the atmosphere) by which small changes in initial conditions can lead to large-scale and unpredictable variation in the future state of the system.” – MERRIAM-WEBSTER, ret. February 4, 2021; edited

This has such useful application to a major point I wish to posit today, demonstrated in such commonplace experiences as:

‘BABA.” A babysitter we may have had at age 4 who planted a seed of the Gospel in us with wonderful consequences 30 years later.

PURDUE VS. BOWLING GREEN. Choosing to go to one university when two were equally viable, again with dramatic impact on your friendship network and career trajectory.

UNCLE DON. Taking that first drink at age 11, resulting in a later life of 20 years of horror, illness and near suicide at age 35.

GOD & GOAL PATH MULTIPLICITY. There is a Scientific Principle by this name that proposes one can reach one’s primary goal via a nearly unlimited number of ‘Pathways.’ As I apply this to the Christian Journey, there is that Smithian ‘Invisible Hand’ guiding and protecting us, shepherding us to our Divine ‘Telos,’ or God-breathed Plan for our lives.

But with many twists and turns, or ‘Pathways,’ along the way. These unplanned events Impact us toward making our lives ‘Better,’ or toward making them much ‘Worse.’ This is as true for a Nation of People, as it is for an Individual Person.

THE MAXIM: ‘Our Initial Conditions significantly, powerfully influence our Later Conditions.’

RICHARD WEAVER

I’m going to take a little time with this intellectual giant who has so influenced millions who follow in his rather prodigious footsteps, including this old salt. So sit back and enjoy on the most important points I shall ever set down for us to consider as a meal of ‘rich red meat.’

BIOGRAPHY. Wikipedia says this about this seminal thinker. “Richard Malcolm Weaver, Jr (March 3, 1910 – April 1, 1963) was an American scholar who taught English at the University of Chicago. He is primarily known as an intellectual historian, political philosopher and a mid-20th century Conservative and as an authority on modern rhetoric. Weaver was briefly a Socialist during his youth, a lapsed leftist intellectual (conservative by the time he was in graduate school), a teacher of composition, a Platonist philosopher, cultural critic, and a theorist of human nature and society. Described by biographer Fred Young as a ‘radical and original thinker,’ Weaver’s books ‘Ideas Have Consequences’ and ‘The Ethics of Rhetoric’ remain influential among conservative theorists and scholars of the American South. Weaver was also associated with a group of scholars who in the 1940s and 1950s promoted Traditionalist Conservatism… Having been raised with strong Moral Values, Weaver considered [the Christian] Religion as the foundation for family and civilization. His appreciation for Religion is evident in speeches he gave early while an undergraduate at the Christian Endeavour Society, as well as in his later writings.” – January 31, 2021; edited

IDEAS HAVE CONSEQUENCES (1948). For me at least, this was Dr. Weaver’s major contribution to Western intellectual literature, his Magnum Opus according to many, though the actual book ran a comparatively meager 187 pages, testimony to the old adage:

Great things still often come in small packages.

WEAVER’S ‘IDEAS.’ He begins his dissertation with this from the Foreword: “It is a work of philosophy to the extent that it tries to analyze many features of modern disintegration by referring them to a FIRST CAUSE. This was a change that overtook the dominant philosophical thinking of the West in the fourteenth century, when the reality of Transcendentals was first seriously challenged…I will merely say that something like this is necessary if one believes in the Primacy of Ideas. I was attempting a rigorous Cause-Effect analysis of the Decline of Belief in standards and values, and there must be a starting point.” – p. v; edited, emphasis my own

Arguing further, as did so many conservators of Traditional Western Thought that the world “has lost its Center,” he proposed that it yet desires to “believe again in Value and Obligation” (p. vi). I wonder about that last statement some 70 plus years later, beloved, but there it is, writing just after the monumental success of American participation World War II.

Yet even then, Weaver saw serious Fractures in the edifice of our Founding Ideas.

SUMMARY. I loved this Introduction to his book by TED WRIGHT, writing for the excellent conservative online journal, ‘Cross Examined,’ published on July 27, 2014; edited.

“The main thesis of Weaver’s book is that Philosophy [i.e., worldview] undergirds all of society. What we believe about Reality matters. What we say or think is Real matters. Language, and how we use it is important. In 1948 many intellectuals in Europe and America were left dumbfounded as to how such atrocities could have been committed by Germany in WWII. In the 1930’s, Germany was one of THE most literate nations in the world, so it wasn’t that Germans were ill-informed or unintelligent. After all, Germany had produced such brilliant musical luminaries as Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and hugely influential philosophers like Hegel, Kant, etc.

The Problem, as Weaver saw it, wasn’t literacy or education per se, it was the KIND of Philosophy that was informing the German View of Reality. Weaver believed that the root problem was the philosophy of ‘Nominalism.’ What is Nominalism? ‘Nominalism’ as defined by Weaver, ‘denies that Universals [i.e., terms like man, woman, tree, house, etc.] have a real existence.’ But someone may say, ‘So what? What’s the problem?’ As Weaver put it, ‘The issue ultimately involved is whether there is a Source of Truth ‘Higher’ than, and independent of, man; and the answer to the question is Decisive for one’s view of the Nature and Destiny of humankind.’”

WEAVER’S THESIS. You get that, beloved? I know, this is highbrow (but richly Biblical) stuff. He is arguing, brilliantly, for THREE CRUCIAL THINGS: (1) That ‘Something’ cannot come from ‘Nothing;’ (2) God is the First Cause to everything that exists in Reality, whether material or ideational; (3) Thus to grasp the True Meaning of ‘Anything,’ we must order your analysis on the basis that ‘Everything’ has a Beginning, and that such ‘Starts’ powerfully order the Trajectory of that thing or individual toward its End Point.

Weaver thereby argues, unless the World and especially the West Return to such Biblical Reason, it shall plummet further into Decline and ultimate Destruction, as surely as God has said as much throughout His entire Canon.

WEAVER’S ULTIMATUM. Listen to his Prophetic Conclusion in the very last paragraph of this profoundly wise work.

“It may be that we are awaiting a ‘Great Change,’ that the sins of the fathers are going to be visited upon the generations until the Reality of Evil is again brought home and flowered in the chivalry and spirituality of the Middle Ages. If such is the most we can hope for, something toward that Revival may be prepared by acts of thought and volition in this Waning Day of the West.” – p. 187; edited

And that was in 1948, some 70 years ago, “70” being the Biblical signature for Completion or Judgment.

WEAVER’S CONSEQUENCES. His epochal point is that if Mankind does not recognize what our Creator has designed for us as the means for a truly ‘Good Life’ – for an individual or an entire Nation of people – then it shall as surely be destroyed, as when He first spoke of it to Adam and Even in the Garden so very long ago.

“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” – GENESIS 2:17, AMPC

Most scholars tell us that the ‘Eating’ was not so much about the food, but about OBEDIENCE. As I have argued nearly annoyingly, Man has been ravenously ‘eating’ of that Tree of Disobedience for thousands of years, and America, in increasing demonstration of its insatiable Avarice, for 120 years.

All of it come to Violent Fruition on JANUARY 6, 2021. Selah.

THE TEACHING

THE BIG IDEA. Mankind, and more specifically, the United States of America, have been recklessly ‘Sowing to the wind,’ and are in my view and that of Dr. Weaver, about to “Reap the Whirlwind.” Because, beloved, this:

‘Ideas Have Consequences.’ And Big Ideas have Massive Consequences – which we are now experiencing all around us, in increasing measure and accelerated pace, every single day.

You savvy? Good, I surmised as much. Now to the Drill Down on the passage from Paul’s Letter to Timothy.

PERILOUS TIMES. From the Greek word, ‘Chalepos’ [χαλεπός], meaning: “Hard to do or bear; troublesome, harsh, fierce; dangerous, grievous; savage; furious; from events that reduce one’s strength; painful; descriptive of a society that is barren of virtue, but abounding in vices.”

DANIEL’S PROPHECY. “And he [the Antichrist] shall speak words against the Most High [God], and shall wear out the saints of the Most High” (7:25). The term for “wear out” from the Hebrew is, ‘Bela’ [בְּלָא]: “To wear away or out; used only in a mental [or emotional] sense; to afflict or persecute; cause to fail [or apostatize]; to decay, consume or spend; wax old, waste away.”

THE COMMENTARIES. I am culling from more than one Source of Wisdom on this Teaching, given its terrible importance to us all in these “Perilous Times.”

CHARLES ELLICOTT. “‘But know this.’ The Apostle had warned Timothy (2 Timothy 2:3-13) not to allow fear of oncoming peril and trouble to paralyse his efforts in the Master’s Cause, for the Lord’s true servant should never lose heart, and then had proceeded (2 Timothy 2:14-26) to detail how these efforts of his were to be directed, showing him how his teaching should stand in contrast with that of the False Teachers.” – ‘Commentary on the Whole Bible for English Readers,’ 1878-1897; edited

JOSEPH BENSON. “The Apostle, at the close of the preceding chapter, having intimated to Timothy that false teachers did and would arise in the Church, he, in the beginning of this chapter, foretells that in Future Times, through the pernicious influence of Corrupt Doctrines propagated by these teachers, many Professing Christians, and, among the rest, the False Teachers themselves, would become so wicked, that it would become dangerous to the truly pious to live among them [Selah]. As if he had said, It is the more necessary to urge thee, as I do, to use every precaution and every effort which may tend to Preserve the purity and honour of the Christian Church, since, after all we can do for this purpose, Sad Scenes will open in it.” – ‘Notes on the Holy Bible,’ 2^nd edition, 1811-1818; edited

WILLIAM MACDONALD. “The Apostle now gives Timothy a description of Conditions that will exist in the world prior to the Lord’s Coming. It has often been pointed out that the list of sins that follows is very similar to the description of the ungodly heathen in Romans 1. The remarkable thing is that the very conditions that exist in their savagery and uncivilized state will characterize PROFESSING BELIEVERS IN THE LAST DAYS. How solemn this is!” – ‘Bible Believer’s Commentary,’ 1995, p. 2120; edited, emphasis my own

THE LOST GOSPEL. I have made this point repeatedly, that the Great Apostasy of the Christian Church began with the Departure from the Canon, the Consequence of which will see ‘BELIEVERS’ as the chief Villains of History in the Last Days. Not the “ungodly heathen.” Not the Secularists who the Church so loves to hate, along with the Socialists, Progressives, the Liberals and the Democrats.

No, beloved, it shall be and now is, ‘THE CHURCH’ that is at fault! Or as an august American philosopher once said it: “We have met the Enemy, and he is Us!” – WALT KELLY, ‘Pogo,’ 1970; edited

NOTE ON HYPOCRISY. While we have been lambasting the Unsaved for decades now, for decades, casting blame on the noticeably sinful among us, we have become the Ultimate Hypocrites, unwilling or unable to see OUR dreadful Betrayal of God.

Jesus, as always, said it perfectly – and somewhat, shall we say, impolitely.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, pretenders (hypocrites)! For you are like tombs that have been whitewashed, which look beautiful on the outside but inside are full of dead men’s bones and everything impure.” – MATTHEW 23:27, AMPC

AMERICAN SEDITION. Since the American Christian has seditiously tethered the sacred name of Jesus Christ to the ‘Church of Trump,’ we have lost ourselves, beloved, lost! Casting ourselves into an Ocean of Filth and Corruption by association – from which we shall never fully recover without massive, deep structure, passionate, collective and very public, Repentance.

Thus, God preserves ‘The Remnant,’ true Defender of the Faith, His true Bride – until He Comes.

STATE OF THE UNION

So we come to The Question central to this Study: How’re we doing, America? Well now, guess I don’t need to answer that, but I will. In fact, I must, for reasons I know you are all well aware of by now.

America is on Life Support, and critically needs Resuscitation.

STATE OF THE CHURCH. You will of course notice that I am not dealing here with the political, socioeconomic, or even the medical-scientific crises that surround all of us. No, there is something vastly more central and important than all those.

ALEXIS DE TOQUEVILLE once expressed this vital Priority in a little known, somewhat mysterious, but clearly brilliant, expression.

“Tyranny in Democratic Republics does not proceed in the same way, however. It ignores the Body and goes straight for the Soul. The Master no longer says: ‘You will think as I do or die.’ He says:

‘You are free not to think as I do. You may keep your life, your property, and everything else. But from this day forth you shall be as a stranger among us. You will retain your civic privileges, but they will be of no use to you. For if you seek the votes of your fellow citizens, they will withhold them, and if you seek only their esteem, they will feign to refuse even that. You will remain among men, but you will forfeit your rights to humanity. When you approach your fellow creatures, they will shun you as one who is impure. And even those who believe in your innocence will abandon you, lest they, too, be shunned in turn. Think Antichrist here. Think Fascism here (that allows for private property ownership). Think, indeed, of the ‘Mark of the Beast’ being made ready.

As I frequently gaze down the turgid throat of the daily news in America today, I see this, what shall I call it, this thus far ‘Soft Tyranny’ being constructed under all the Darkness. It’s like watching a science fiction movie depict an Alien Substance, a Poison actually, being fed into our bloodstream, but not directly seen until this:

ERUPTION. Some event that explodes to the surface that all can see, but is still somehow, recklessly, and possibly fatally, Ignored, by the very ones who should be the most concerned: The Church.

So it is that I continue to broach JANUARY 6, 2021, Washington, DC, as Final Warning that ‘We the people’ have taken an Historic Turn toward the Unthinkable.

THE TELL. Reflecting on Toqueville’s Dark Prophecy, we see what is happening in America today, right under our noses and yet telecast to the entire world in full color and stereophonic blast. And Still – the Church remains Silent as a Mouse. A tiny little church mouse, if you will.

Except for those judged ‘Outside’ the seditious pale of Trump’s America, Trump’s Party, and Trump’s Church. Journalist MOLLY OLMSTEAD writes of this once again.

“And finally, there were ‘less conservative Evangelicals’ [selah] who found that this moment only reinforced previous stances they had taken against elements of Trumpism—stances that often Alienated them from their supporters and community. As Beth Moore, the founder of Living Proof Ministries, tweeted, ‘I don’t know the Jesus some have paraded and waved around in the middle of this Treachery today. They may be acting in the name of some other Jesus but that’s not Jesus of the Gospels.’” – “God Have Mercy, and Help Us All,” ‘Slate,’ January 7, 2021; edited

And for that, she is shunned by the so-called Church, cast aside as so much extreme, silly-talk refuse, Shouting to all of America and the World, though they know it not:

“Barabbas! Give us Barabbas! What need have we of ‘this’ Jesus? We have made our own Christ, and He approves of all we do and say. Indeed, he is just like us. For we have made him in our own image.”

THE EVIDENCE

Here is a staccato review of 21 Signs of an American Church-On-Life Support, as I stated earlier. Wasn’t just blowin’ smoke, boys and girls. What follows is a Collective List culled from such sources as the Pew Research Center and other respected organizations. Reported by REV. TIMOTHY PORTER. “The State of the Church Address,” ‘Sermon Central,’ January 30, 2021.

1,700 pastors in America leave the ministry monthly.

Only 8% of churches in the United States are growing and just 2% of those are growing by conversion growth.

12,000 churches in America disappeared in a five-year period.

Only 35% of the U.S. population attends church regularly.

The number of people in America that do not attend church has tripled in the past 15 years.

No more than 30% of the population attends church at all and that’s in the Bible belt.

Though the Bible Belt still boasts the highest percentage of church attendees, many of those churches are filled with extreme legalism or extreme liberalism.

The vast majority of churches have an attendance of less than 65.

There are over 100 million unchurched Americans, 20% of them claim to be born-again.[ They have either left the church or never connected for some reason.]

The median adult attendance per church service pre COVID-19 was 90 people which was declining prior to Covid.

Only 1/3 of the adult population attends some sort of small life group to stay connected.

Only 65% of Americans donate to a place of worship. Of Evangelicals, however, 70% donate to their church, yet only 7% tithe.

20-25% read their Bible consistently, 59% attend church weekly, 16% listen to Christian radio, 7% watch Christian TV, and 6% are held accountable to someone.

Only 60% of Christians say they are deeply committed to Jesus and His Church.

One in four have a place in the church where they serve.

Less than 50% say that the Bible is totally accurate, yet 60% of those that claim to be born-again.

Just 1/3 of church attendees believe that they have a personal responsibility to share their faith with others.

60% of the population believes that salvation can be earned and shockingly, 28% are among evangelical churches.

Giving to charities increased in the past decade yet giving to local churches is declining.

Out of 100,000 churches in America less then 2% are considered mega-churches, (1,000 or more).

1 out of 5 church attendees are considered church hoppers.

IN SUM. What we are witnessing, beloved, is the Death of Christianity in America, and nothing less. Such Warnings have been coming to us from Pew, Barna, Gallup, and a thousand other sources for decades, and now, Time is up. God is nearly done with His Betrayers, and Judgment is about to rain down Divine Thunder.

He has told us repeatedly, but we have not listened. And we are STILL, not listening.

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord].” – JESUS OF NAZARETH, Matthew 6:24, Amplified

FINAL IMPACT

In a searing, incisive, and surgically accurate Analysis of the State of American Christianity, the ‘New York Times’ DAVID BRODER presents a profile of ‘Us’ that is necessarily unforgiving. I shall use it as platform toward my possibly even more incendiary Conclusions.

Listen ever so carefully, Church. We are indeed, nearly done now. Quoted at length once again, as our very destiny as a Nation and Church are clearly on The Precipice. – “Trump Ignites a War Within the Church,” ‘New York Times,’ January 14, 2021; edited

“‘Over the last 72 hours, I have received multiple death threats and thousands upon thousands of emails from Christians saying the nastiest and most vulgar things I have ever heard toward my family and ministry. I have been labeled a coward, sellout, a traitor to the Holy Spirit, and cussed out at least 500 times.’

This is the beginning of a Facebook post from Sunday by the conservative preacher JEREMIAH JOHNSON. On JANUARY 7, the day after the Storming of the Capitol, Johnson issued a public apology, asserting that God removed Donald Trump from office because of his pride and arrogance, and to humble those, like Johnson, who had fervently supported him.

The Response was swift and vicious. As he wrote in that later Facebook post, ‘I have been flabbergasted at the barrage of continued conspiracy theories being sent every minute our way and the pure hatred being unleashed. To my great heartache, I’m convinced parts of the prophetic/charismatic movement are far SICKER than I could have ever dreamed of.’

This is what is happening inside evangelical Christianity and within Conservatism right now. As a conservative Christian friend of mine put it, there is strife within every family, within every congregation, and it may take generations to recover…

It’s a pure Power Struggle. The weapons in this Struggle are intimidation, verbal assault, death threats and violence, real and rhetorical. The Fantasyland Mobbists have an advantage because they relish using these weapons, while their fellow Christians just want to lead their lives [I differ somewhat here].

The problem is, how do you go about reattaching people to reality?

DAVID FRENCH, the conservative Christian writer who fought in the Iraq war, says the way to build a sane G.O.P. is to borrow a page from the Counterinsurgency Handbook: Separate the Insurgents from the rest of the population. That means prosecuting the rioters, impeaching the president and not tolerating cyberterrorism within a community or congregation.

Others have to be reminded of the basic rules for perceiving reality. They have to be reminded that all Truth is God’s Truth, that inquiry strengthens Faith, that it is narcissistic Self-Idolatry to think you can create your own truth based on what you feel. There will probably have to be pastors and local leaders who model and admire evidence-based reasoning, wrestling with Ideas [that ‘Have Consequences’].”

And if all this were not enough, then came 46-year-old Republican Congresswoman MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE. I quite frankly confess that I had to restrain myself from doing real harm to my television set as I watched her news unfold.

AMERICAN DÉGRINGOLADE. Cong. Greene may well be the New Plumbline for our steep Descent into the lower reaches of Moral and Political Saturnalia, to borrow a term that fits the Crime. Greene is a longtime supporter of the mythical, far right Conspiracy Guru, ‘QAnon,’ founder of ‘The Deep State’ and other seditious nonsense from the sewage of American Ignorance.

Here is a fairly dispassionate Definition of this ephemeral Leader of the Alt Right Republicans – and a vast throng of ‘Christian’ Evangelicals, Pentecostals and Charismatics in tow, if not at the Forefront.

“QANON is a disproven and discredited far-right Conspiracy Theory alleging that a secret Cabal of Satan-worshiping, cannibalistic pedophiles is running a global child sex-trafficking ring and plotting against former U.S. president Donald Trump, who has been fighting the Cabal. According to U.S. prosecutors, QAnon is commonly called a Cult.” – EDITORS, ‘Wikipedia,’ February 5, 2021; edited

Time and space do not permit an in-depth profile of Greene, but here is just one sample of what this new freshman legislator from Georgia believes. Note the unmistakable overlap with Q here.

THE NEW GOP. “One of the most disturbing violent conspiracies Greene engaged with in May 2018 is the ‘Frazzledrip’ Conspiracy, which exists deep within conspiracy rabbit hole. The conspiracy baselessly contends that Hillary Clinton and former Clinton aide Huma Abedin were videotaped sexually assaulting a child and then ripping off the child’s face to wear as a mask in a Satanic blood sacrifice. The Theory then alleges that Clinton ordered an assassination hit against the police officer who found the footage, named ‘Frazzledrip,’ according to reporting from Media Matters.” – EM STECK & ANDREW KACZYNSKI, “Marjorie Taylor Greene’s History of Dangerous Conspiracy Theories and Comments, ‘CNN K-File,’ February 4, 2021; edited

THE VOTE. But of all the bloody red flags to be waved by the Trump Legacy of the New Alt Right political worldview, is what took place on the floor of the United States Congress on Thursday February 4, 2021, as the House voted on whether or not to strip Cong. Greene of all her committee assignments, as partial Censure of her views and activities.

FINAL COUNT. 230 – 199 with only 11 Republicans crossing over to vote with Democrats to block Greene’s assignments.

‘REICH’ VS. LEFT. What this means, beloved, is that a shamefully miniscule 005.23% of the GOP Leadership voted to do the morally right thing, and oust this abominable woman from the House committee structure. In other words, 99.94% SUPPORT ‘Q VIZ. GREENE, despite her inarguably, unprecedentedly sick and twisted political worldview.

Selah. Selah.

LAST THOUGHTS

The Implications of this vote are possibly the most disturbing event that I have ever witnessed in over 40 years of political observation and participation. Allow me to turn to a Scripture that begins to capture my gravest of concerns.

“Moreover he [bishop, overseer, leader] must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.” – 1 TIMOTHY 3:7, AMP

THE APPLICATION. Lest any of you run to the old standby: “But wait! This is not a reference to a civil or political leader, DK. This is all Churchy stuff, yo.” Allow me to offer a few Lessons in Classical Greek about here.

BISHOP. From the Term, ‘Episkopos’ [ἐπίσκοπος], behold: “A superintendent, an overseer; (used as an official title in civil life); supervisor, ruler, especially used with reference to the supervising function exercised by an elder or presbyter of a church or congregation; any curator or guardian [of a trust]; those who are responsible for examination, covering and by implication, instruction.”

GOOD TESTIMONY. From two words, ‘Kalos’ [καλός], “Beautiful, as an outward sign of inward honor; noble character; commendable, winsome, excellent.” And ‘Marturia’ [μαρτυρία]: “Witness, evidence, reputation; report; certifying genuineness according to the declarations of Jesus Christ concerning such matters; corroboration of one’s testimony based upon the knowledge [and reflection] of Him.”

THE VERDICT. According to all that has been presented before in this Essay, and vastly more that is available to anyone desiring the Truth of all this, the American Church – Evangelicals, Pentecostals, Charismatics – has become what Paul’s Letter calls:

A REPROACH. From the Greek, ‘Oneidismos’ [ὀνειδισμός]: “A cause for reviling or revulsion; damage, disgrace, destruction, defamation [of God Himself]; notoriety, contumely, inviting taunts and jeers [mockery of sacred things].”

NEUTERED WITNESS. American Christianity has Destroyed her legitimacy for Witness. Read the surveys, or just ask your nonbelieving friends. Or ask a European about America’s leadership role in the world. Its Gone.

Is anyone getting this, beloved? Do we even begin to comprehend that massive Treachery we have done to the name and holiness of Almighty God in Christ Jesus? Except for the Faithful Remnant, I fear not.

CODA. The Final Blow to the American Church – and Disintegration of a Nation – is found in the Joining of the Holy God of Scripture with the abominably profane mysticism of QAnon’s Nationaism.

Beloved, I see it as becoming ‘A Church,’ as fulfillment of an often misattributed but nonetheless true cultural meme: “When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross.”

In support of this, Pew Research shows year after year that the Republican Party is populated overwhelmingly by White Christians, including Protestants, Catholics, and Mormons. – cf. Pew Research, February 23, 2016

AMERICAN TRAJECTORY. Taking all of this in a single gulp, this means that the Christian Faith of our Nation is being rapidly Redefined in the blasphemous Image of Q, at least according to the Seditious House Vote of February 4, 2021.

God’s Final Word on this massive, historic Apostasy:

“But the [Holy] Spirit explicitly and unmistakably declares that in later times some will turn away from the faith, paying attention instead to deceitful and seductive spirits and doctrines of demons, [misled] by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared as with a branding iron [leaving them incapable of ethical functioning].” – 1 TIMOTHY 4:1-2, AMP

So long as this be The American Course, then we must bid America Farewell, should she continue to prefer – by affirmation, by ignorance, or by her silence – “Deceitful and seductive spirits and doctrines of demons.” Perhaps soon we shall be known as “The United States of Q,” or as some say:

BABYLON THE GREAT. That sinister, dark and evil place, once a magnificent City on a Hill, more and more “has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!” – REVELATION 18:2, AMP

Unless we find the wisdom, the courage, and most importantly, the proper Fear of Almighty God once again – starting in the Church – we shall very possibly if not probably become ‘that wicked City’ described by John the Revelator:

“For this reason in a single day her plagues (afflictions, calamities) will come, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire and completely consumed; for strong and powerful is the Lord God who judges her.” – REVELATION 18:8, AMP

I should hope not, I should pray not, I should hope against all hope that this shall not be us, beloved. But I tell you a Truth: We have aimed our once great Ship of State toward God’s Whirlwind, having sown to it now for 120 years and more. We have very nearly left God without alternative. Unless we Turn.
