PRÉCIS ON THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL: ELECTION 2024 & THE ABSOLUTE SOVEREIGNTY OF ALMIGHTY GOD

COMMENTARY. “Though the Lord is high, yet He has respect to every lowly, humbled sinner; but the proud and unbelieving will be banished far from His blissful presence. Divine consolations have enough in them to revive us, even when we walk in the midst of troubles. And God will save His own people that they may be revived by the Holy Spirit, the Giver of life and holiness. If we give to God the glory of His mercy, we may take to ourselves the comfort. This confidence will not do away, but quicken prayer. Whatever good there is in us, it is God works in us both to will and to do.

WORRIERS & WARRIORS. I am by nature a worrisome soul and have been that way since I was a kid back in the 1950s. A hundred things bothered me – My weight, my schoolwork, my bullies, my living situation, my ethnicity, my financial state, my health (a lot), and on and on.

But something has happened to me in the last several years that is beyond Irony: As the conditions surrounding my life and my nation declined, I was prompted (forced) to seek deeper and deeper solace in the God of the Scriptures. As I dove into Him and His Word baring my utter soul-ache to Him, there came more and more stability, more and more confidence, and more and more peace – and even joy!

What I am saying is that it is completely normal to remain concerned or even anxious over what this Presidential Election will mean to each of us. But I tell you I am coming to a place wherein I can say, boldly:

“Your Will be done, Abba Father, here on the Earth as it is in Heaven!”

MY BOTTOM LINE. “Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, [though] the product of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the [victorious] God of my salvation!” – HABAKKUK 3:17-18, AMPC

This is, beloved, the Very Word of the Lord to His true ones in this Age of Abolition of all that is Good. He shall superintend, He shall accomplish it, and He shall bring all His Righteous Purpose to the Earth at such a time as this.

Neither can the Gates of Hell nor the plans of men prevail against the Perfect Ordination of the God of All. Make you ready, therefore, all you saints, and watch what He is about to do. ‘Even to shake the very Foundations of the whole World!’
