PRÉCIS ON THE PRESENCE OF GOD IN OUR TIME OF TROUBLE: ASSURANCE TO THE FAITHFUL FOR THE STORMS AHEAD
SCRIPTURE. “Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless. Through God we will do valiantly, for it is He who shall tread down our enemies.” – PSALM 108:12-13, NKJV
KEY TERM: “HELP.” ‘Ezrah’ [עֶזְרָ֣ת]: “Derived from a root word (‘azar’), meaning, “To support or come to the aid of’ [especially in a time of need, danger, or trouble];’ it reflects the concept of God providing help to His people in times of necessity, emphasizing His role as a Protector and Sustainer.” WEBSTER (1828): Assistance; strength or means furnished towards promoting an object, or deliverance from difficulty or distress.”
QUOTATION. “During difficult times, we must trust God to bring us through the problem, trial, or tragedy. We may think that we are not gaining ground, but we are. In fact, from His Viewpoint, we are gaining the most important ground because we are learning to trust Him in the darkest moments of our lives. One of the greatest benefits that comes from difficulty is an opportunity to draw closer to God and to develop a deeper faith in Him. A second benefit is an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. There are many things in life that you can purchase with money, but you cannot buy intimacy with God.” ― CHARLES F. STANLEY, How to Let God Solve Your Problems: 12 Keys to Finding Clear Guidance in Life’s Trials, 2008; edited
COMMENTARY. “‘God’s help shall inspire us to help ourselves.’ Faith is neither a coward nor a sluggard; she knows that God is with her, and therefore she does valiantly; she knows that He will tread down her enemies, and therefore she arises to tread them down in His Name. Where praise and prayer have preceded the Battle, we may expect to see heroic deeds and decisive victories.
‘Through God’ is our secret support; from that Source we draw all our courage, wisdom, and strength. ‘We shall do valiantly.’ This is the public outflow from that secret source our inward and spiritual faith proves itself by outward and valorous deeds. ‘He shall tread down our enemies.’ They shall fall before Him, and as they lie prostrate He shall march over them, and all the hosts of His people with Him. This is a prophecy. It was fulfilled to David, but it remains true to the Son of David and all who are on his side.
‘The [True] Church shall yet arouse herself to praise her God with all her heart, and then with songs and hosannas she will advance to the Great Battle.’ Her foes shall be overthrown and utterly crushed by the power of her God, and the Lord’s glory shall be above all the Earth. ‘Send it in our time, we beseech Thee, O Lord!’”
DK’S TAKE. The Perfect Storm lies just ahead as we turn toward 2025, and there are at least THREE VIEWS of that taking place.
- MAGANS. One, it’s not happening at all, and in fact, once President Trump is back in the White House, America and our lives will improve dramatically. Most studies indicate this is about 30 percent of the American citizenry and well over 80 percent of the White Evangelical Church.
- NONES. Two, people see it coming and are absolutely terrified, not having a clue about how we got to this point or what to do next. These are folks with no substantial connection to True Religion, and likely constitute most of the rest of the country, about 60 percent.
- REMNANTS. As we have established in previous Commentaries, this is a distinct minority of Orthodox or Confession Christians who have some grasp of how America got here, and where it is headed under a Trump Presidency. They are not so much fearful as they are both deeply concerned and watchful, making plans for what lies ahead. Such individuals constitute about 7-10 percent of the population, at best.
CHOICES. First, by the Biblical Canon, God cannot help the fully committed, zealous Magans, since after nearly 8 years of Divine Warnings they continue, by choice (or default), in sustained Rebellion against Christ and are outside His Rescue. Second, however, the Nones can at any time cry out for Divine Rescue, and if sincere, will be indeed swept into God’s care. Third, the Remnants are, ironically, in the best position for God’s Protection on the one hand, but Persecution by Magans on the other, who hate the true followers of the Messiah.
To This Point: ‘Choose well in these Final Hours whom you shall serve: God or Man.’ As I continue to warn, Antichrist is here, bringing all his Darkness and Violence with him. Selah.
