PRAYER FOR KELLY HOUSE

URGENT. So my dear friends, realizing that we are all under somewhat unprecedented assault these days, I come to you once again to ask you to pray for my family, and especially for my wife Suzette, for the following reasons.

• SUZETTE. Following her MRI earlier today, Suzie just found out she has to undergo a second back surgery since the disc re-herniated for some reason. She’s scheduled to be rolled into the OR at 4:30 PM, Mountain Time today (Fri. July 15), and has already checked into the hospital at this writing.

• DK. Almost unbelievably, my X-ray earlier today just showed that I have somehow refractured my left wrist. This will require me to go back for a second surgery as well, either tomorrow morning or on another day next week. I will clarify that date that very soon.

• CHRISTINA. In the midst of all of this, our daughter is in between treatments for her lifelong Crohn’s Disease, and it is flaring quite badly. She is still working at our Main Hospital ER, but is obviously struggling with abdominal issues under the added strain of too few hospital workers showing up in what is becoming a national mini-crisis if its own.

• CHRISTOPHER. As you may know already, our son Chris is completing his doctorate degree in Quezon City in the Philippines, and met with some of the impact of the new regime there. He has already been shaken down by some sort of military police officer, questioned  at some length and had his picture taken for reasons that were not shared with him. Makes him just a tad nervous.

• ACCIDENT. Just to add a little spice to the stew that I assume the enemy is cooking up, on the way to the hospital today with my wife riding shotgun, a woman came out of nowhere from the ‘far-right’ lane [unintentional pun], and grazed the right of my little Mitsubishi and proceeded to try to drive off. We chased her down, got her insurance information and were puzzled by the fact that she spoke in a rather strange fashion, telling us she was a registered nurse.

SCRIPTURE. Before all of this started intensifying today, I heard a Scripture late last night I believe may speak encouragingly to all of our circumstances of similar challenge and nature. Here it is in the Amplified translation.

“No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].” – 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13

CODA. The Scripture speaks for itself and needs no particular interpretation. So we appreciate your prayers at this juncture of our journey, and if you have prayer requests at all as well, please post them in this thread. Will turn this thing into a prayer campaign for our dear community of fellowship.
