PRÉCIS ON THE CONSEQUENCES OF AMERICA’S DISHONORING OF HER MAKER

SCRIPTURE. “You also made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the Old Pool, but you did not look to the Maker of it, nor did you recognize Him Who planned it long ago.” – ISAIAH 22:11, AMPC

KEY TERM: “RECOGNIZE.” ‘Raah’ [רָאָה]: “From a primitive root meaning, “‘To see;’ imperative – See! Observe! Consider! DK: In this context of severe rebuke of His own people, Yahweh excoriates His Church for their brazen pride and disrespect of His Lordship by ‘presuming to build their own reservoirs and cisterns,’ having themselves that they were the ones responsible for their excellence. Oh my. Oh, my. ‘Thus, they rendered themselves blind,’ which for me relegates them to the abominations of the CHURCH AT LAODICEA:

“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neithercold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.Because you say, I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.’” – REVELATION 3:14-19, NKJV

COMMENTARY. “‘The weakness of Judah now appeared more than ever.’ Now also they discovered their carnal confidence and their carnal security. They looked to the fortifications. They made sure of water for the city. ‘But they were regardless of God in all these preparations.’ They did not care for His glory in what they did. They did not depend upon Him for a blessing on their endeavours. For every creature is to us what God makes it to be; and we must bless Him for it, and use it for Him. There was great contempt of God’s Wrath and Justice, in contending with them.

‘God’s Design was to humble them, and bring them to Repentance.’ They walked contrary to this. Actual disbelief of another life after this, is at the bottom of the carnal security and brutish sensuality, which are the sin, the shame, and ruin of so great a part of Mankind. God was displeased at this. It is a sin against the remedy, and it is not likely they should ever repent of it. Beloved, there is little I could possibly add to the Words of Messiah and those of the erudite Mr. Henry, save for this: For all intents and purposes, this is a searing description of the tawdry, doctrinally indifferent and politicized American Church Gone Rogue. As the theologians would call it:

‘Apostate!’

Neither can I offer frothy, soothing religious cliché here to assuage your despairs, except to say, further: ‘There is a true, faithful Remnant Church in America’ that God will use to rescue others. As I have said so many times before, aspire to that sacred gathering as protection of your own household and that of your neighbor – IFthey will listen to you.
