PRÉCIS ON FALSE BRETHREN INFILTRATING THE CHURCH IN THE LAST TIMES: TRUMP NATIONALISTS VS. CHRIST’S REMNANT

SCRIPTURE. “Now this matter arose because of the false brothers with false pretenseswho slipped in unnoticed to spy on our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, to make us slaves.” – GALATIANS 2:4, NET

KEY TERM: “FALSE BROTHERS.” ‘Pseudadelphos’ [ψευδαδέλφους]: “A Pretend Christian [who by deceit and falsehood lives a lie].” NOTE: “The term ‘pseudadelphos’ refers to someone who pretends to be a brother in faith but is not genuine. It is used to describe individuals who infiltrate Christian communities with ulterior motives, often causing division or spreading ‘False Teachings.’ The term highlights the danger of deceit within the Church and the need for Discernment among believers.”

COMMENTARY. “We discover in this verse: ‘False Brethren had secretly been brought into the Body of Christ.’ It appears that Jewish teachers had disguised themselves as born again Jewish Christians and had infiltrated the Body of Christ at Antioch. They were confusing the True Doctrine of Christ by teaching that circumcision was an essential condition of salvation. ‘Faith [manifest in obedience], not circumcision [nor other works] has always been the means of salvation.’ Faith was the means of Salvation in the Pre-Cross Dispensation of Law, and circumcision is clearly not required in Post-Cross Salvation, which is also by grace through faith in the trustworthy Word of God.” – EDITORS, Knowing Jesus, ret. DK’S TAKE. This won’t take long, beloved. ‘False Christians’ (whether Never Saved or Once Saved and now Apostate) are what the good Mr. Inserra rightly calls, ‘Unsaved Christians.”’ They flow in teeming hordes by the tens of millions after Donald Trump’s insidious (and viciously false) CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM MOVEMENT throwing Christ and Canon to the curb as they do so.

More happily, there is a growing Resistance Movement to the Trump Brigades spearheaded by AMANDA TYLER, a lifelong Baptist and Executive Director of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty. Her mission is summarized in an excellent piece from a Jewish independent online journal, Forward, penned by senior writer BENYAMIN COHEN, titled, “Christian Nationalism is Rising. So is the Christian Resistance” (Feb. 18, 2025; edited).

Cohen reminds us that Christian Nationalism — the idea that America was founded as a Christian Nation and should be governed accordingly — has always been woven into the country’s DNA. But in recent years, it has moved from the margins to the mainstream, carried by Trump’s presidency and a base that sees his political survival as Divinely Ordained.

Across denominations — Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, and even a small number of conservative Evangelicals — a Coalition of Faith Leaders is pushing back against a movement they believe is not just a political threat, but a theological one. They argue that Christian Nationalism doesn’t just corrupt Democracy; it corrupts Christianity. Though from my view, the Coalition is not yet very visible nor cohesive organizationally.

CODA. Whatever their official aims are, we must make clear that we are not trying to save a Nation, nor a political party or particular denomination. Rather, we are in a ‘Fight for Truth’ itself.

And all that is found in the Biblical Canon and Gospel of Jesus Christ. This, for only TWO REASONS.

1. SOULS. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – MATTHEW 28:19-20, NKJV

• SECURITY. “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved … [Thus], His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’” – MATTHEW 24:12-13; 25:13, NKJV

This is what we are supposed to be all about, beloved: blessing. Rescuing. And glorifying God all along the way with the short time left to us. As Ms. Tyler rightly admonished: “Religious leaders and communities really need to have the Courage to continue to speak from their traditions, including when it’s unpopular or challenging of power.”
