NOTES ON VINDICATION OF THE RIGHTEOUS IN 2023: GOD’S FINAL YEAR OF DIVINE SIFTING

SCRIPTURE.  “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God’s wrath [and His judicial righteousness]; for it is written [in Scripture], ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord.” – ROMANS 12:19, AMP

KEY TERMS: Avenge; give place; wrath; vengeance

QUOTATIONS

SHAKESPEARE. “I am a Jew. Hath not a Jew eyes? Hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions; fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, heal’d by the same means, warm’d
and cool’d by the same winter and summer, as a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? ‘And if you wrong us, do we not revenge?’ If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that.” – William Shakespeare, ‘The Merchant of Venice,’ 1596-1598; edited

EDWARDS. “‘The bow of God’s Wrath is bent,’ and the arrow made ready on the string, and Justice bends the arrow at your heart, and strains the bow, and it is nothing but the mere pleasure of God, and that of an Angry God, without any promise or obligation at all, that keeps the arrow one moment from being made drunk with your blood.” ― Jonathan Edwards, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God,’ 1741; edited

TRUMP. “There are a lot of bad people out there … ‘If you have a problem, ‘if you have a problem with someone, you have to go after them.’ And it’s not necessarily to teach that person a lesson. It’s to teach all of the people that are watching a lesson. That you don’t take crap. And if you take crap, you’re just not going to do well … But you can’t take a lot of nonsense from people, you have to go after them.” – Donald John Trump, “Donald Trump is Completely Obsessed with Revenge,” by David Corn, ‘Mother Jones,’ Oct. 19, 2016

  1. FIRST THOUGHTS

Virtually every human being I know, including this writer, does not want to suffer. We just want to be happy! [think Pharrell Williams about here]. Too, I think that is overwhelmingly normal in human conduct. In fact, the most essential principles of behavioral psychology would quickly agree that this Pleasure-Pain Principle is indeed the norm for healthy human beings.

Taking a closer look, however, is revealing.

PURSUIT OF HAPPY CHURCH. I have mentioned on occasion before that I’ve noticed a Major Trend in many if not all of my local and more general Charismatic and Pentecostal communities across the country. I have seen a rapidly expanding emphasis upon ‘Praise and Worship’ with musical gala presentations including all sorts of special lighting, enormous sound systems, contemporary this and that of course and oftentimes a praise and worship service that will go up to an hour or more.

THE NEW DOCTRINE: Praise your way to Happiness!’

Too often followed by a 27-minute presentation that is paper thin on deep structure theology. And which rarely if ever offers a challenge to the congregation to expect suffering for Christ or think poorly of themselves whenever they might sin. In fact, the word “‘Sin’ is rarely if ever mentioned in any of these houses of worship.

Mostly, that’s reserved for the Democrats! Selah.

I came across a tidy little essay by a pastor of some thirty years, CHIP INGRAM, in his blog, ‘Living on the Edge,’ bearing the title: “Has Happiness Become an Idol?” (ret. Jan. 9, 2023; edited). He writes this.

“When we look in the Old Testament and read how easily the Israelites were seduced into idol worship, it’s easy for us to judge. I’ve never come home after a long day of work and said to my wife, ‘Honey, just stay right here. I put a little statue in the back room, and now I’m going to go pray to it’ … But if we take the time to look at our own hearts a little closer, we’re really not that different from the children of Israel. Honestly, I’ve worshipped a lot of MENTAL IDOLS – Idols like success, family, education, prosperity, money, comfort, self-fulfillment.‘And in the process of pursuing these Idols, the focus on God diminishes.’

As a pastor, I see this not only in my life, but also in the life of the Church. Many of our churches today are infected with what I call ‘the Happiness Cult.’ We worship at the altar of happiness and expect God to deliver on that front. We adopt the idea: ‘If I love God, He will make sure things go my way.’”

I couldn’t agree more with Mr. Ingram’s broadside, and strongly commend this good pastor for having the wherewithal to even say such a thing to his church members. I believe this aberration of true worship to be widespread throughout the Evangelical and Spirit-filled Church world.

Expanding on this nearly universal “Pursuit of Happiness” idea, Moody Institute trained Pastor JACK WELLMAN in ‘Faith in the News’ (ret. Jan. 9, 2023; edited) lists “SIX FALSE IDOLS” in the American Church of today.

  1. BEING RELEVANT. “I actually heard one pastor say that ‘We can’t be preaching the Bible to people in the world because it’s not relevant to them.’ What!? I have to admit, I was angered by that. Isn’t the Gospel the power of salvation (Rom. 1:16)? Does this pastor think he has more power than the Word of God to save? Has he invented ‘a better way’ than the Spirit of God mixed with the Word of God making the children of God? I think he’s the one who’s irrelevant. The Word of God never needs changing; it abides forever (1 Pet. 1:25). ‘These churches that don’t want to offend people’ are more interested in filling the pews than filling people with the Word of God. Sorry, milk-toast pastor, but the Word is supposed to cut in order to heal because soft words make hard hearts, but hard words make soft hearts, and the Word of God is supposed to comfort the afflicted, but afflict the comfortable. Pragmatism is deadly as a doctrine. Feelings over Faith is toxic!”
  • SELF IMPROVEMENT. “This comes close to being found in every Prosperity Gospel I have ever heard. They want you to come to their church so that ‘Your life will be better and you’ll be happier,’ but I have news for them. My life got harder after I became a Christian. Many of my former friends spurned me. Much of my family thought I was brainwashed. Some sermon topics are ‘How to Live a Happier Life’ or ‘How You Can Find More Fulfillment.’ Excuse me, but isn’t worship all about God and His glory? What about preaching about repentance, sin, the cross, the blood of the Lamb, holiness, sanctification, and actual Biblical topics? Instead of love for God being taught,it’s all about love for self.’ It’s not Theology but “Me-ology” they are preaching. Christ is not the focus; we are!”
  • WE ARE ALL GOD’S CHILDREN. “‘Pluralism’ has extended its deadly tentacles into the modern churches. No, not all of them, but the idea that we should ‘embrace other religions’ [Syncretism] is a false notion and one from many modern churches. The bumper sticker that reads ‘Coexist’sounds nice, but try telling that to the extremists of Islam, who continuously murder Christians around the world. We are not all God’s children! Some are clearly children of the Devil, which is what Jesus told the religious authorities in His day (John 8:44), and John wrote that ‘We know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are’ (1 John 3:10). Once, when Paul and Barnabas were opposed by Elymas the Sorcerer, who tried to turn the Proconsul away from the faith (Acts 13:8), Paul told him, ‘You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery’ (Acts 13:10).”
  • PASTORS AND PREACHERS. Once a pastor gets too full of himself’ and starts believing his own stuff, God may be finished with him, at least for a while, until he repents, but it’s so easy to get caught up in a person who pastors a large church or preaches great sermons and is on TV and radio. Far too often the pastor of a great Megachurch becomes bigger than Jesus Christ. They start making it about them and motivating people with persuasively powerful speeches and drumming up human emotion to make people to commit to Christ, but it rarely sticks. Then, they come dangerously close to putting him on a pedestal and almost worshiping him rather than God. When the pastor becomes too big in his own eyes and in the eyes of people, ‘you’ve got a modern-day Idol’ and one of the top ones in Christianity.’”
  • ENLARGE MY BORDER. “There are so many stories of shattered lives where people have sent in their seeds of faith’only to end up broke, and brokenhearted, as well as having their faith shipwrecked. One of the idols of Christianity is the ‘speak it’ into being faith that some have carried too far. If you have enough faith, there’s a miracle in your mouth. Just agree with God about something, and it is done, but rarely is God’s will mentioned, and that’s what Jesus said we should pray for above all. It’s fine to ask God to bless you, but if it’s always focused on enlarging your own borders, many of whom quote an Old Testament verse (out of context, of course), then we’re not praying for the right thing. The one verse they take out of context as a proof text for asking God to enlarge their borders, is actually a warning to Israel after they’ve already enlarged their borders and they’ll go into captivity for disobedience (Ex. 34:24).”
  • BIBLE TRANSLATIONS. “Funny how we can make the Bible an Idol, but it happens. Some claim to be ‘King James Only Christians,’ while other are ‘Red Letter Christians’ which means red letter Bibles where Jesus’ Words are in red and that’s all they will read. Then there’s the multitude of other Bible translations and people slamming others for reading the NIV, the NLT, and even the King James Version, but whatever translation someone likes, it can become an Idol when we look down at others who have translations that we don’t like. I use the ESV but love the NASB, but I don’t get into arguments over which is best.”

DK’S TAKE. As you review all six of these idols, every single one of them are root and branch the demonic progeny of SELF-WORSHIP [‘What I say and what I believe is the truth’] – fully detestable in the sight of Almighty God. Yet it is nearly everywhere!

  1. THE COMING PERSECUTION

Perhaps the greatest Unwritten Story about the American Church in 2023 is hidden just beneath a ‘superficial unity.’ As I have learned personally and on occasion brutally, those who dare to oppose Donald Trump are increasingly treated as pariah, as political and spiritual lepers. But not just from the Republican Acolytes of The Don, but most treacherously, ‘from the Church!’

They call us, the “Never Trumps.” I continue to prefer the name, The Remnant.

THE RESISTANCE. In this section I’m going to lay down some withering fire, though limited, against this growing betrayal of The Brethren by the so-called “Conservative” Political Establishment, and again, the vast majority of the Leadership of the American Church itself.

The Editors of Wikipedia’s short history of the NEVER TRUMP MOVEMENT appears below, with a few gaps filled in by me.

“The Never Trump movement, also called the #nevertrump, Stop Trump, Anti-Trump, or Dump Trump Movement, began as an effort on the part of a group of Republicans (known as Never Trump Republicans) and other prominent conservatives to prevent Republican front-runner Donald Trump from obtaining the Republican Party presidential nomination. After he was nominated, this shifted into an effort to prevent him from obtaining the presidency in the 2016 United States presidential election.

Trump remained unsupported by 20 percent of Republican members of Congress in the General Election [80% in support]. Following Trump’s election in November 2016, some in the Movement refocused their efforts on defeating Trump in 2020.” –  Ret. Oct. 6, 2022; edited

TRUMP & MACHIAVELLI. I will propose here that the Rise of Donald Trump to political power in America, and my still firm expectation that he will “rise again” in the days ahead, signifies a Dark Regress to the political algorithms of the Medieval Era.

Already showing its bare knuckles approach to governing at the JANUARY 6 INSURRECTION, it is a Return to a Brute Authoritarianism that stands in violent contravention of our Constitutional Republic and Biblical Order. Indeed, in the very words of Mr. Trump: “A Massive [Presidential Election] Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, ‘even those found in the Constitution.’” (Truth Social, Dec. 4, 2022).

This is the very essence of what Christ Himself prophesied would permeate the Last Days in the form of Lawlessness: ‘Anomia’ [ἀνομία] – “Violation of God’s Order; wickedness, unrighteousness; iniquity; utter contempt for the Canon; transgression; the quality or state of being completely unrestrained.”

We learn from Wikipedia (Nov. 22, 2023) in this regard of ‘The Prince,’ a 16th-century Political Treatise written by Italian diplomat and political theorist, NICCOLO MACHIAVELLI as an Instruction Guide for new princes and royals. The General Theme of The Prince is this:

“Glory and survival can justify the use of immoral means to achieve those ends.”

RETURN TO DARKNESS. For us to embrace the Machiavellian Political Model, we enjoin nothing less than the utter rejection 1,000 years of the Christian Common Law Tradition initiated with the historic signing of The Magna Carta, agreed to by King John of England at Runnymeade, on June 15, 1215.

Before that, it also severs ties to the entire Moral Framework we inherited from the Jews at Sinai, as enshrined in the stone tablets of The Law given to Moses some 3,400 years ago. The dual impact of such Legal and Moral Abandonment is to come to understand the momentous Pivot we now face:

From a Republic governed by Law to a Dictatorship governed by a single, unaccountable ‘Strong Man.’

CASE STUDY: KENDAL UNRUH. A dear friend of all in this community is an intrepid Christian leader and teacher named Kendal Casey Unruh. Wikipedia again summarizes the central role this “First Canary in the Coal Mine” was to play in the courageous, almost single handed Resistance of the Republican (and Christian) seditious undermining of the American Order.

Free the Delegates was an American political effort within the Republican Party, formed in June 2016 by delegate and Rules Committee member Kendal Unruh to the 2016 Republican National Convention (July 18–21, 2016) with the goal of nominating a candidate other than Donald Trump, who won a plurality of primary votes and pledged delegates. By June 19, hundreds of delegates to the Republican National Convention had begun raising funds and recruiting members in support of an effort to persuade the Party Convention Rules Committee to ‘free delegates to vote as they individually wished,’ rather than according to the results of State caucuses and primaries.

The Movement was founded and launched in June by a delegate and RNC Rules Committee member, KENDAL UNRUH, with a nationwide conference call connecting 30 Convention delegates in 15 states. Less than a week later, the group’s second phone conference included over 1,000 delegates, about 400 of whom were pledged to the Movement …

Speaker of the House and Chairman of the 2016 Republican National Convention PAUL RYAN appeared to give Free the Delegates tacit support when he appeared on NBC News‘ Meet the Press on June 19. During this appearance, he responded to a question about the group by saying, ‘It is not my job to tell delegates what to do, what not to do, or to weigh in on things like that …They write the rules. They make their decisions … the last thing I’m going to do is weigh in and tell delegates what to do.’ Wisconsin Governor SCOTT WALKER gave support to Free the Delegates, telling the Associated Press, ‘I think historically, not just this year, delegates are and should be able to vote the way they see fit.’ Former U.S. Senator GORDON J. HUMPHREY endorsed the efforts of Republican delegates to organize against Trump, saying he would work to encourage New England delegates to oppose Trump. Senator JOHN MCCAIN told The Weekly Standard, ‘I think it’s up to every delegate to make up their own minds.’” – Jan. 9, 2023; edited

TRUMP’S STORMTROOPERS. Sadly, tragically, beyond my ability to measure it as a scholar of the American Enterprise, Unruh’s Movement would meet with a Two Stage Defeat.

  • ON THE RECORD. “But the effort fell apart. It needed support from a majority of seven states’ delegations. The Dissidents said they submitted signatures from 11, the chair recognized nine, and then Trump Loyalists convinced enough delegates to rescind their support that only six remained. The effort failed because most Republicans in Cleveland have come around to embrace Trump as their nominee … Indeed, the convention proceeded through the night, with speaker after speaker praising Donald Trump and denouncing Hillary Clinton. The delegates cheered [RUDOLF] GIULIANI. They greeted Trump with a thunderous ovation. They embraced retired Lieutenant General MIKE FLYNN’S attack on Hillary, chanting, ‘Lock her up!’ And they hailed MELANIA TRUMP’S optimistic, positive speech. It’s Trump’s Party, rocking on in Cleveland.” – YONI APPELBAUM, ‘The Atlantic,’ July 18, 2016; edited
  • OFF THE RECORD. I have gathered from several confidential sources that the Darker Side of all this took place in that private, face-to-face confrontation between REINCE PRIEBUS AND KENDAL UNRUH. Though there is no verbal transcript available, the sense that I got very clearly was Priebus telling Unruh in no uncertain terms, that if she continued the Movement, It will not be good for you.’  Or words or nuance to that effect. Since that time, I have read or heard Kendal say that she stopped counting death threats long ago, since they were too numerous to accurately track.

THE COMING PERSECUTION: I have rightly often said that I am no prophet, but as a Christian Culture Analyst, I can survey the data and the evidence, and make some responsible projections about what is to come in America in the days ahead. With no more than this particular case study to consider, I promise you on the strong foundations of the Canon and simple Logic the following:

What happened to Kendal Casey Unruh is ‘coming to your house’ – if you too resist the Spirit of the Beast trampling down our God-given freedom.

The Psalmist describes it this way: “Our life is exceedingly filled with the scorning and scoffing of those who are at ease and with the contempt of the proud (irresponsible tyrants who disregard God’s law).” – PSALM 123:4, AMPC

JOHN GILL. “‘Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease’ – That are in easy and affluent circumstances; abound in the things of this world, and have more than heart can wish; have no outward trouble, as other men, or as the saints have; nor any uneasiness of mind, on account of sin and their eternal state: they have been at ease from their youth; ‘Satan, that has the possession of them, keeps the goods in peace; and their consciences are seared as with a red hot iron, and they are past feeling;’ though they are far from having any true solid peace of mind: and such persons are generally scorners of the saints, and load them with their gibes and jeers in a most insolent manner; which makes it very irksome and grievous to bear;

‘and with the contempt of the proud’ Who are proud of their natural abilities – of their wealth and riches, and of their honours and high places: and such are generally scorners, and deal in proud wrath; and, ‘through their pride, persecute the poor saints with their reproaches, and by other ways;’ see Proverbs 21:24.” – JOHN GILL, ‘An Exposition of the Old and New Testament,’ 9 vols., 1746-1763; edited

So to the Plans of God for such as these, beloved.

  1. THE TEACHING

SCRIPTURE.  “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God’s wrath [and His judicial righteousness]; for it is written [in Scripture], ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord.” – ROMANS 12:19, AMP

If we are being honest, most of us are beyond frustrated and yes, angered, as we watch somewhat helplessly the rapid proliferation of wickedness in America all around us. Most especially when we see it inside the sacred places of God’s own sanctuaries.

Adding deep structure insult to increased moral injury is the fact that we have been taught in our churches all of our lives to never ever bring any critique to anything like this because we are instructed clearly and frequently to at all costs:

“Never judge! Never fight back! Only love!”

I so vigorously beg to differ, that I shall finish the central part of this essay in the following section with the purpose of doing some serious damage to that dangerous nonsense.

VINDICATION OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. God Promises in no uncertain terms to bring Justice, Righteousness and Vindication to His faithful followers. But in order to accomplish that, He needs our full cooperation.

The KEY TERMS below help to precisely define what we are to do.

  • NEVER AVENGE. The First Directive of how to deal with Persecution from others, especially from our fellow Christians is defined by the Greek term, Ekdikeó’ [ἐκδικέω]: “To vindicate, retaliate or punish; to execute justice or vindicate one’s cause; to act as an avenger of blood; to maintain one’s right(s) above all others; to make penal satisfaction; [i.e., ‘to act as God’].”
  • ALLOW FOR WRATH. Imprecatory prayer is defined is the invocation of evil or punishment upon another. King David prayed it often, but Christians are allowed to use it only under very restrictive circumstances. From the Greek, Orgé [ὀργή]: “To act on impulse, in anger or passion; severe punishment or vengeance; settled opposition [fiery indignation for the purpose of revenge]; intense desire with grief; violent outburst; vehement exasperation.”
  • DIVINE PROVENANCE. Here is the core requirement: Only God repays!’ Taken from the term, Antapodidómi’ [ἀνταποδίδωμι]: “To requite good or evil, recompense; to give back as an equivalent [Lex Talionis]; payback; [severe] penalty; to render justice; to compensate; to make return of an equivalent for any thing given, done or suffered; as, to recompense a person for services, for fidelity or for sacrifices of time, for loss or damages.”

MATTHEW POOLE. “‘Dearly beloved;’ He useth this friendly compellation, the better to persuade to the following duty, which is so hard to flesh and blood. ‘Avenge not yourselves:’ You had an exhortation to this purpose, Romans 12:17; but considering the proneness of corrupt nature to private and personal revenge, he renews his exhortation, and enlargeth upon it. This seems to be borrowed from Leviticus 19:18.

‘But rather give place unto wrath;’ i.e. say some, your own wrath. Be not angry, or suffer not your anger to hurry you to revenge; give way a little, and walk aside, as Ahasuerus did, when his wrath kindled against Haman. Others refer it to the wrath of those who wrong us; decline their wrath, as David did Saul’s; put up wrongs and injuries. But it is better referred to the Wrath of God,’ which they seem to prevent who seek revenge. ‘Suffer God to vindicate and right’ to avenge you of your adversaries; commit your cause to Him, and do not take His work out of his hand.” – ‘English Annotations on the Holy Bible,’ 1700; edited

THE REGENT LAWSUIT. The Short Version. In 1995 for a number of reasons, Regent University’s Board of Trustees decided to withdraw all tenure from all faculty. Stemming from an internal dispute between Law School Dean HERBERT TITUS and University Chancellor PAT ROBERTSON, there was no prior notice. There was no opportunity for faculty to be consulted by the administration.

  • LAWSUIT. “On August 29, in Tuomala v. Regent University, Circuit Judge Edward W. Hanson, Jr., ruled that Regent’s interpretation of a system of three-year ‘rolling’ employment contracts in 1993 did not violate those contracts. The three professors—Jeffrey Tuomala, Clifford Kelly, and Elaine Waller—will be unemployed at the end of the academic year next May when their three-year contracts expire. Their unemployment results from their refusal to sign new employment contracts implemented at Regent in 1994. They had made a legal claim to lifetime tenure under Regent’s old system, changed in 1994.” – ‘Christianity Today,’ “Regent University Wins Faculty Tenure Lawsuit,” Oct. 2, 1995; edited
  • TWIN VIOLATIONS. To be brief: (1) Robertson’s Board violated the respect of their faculty by operating in an ‘authoritarian manner,’ ruling with an iron fist in a place that ought to be governed by both Truth and Grace. (2) We (the defendants) violated the principle discussed today by ‘taking our own revenge,’ and affirmed by a passage in 1 CORINTHIANS 6: “Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? … Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated?” (vv. 1, 7, New King James Version).

UPDATE. Mr. Tuomala is currently Professor of Law at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Dr. Waller is Pastor of Abundant Life Ministries in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Dr. Kelly is a Digital Circuit Rider based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, remaining virtually unemployable in all Christian circles.

Harbinger of things to come, beloved.

  1. LAST THOUGHTS

FIGHTING FAIR. There are at least Two Extreme Responses in the American Church today to the current Spiritual War raging all around us. The most prevalent one is to Run and Hide, denying there is a crisis. The second extreme is to Fight Fire with Fire,’ a clear violation of the Scriptures regarding the unauthorized use of force under Romans 13.

So here is what I suggest we do to Strike the Biblical Center in this War for Christ and Canon in these treacherous Last Days. To indeed, ‘Fight Fair’with the dual purposes of Honoring God and Winning the Battle.

  • Covenant with God that you will give your entire life effort to His Cause as your first priority, your Prime Directive – unto life or unto death. – Rev. 12:11
  • Spend Quality Time with God every single day, not just by throwing together a 17-second prayer or glimpse a religious meme now and then. No! Real time, real conversation, real study, and real listening. Every day! – Rev. 3:20
  • Clarify His Instructions as they are made plain to you by this significantly increased commitment to God – ‘Listening’ to what He has to tell you about your life, your purpose, and even your daily activities. Ask Him to guide them all. And keep a Journal for each encounter. – Psalm 32:8
  • Then Wait on Him. You are only to act when he specifies a particular course of action; Otherwise, you commit all to him in prayer and “Leave room for Wrath (or Grace)” – allowing Almighty God and not you to determine which shall be appropriate to the crisis or the condition. – See the Scripture that follows

OUR VINDICATION! “Be still before the Lord, all mankind; ‘for He is roused’ [stirred  up to action!] from His holy habitation [in response to His persecuted people].” – ZACHARIAH 2:13, AMP

As one eloquent Commentary put it: “Let all in silent awe and reverence await the Lord’s Coming Interposition in behalf of His people!’” – FAUSETT, JAMIESON & BROWN, ‘Commentary on the Whole Bible,’ 1871; edited

FINAL WORD.I rarely if ever post a direct “prophecy” of sorts on these essays, since I work hard to stick to the verifiable Biblical and research evidence. But I shall dare to post this one, since it was so shrill. I heard this at the open of my Preparation of this Lesson:

“You are descending into a year filled with torments and terrors. My people must prepare for what is coming, but most of them are not ready and they will be swept away.” – Sat. Jan. 7, 2023; 5 am

May God help me; I believe this to be the Word of the Lord for the coming year. Therefore, test it severely before accepting a word, jot or tittle of it.
