PRÉCIS FOR THE HONOR OF THE REMNANT IN THE LAST DAYS: BEAUTY, JUSTICE, AND STRENGTH TO THOSE WHO WILL GO FOR HIM!

SCRIPTURE. “[But] in that [future Messianic] day the Lord of hosts shall become a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the [converted] remnant of His people, and a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment and administers the law, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.” – ISAIAH 28:5-6, AMPC

KEY TERM: “REMNANT.” ‘Shear’ [לִשְׁאָ֖ר]: “‘The remainder or residue [of God’s people who stayed with the Lord during and following a great ordeal];’ that which is left after the separation, removal or destruction of a part; ‘The remnant that are left of the captivity’ (Nehemiah 1:3).”

QUOTATION 1.  ‘Then Something Tookish [Adventurous] Woke Up Inside Him!’ – And He Wished To Go And See The Great Mountains, And Hear The Pine-Trees And The Waterfalls, And Explore The Caves, And Wear A Sword Instead Of A Walking-Stick.” – J.R.R. TOLKIEN, The Hobbit, 1937, edited

QUOTATION 2. ‘I am going to show you great and mighty things which no one has ever seen before’ … I am going to take you places where no one has ever been.I am going to take you to heights where no one has ever reached. ‘If you will only come to me with all your heart,’I will do a mighty work in you, which no man can undo but yourself.’” ― M. J. CHRISMAN, The Remnant: The Legend of the Seer, 2011; edited

COMMENTARY. “‘The Prophet next turns to Judah, whom he calls the Residue of his people. Happy are those alone, who glory in the Lord of hosts himself.’ Hence His people get wisdom and strength for every service and every conflict. But it is only in Christ Jesus that the Holy God communicates with sinful man. And whether those that teach are drunk with wine, or intoxicated with false doctrines and notions concerning the Kingdom and Salvation of the Messiah, they not only err themselves, but lead multitudes astray. All places where such persons have taught are filled with Errors. For our instruction in the things of God, it is needful that the same precept and the same line should be often repeated to us, that we may the better understand them. God, by His Word, calls us to what is really for our advantage; the service of God is the only True Rest for those weary of the service of sin, and there is no refreshment but under the easy yoke of the Lord Jesus.

‘All this had little effect upon the people.’ Those who will not understand what is plain, but scorn and despise it as mean and trifling, are justly punished. If we are at peace with God, we have, in effect, made a covenant with death; whenever it comes, it cannot do us any real damage, if we are Christ’s. But to think of making death our friend, while by sin we are making God our Enemy, is absurd. And do not they make lies their refuge who trust in their own righteousness, or to a death-bed repentance? Which is a resolution to sin no more, when it is no longer in their power to do so.” – MATTHEW HENRY, Exposition of the Old and New Testaments, 6 vols., 1708-1710; edited

DK’S TAKE. I could well have written an entire dissertation on this terribly important idea but chose to condense it into a SINGLE BIBLICAL MAXIM: For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth so that He may support those whose heart is completely His. [But you, Asa] have acted foolishly in this; therefore, from now on you will have wars” (2 CHRONICLES 6:9, AMP).

The Story. The third King of Judah named Asa had been a great king, a zealous reformer who removed idolatry and restored proper Temple worship and distinguished himself in many ways over the many years of his rule. But later in life, he formed an Alliance with an Assyrian king, Ben-Hadad I, and was sternly rebuked by the Prophet of God, Hanani. He threw the Prophet in jail, and not long after died of a foot disease after choosing to consult his physicians instead of the Lord.

The Lesson. Even the best of us and our leaders can lead an honorable life but fail, even Church Elites. Many have built then fallen colossally in the final moments. Such is the case of so many of America’s greatest ministries stretching around the world, winning millions to the Lord, but then morally collapsed into the very lap of Satan and the Antichrist in their latter years.

We could name them here as before, but for now, this FINAL EXHORTATION.

Blessed are all those who Keep Covenant with the King, who refuse to walk not in the counsels of the wicked, and who do not love their lives even unto death. Such men and such women are “The Mighty Ones” of the Last Days Remnant of the Lord’s, who belong only to Him, and never Another!

Be one of these, beloved! For whom God searches to give them honor, courage, provision, protection and a Seat at His Table in the Eschaton. To whom (and only to whom) He shall then say:

“Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little, I will put you in charge of many things; share in the joy of your Master.” – MATTHEW 25:23, AMP
