PRÉCIS ON THE GREATER STRENGTH OF THE REMNANT: WHO SHALL DARE OFFEND THE FAITHFUL OF THE TRUE KING?
SCRIPTURE. “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be dismayed because of the king of Assyria, nor because of all the army that is with him; for the One with us is greater than the one with him. With him there is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people relied on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.” – 2 CHRONICLES 32:7-8, AMP
KEY TERM: “THE ONE WITH US IS ‘GREATER!’” ‘Rab’ [רַ֖ב]: A reference to: “‘Many, much, great, chief, captain;’ abundant in size, quality, number, rank, quality, strength [power]; allegorical comparison of gold and silver [to wood, hay and stubble]; ‘More than enough to suffice thee!’ exceeding beyond [what you require]; ‘for the Chief of the Guardsmen is with you!’”
QUOTATION. “Don’t attempt to fight the Enemy in your own strength. You will experience burnout, and you will fail. Don’t even think about it! The key is to engage in spiritual warfare God’s Way. And that is by resting in Him and fighting from victory, not for victory!” ― PEDRO OKORO, The Ultimate Guide to Spiritual Warfare: Learn to Fight from Victory, Not for Victory! 2015; edited
COMMENTARY. “Those who trust God with their safety, must use proper means, else they tempt him. God will provide, but so must we also. Hezekiah gathered his people together, and spake comfortably to them. A believing confidence in God, will raise us above the prevailing fear of man. Let the good subjects and soldiers of Jesus Christ, rest upon His Word, and boldly say, ‘Since God is for us, who can be against us?’ By the favour of God, enemies are lost, and friends gained.” – MATTHEW HENRY, Exposition of the Old and New Testaments, 6 vols., 1708-1710; edited
DK’S TAKE. In the midst of an entire American Church caught in the throes of its own Self-Deception that it does not need God to fix things in our Nation, turning instead to The Tyrant, the Lion of Judah is raising up a Courageous Remnant who shall fight for and with Him. Vastly more importantly, they understand that as they do their own part, ‘God shall fight for them, even though they be few!’ (Exodus 14:14).
Let us never forget that He is Real, He is Mighty, He is Omnipresent with us, and ‘He is a Dread Champion against all who shall offend thee’ (Psalm 119:165). Too, He shall conduct Mighty Exploits on your behalf as you resolutely ‘Stand Your Ground in Him!’ Selah.
